- Fremont Casino launched its rebranded FanDuel Sportsbook last Thursday along with its expanded gaming floor.
- The 2,300-square foot sportsbook marks the return of FanDuel in the Las Vegas gaming scene since it left in 2015.
- The expanded gaming floor adds 10,000 square feet of space which will enable the casino to add 120 new games.
Fremont Hotel & Casino celebrated last Thursday the opening of its FanDuel Sportsbook and the launch of its expanded gaming floor. The two are part of a $50 million renovation project undergone by the Boyd Gaming-owned Las Vegas casino.

Also making its debut last week was a six-stall food hall that was also built on a former parking lot on Third Street. The brands in the new food hall include Steak n’ Shake, Huey Magoos, CRAFTKitchen, and Dunkin’ Donuts.
An entrance and a patio were also added along Third Street, where a pedestrian mall has been built by the city to create access to the Fremont Street Experience from Ogden Avenue.
Boyd also recently renovated the casino’s hotel rooms and it also intends to remodel the entire casino floor one section at a time. According to officials, the entire project is expected to be completed before the end of 2023.

The FanDuel sportsbook is perhaps the highlight of Fremont’s $50 million renovation because it marks the operator’s return to the Nevada scene. FanDuel used to operate daily fantasy contests in the state but after Nevada regulators ruled in 2015 that fantasy sports is a form of sports betting, it walked away together with rival DraftKings.
In August 2022, the Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously approved to rebrand the sportsbook at Fremont Hotel & Casino to a FanDuel-branded sports betting shop. The renovated 2,300-square-foot sportsbook will feature four betting windows and seven self-service betting kiosks. The area also has 12 bartop gaming machines, and 12 65-inch TV sets.
FanDuel entered into a strategic partnership with Boyd Gaming in 2018, with the casino operator taking a 5% share in the fantasy sports company. Currently, Boyd Gaming is FanDuel’s biggest sports betting partner with their agreement covering 15 casinos in 8 out of the 9 states where Boyd Gaming operates.
Officials from Boyd Gaming estimate that its partnership with FanDuel will generate an estimated $30 million per annum, with the amount expected to increase this year with the addition of new markets, such as the Fremont Casino sportsbook.
About Fremont Casino
Fremont Casino is one of the gaming and hospitality properties located in Downtown Las Vegas that is part of the Fremont Street Experience. The property opened on May 18, 1956, as the Fremont Hotel and was the tallest building in Nevada at that time.
It was originally owned by Ed Levinson and Lou Lurie who sold the property to Argent Corporation in 1974 before it was acquired by Sam Boyd in 1983 as an addition to his Boyd Gaming group of properties.
Fremont Casino features over 1,000 slots, video poker, and keno machines plus 22 table games. The newly expanded gaming floor, which replaced the property’s former buffet area, adds 10,000 square feet of gaming space which will enable the casino to add 120 more games.
Boyd Gaming posted a record-breaking $3.4 billion revenue in 2021 with adjusted earnings of $1.4 billion. This included a strong finish to the year where 24 out of its 27 gaming properties recorded double-digit revenue growth during the 4th quarter. With an eye on improving its 2021 performance, Boyd Gaming announced $250 million worth of capital projects for 2022, including the $50 million for Fremont Casino.
