- Yassine Chueko is a former soldier and MMA fighter, who is now the bodyguard of soccer star Lionel Messi.
- Chueko recently challenged Logan Paul to a fight, and Paul has sent a response.
- Messi and Paul have lawsuits going against each other, as they’re battling in the market of sports drinks.
It is a strange time for sports beefs, and another one seems to be emerging from impending lawsuits. Soccer great Lionel Messi and YouTuber/wrestler Logan Paul are going at it in the courtroom, and it could spill over to the ring.
It wouldn’t be Messi in the ring, however. His bodyguard, Yassine Chueko, has challenged Paul to a boxing match. Paul has responded in typical Paul fashion.

Chueko, who is a former soldier and MMA fighter, said:
“Listen Logan, I’m doing this video because a lot of people they stop me in the streets, they send me message, I get a lot of comments on Instagram about this fight. So now the reverse is broken, there’s no way out. Let’s do the fight for the people. Let’s do it.”
Chueko got a positive response from UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal, and the two would likely know each other as Masvidal is from Miami, where Messi plays in Major League Soccer for Inter Miami.
Paul responded on his YouTube channel, as he was training.
Paul shot back:
“Tell him to get in line, bro. It’s an MMA guy who thinks he can box, who thinks he’s entitled to victory or attention because he’s Messi’s bodyguard. I’ve offered to fly people out before, he doesn’t even deserve a fly out.”
The YouTuber/boxer/wrestler said that, if a fight were to happen with Chueko, it would be by his rules.
“It’s like, bro, I’m here in Puerto Rico, if you want to pull up on me in Puerto Rico, you’re more than welcome, bro. When I beat you’re a**, and it’s a big when, not if, when I beat you’re a**, you’ve got to drink PRIME. You’ve got to drink PRIME, bro.”
There are no odds at boxing betting sites for a potential match between Chueko and Paul. It’s tough to figure out if this is some sort of marketing scheme because everything Paul does has to do with marketing himself in his brand. But this dispute actually stems from his brand.
Why are Lionel Messi and Logan Paul Suing Each Other? Would Messi Fight Paul?
Messi and Paul are battling in the courtroom. The World Cup winner is the face of a sports drink, Mas+, which sued Paul’s brand, Prime, for “anti-competitive” conduct. Paul and Prime then launched a countersuit, which Paul said, as a joke, he would drop if Messi got in the boxing ring with him. This is when Chueko, as Messi’s bodyguard, stepped in.
There hasn’t been much movement in the courtroom yet, which is why there is this social media activity. Messi would never get in the ring with Paul, as it would be a complete mismatch. Messi is 5’7” and 150 pounds, while Paul is 6’2”, 205 pounds. Chueko is a much more even matchup as he is 5’10”, 190 pounds, but he is a former Navy SEAL who has served overseas. He has also competed in MMA, which puts Chueko at a disadvantage in the boxing ring.
We’ll keep you updated on anything else that happens in this bizarre case, but you shouldn’t hold your breath for a fight between Paul and Chueko.
