- Ryan Garcia’s betting odds against Tank Davis have shortened from +200 to +160 while Davis’ price has dropped to -200 from -260 just one day after they went live at the top boxing sportsbooks.
- Garcia recorded a 6th-round KO win over Javier Fortuna on Saturday night in Los Angeles.
- Despite the improvement in odds, Garcia is still the betting underdog for the first time ever in a potential fight with WBA lightweight king Tank Davis.
One day before his fight against Javier Fortuna, Ryan Garcia opened as the +200 underdog in a potential showdown with Gervonta “Tank” Davis. After King Ryan decimated Fortuna with a sensational performance on Saturday night, the odds are much closer.
Online sportsbook BetOnline currently has Garcia as the +160 betting underdog against Davis who is now listed at -200 after opening at -260 odds on Friday.

Garcia and Fortuna were first penciled to fight in July 2021 but the Los Angeles native withdrew from the bout due to his mental health. Fortuna stayed at the event and went on to fight and lose to Joseph Diaz. The former super featherweight champion bounced back with a KO win over unknown Rafael Hernandez last February. Meanwhile, Garcia returned from a 15-month hiatus with a UD win over Emmanuel Tagoe last April and booked a quick turnaround bout against Fortuna.
King Ryan entered Saturday’s bout as the heavy -1200 betting favorite, with Fortuna coming in at +700 odds. The odds were so lopsided that the best bet for Garcia was at -225 to win by knockout. The KO bet cashes as well as the under 7.5 rounds for the bout as Garcia dropped Fortuna thrice before the fighter from the Dominican Republic had enough and took the 10-count in round 6.
Gacia threw twice more punches than Fortuna and outlanded him 79-24 in total punches. The Los Angeles native also connected on 56 of 136 power punches or a 41% clip. Three of those were lightning-quick left hooks that put Fortuna down: one to the body that produced the first knockdown in the 4th round, a second to the chin in the 5th, and another left hook that smacked Fortuna’s chin in the 6th. After the third one, Fortuna dropped to one knee as the referee counted him out 27 seconds into round 6.

One day before fighting Fortuna, the betting odds for a possible showdown between Garcia and WBA (regular) lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis hit the betting boards at the best boxing betting sites, with Davis opening as a sizable -260 betting favorite and Garcia coming back as the +200 bottom dog.
Those odds have since shortened as Garcia’s odds have been slashed by 20% since they went live. As of the latest boxing futures odds at the BetOnline App, Garcia is now listed at +160 odds. Meanwhile, Tank’s odds have dropped by 23% to +200. As of this writing, only BetOnline had posted odds for that potential matchup, with the other top sportsbooks not yet putting back their odds after Saturday’s bout.
Despite the odds moving in his favor, Garcia is still listed as the underdog against Davis, marking the first time in his career that he’s seen the plus money sign written next to his name. Previously, Garcia’s longest odds were at +170 when he fought Luke Campbell. Meanwhile, Davis is also witnessing his longest odds as a favorite. Tank has never been listed as a betting favorite worse than -303, his opening odds when he fought Leo Santa Cruz in 2020.
