Olympic betting sites are now quiet, and will be for the foreseeable future with the next Games in Los Angeles four years away. But a crop of new stars emerged from the 2024 Games in France.

Gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik made headlines as he appeared to be asleep while he was preparing for his events.

Nedoroscik has parlayed his newfound stardom into a spot on the 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars, which kicks off on ABC on September 17, says an ESPN report.

“Pommel Horse Guy” is First Male Gymnast to Compete on DWTS

Nedoroscik is known as the “Pommel Horse Guy”, as he competed in the pommel horse event for the United States’ men’s gymnastics team. The 25-year-old out of Worcester, Massachusetts, received a lot of attention for his zen-like preparation, as well as his rimmed glasses. Nedoroscik wears glasses as he has strabismus and coloboma, which leads to poor depth perception. This makes his exploits at the 2024 Olympic Games that much more incredible.

Nedoroscik returned to the United States with a pair of bronze medals in the pommel horse, becoming the first American male to medal in the event since World War II. He also returned home as an internet star and has been all over the media since then. He has been on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:

Nedoroscik also made an appearance on ABC News Live to promote his entry into Dancing with The Stars.

Nedoroscik is the first American male gymnast to compete on the long-standing dancing competition show. However, he’s not the first Olympian, or the first gymnast overall, to take part in the show. Fellow gymnasts Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Shawn Johnson, Aly Raisman, Mary Lou Retton, Nastia Liukin, and Laurie Hernandez have all gotten their chance on Dancing with The Stars.

How Will Nedoroscik Fare on Dancing with The Stars?

Dancing with The Stars betting odds haven’t been released yet, as the cast list hasn’t been finalized for Season 33. Nedoroscik was actually the first contestant to be announced, and the rest will be revealed on September 4. We’ll be covering the show all season long, so stay tuned for our analysis!

Nedoroscik has big shoes to follow in terms of gymnasts. Johnson and Hernandez both won their seasons, while Biles, Raisman, and Liukin all finished fourth. It’ll be interesting to see how Nedoroscik’s abilities on the pommel horse translates to Dancing with The Stars as the previous gymnasts all did some sort of rhythmic gymnastics, which is set to music. Nedoroscik doesn’t have that on the pommel horse.

However, there is a chance that Nedoroscik has done it in training, so it won’t be entirely new to him. It also all depends on who he is paired with. The professional dancers on Dancing with The Stars play a massive role in helping along the celebrities, and there are plenty of stars that have no rhythm whatsoever. But Nedoroscik should be able to do just fine this season, so keep an eye on his Dancing with the Stars odds at entertainment betting sites!
