Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Ravens vs. Chiefs odds for NFL Week One have moved ever so slightly over the last two months. In June, the Chiefs were a -2.5 (-120) favorite so there has been a slight jump in favor of Kansas City to -3 (+100). Currently, you can get even money on the Chiefs to cover the three points!.

The over/under has bobbled up and down from 46 to 47, and now back down to 46. The Ravens and Chiefs open the season in a rematch of the AFC Championship.

Although both teams are led by dynamic quarterbacks, this matchup has the makings of a defensive struggle at Arrowhead Stadium. Rashee Rice’s potential suspension is worth noting, but I expect the Chiefs’ defense to step up and stop Lamar Jackson on critical downs.

I expect the Ravens to be competitive in this one at Arrowhead Stadium, but the Chiefs are the play at -3 or -2.5. Jackson is just 1-3 in his career against the Chiefs. He’s been mediocre, with a passer rating of 78.9 in four games.

Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Philadelphia Eagles are a short field goal favorite on Friday night in Brazil, but do online betting sites have it correct? This is another game in the 2024 NFL Week One odds that have shifted slightly to -3 on the spread. 

However, it’s worth noting that the Eagles’ odds to beat the Packers have improved this month. They were previously a 2-point favorite, so you’ll need to pay more if you like the Eagles to win.

Due to Jason Kelce’s retirement, the Eagles must retool part of their offensive line. Last season, the Eagles collapsed late in the year after a 10-1 start to the season. In the offseason, they added All-Star running back Saquon Barkley, though he’s already hobbled with an injury heading into Week 1.

They played with no confidence, and it all unraveled rather quickly against the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round. Meanwhile, under QB Jordan Love, the Packers look like a team surging up.

There is plenty of value to be had on the Packers if you can get three points like Bovada is offering right now. The Eagles will be competitive, but the value for your Week 1 NFL betting strategy is on the Packers!

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The NFL Week 1 lines feature a battle between new faces at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons. After an abysmal career with the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson is looking for a fresh start in Pittsburgh.

After opening as a -3 favorite, the Falcons moved down to -2, but are back up again on the heels of the preseason. Wilson and Justin Fields battled for the Week 1 starting job, with the former Seahawk and Bronco ultimately prevailing. I think Wilson was the starter from the first day for Mike Tomlin, though.

Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins signed with the Falcons after failing to come to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. He joins a Falcons team that has a terrible history against the Steelers.

The Steelers are 15-2-1 in their last 18 matchups versus the Falcons. It’s been a lopsided affair in favor of the Steelers. As far as this year is concerned, it feels like a game that will come down to a last-second field goal.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Buffalo Bills Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

Do your best NFL bets Week 1 of the 2024 season include the Arizona Cardinals or Buffalo Bills? As a 6-point favorite, the Bills would likely see most of the money against the spread and on the moneyline.

The NFL Week 1 odds for this matchup have fluctuated in favor of the Cardinals, and some recent money has pushed the line back up. The Bills opened as a 7-point favorite, and the spread dropped as low as 5.5 points. However, Buffalo has edged higher to -6 recently.

Money has been coming in on the Cardinals to cover the spread in this matchup. The Bills opened as a 7-point favorite, and the line continues to move in the Cardinals’ direction!

I do not foresee the Cardinals getting blown out. They should show small gains as a franchise in 2024. However, there are still too many holes to hide in Orchard Park at Highmark Stadium.

This is a long trip across the country to New York for the Cardinals. After a 4-13 season, the Cardinals are likely a six-win team in 2024. Kyler Murray needs a killer instinct for this team to excel, but that remains absent.

Despite public money on the Cardinals recently, I can’t trust Murray on the road in a tough environment in Orchard Park! We know that Josh Allen and the Bills will be motivated, though. The Bills pull away for a 13-point win to cover at Bovada.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Jaguars and Dolphins meet in an all-Florida battle to open the season. Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars are looking to silence the doubters after the team fell short last season. Aside from the total ticking up a point, the NFL Week 1 odds for this matchup haven’t moved since our last update earlier this month!

They went 9-8 and missed the playoffs to give Lawrence head coach Doug Pederson food for thought in the offseason. I expect Lawrence to look more comfortable and have a much better year throwing the ball.

The Dolphins are currently going through a rash of injuries to their defense in the preseason. They’ve had to make some adjustments to their roster due to the multiple players on the injury report, so I expect Lawrence to take advantage of a banged-up secondary.

However, the real concern has to be upfront with the absence of outside linebackers Bradley Chubb and Cameron Goode.

The addition of Arik Armstead to the Jaguars’ defensive line is a significant plus. The former 49er will instantly provide Jacksonville with a big boost against a dangerous Dolphins’ offense. With this in mind, take the points and the Over for your 2024 NFL Week 1 picks!

Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Caleb Williams era starts in Week 1 at Soldier Field. According to the opening NFL Week One odds, Williams and the Bears are a 4-point favorite over the Tennessee Titans.

Last week, the price moved in favor of the Bears slightly from -115 to -120 on the spread over the last two weeks. However, the price has dropped back to -115 odds with recent money backing the Titans to cover.

The Titans are not competing for Super Bowl 59, and probably won’t be a winning team, but I don’t like backing Williams as a 4-point favorite. He will settle in, but the guy’s currently overhyped, leading to an inflated Week 1 line.

In a closely contested low-scoring battle, consider siding with Will Levis and the points at +4. I have the Bears winning by a field goal, but the Titans against the spread!

New England Patriots vs. Cincinnati Bengals Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

There are several new moving parts in Foxborough. After more than two decades, the New England Patriots will have a new head coach. Former linebacker Jerod Mayo is the first Patriots head coach since 2000!

He and the Patriots are down to 8.5-point Week 1 underdogs after opening and staying at +9.5 throughout the summer.

Despite a strong camp from Drake Maye, the Patriots are opting to send veteran Jacoby Brissett under center. In his second stint with the club, Brissett is the safer choice, but Maye is expected to be the future.

With Brissett getting the nod, the Bengals will have plenty of game film to prepare for the 31-year-old. It likely won’t take long for Patriots fans to see the 3rd overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, but Brissett is probably the right choice for Week 1.

The Patriots’ offense isn’t working with a lot, though, and should be too dysfunctional to hang with Joe Burrow and the Bengals.  Defensively, the Patriots should hold tough but should struggle to score.

That said, trading linebacker Matthew Judon doesn’t give the Pats an edge in this matchup. The Bengals by 10 to 14 points is my NFL Week 1 prediction for the season opener at Paycor Stadium. I locked in the Bengals at -7.5 two months ago, but they are still worth considering at -8.5 against the favorite to finish with the worst record in the NFL.

Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

Following a record-breaking NFL rookie season, is C.J. Stroud in for more of the same or will he hit a sophomore slump? With Anthony Richardson back at quarterback for the Colts, this should be a highly entertaining showdown between young QBs.

It should be one of the most entertaining games to open the season, and the 2024 Week 1 betting odds agree that it will be close. Currently, the Texans have a slightly better than 50% implied probability!

Line movement has shifted in favor of the Texans recently. They are up a hook from -2 to -2.5 in August, as the public continues to back Stroud.

Nevertheless, I think the Colts can steal a win at home. Although I like the Texans to win the AFC South, Indianapolis should get off to a quality start in front of the home crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium.

I am leaning towards Richardson and the Colts coming to play at Lucas Oil Stadium. In what should be a nail-biter, so points on the home underdog is a solid value bet. I also anticipate plenty of points on the board in a duel between Stroud and Richardson, so consider the Over for your over/under bets!

Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

Following a 3-15 season, the Panthers are looking to make gains in Bryce Young’s second season. It’s a big year and game for the QB. He has to give the Panthers’ front office some confidence in him being able to run the offense.

I don’t see it happening against the Saints in Week 1, though. Playing behind a porous offensive line doesn’t do Young any favors. The Panthers added a couple of pieces to bolster the line in the offseason, but there are still too many holes.

Saints’ head coach Dennis Allen is the favorite to be the first NFL coach fired during the 2024-25 season. New Orleans has a lot of questions to answer, but they are still leaps and bounds ahead of the Panthers.

Last month, the Saints were favored by -5 to beat the Panthers. However, the public pushed it all the way down to -3.5. Recent support for the Saints has edged it up to -4 as we head into Week 1.

The Saints aren’t my favorite NFL Week 1 bet this week, but they should pull out a six or seven-point win at home.

Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

Several 2024 NFL Week 1 point spreads suggest there will be close games. This is another one of them at MetLife Stadium. In a massive season for Giants’ QB Daniel Jones, he and the Giants opened as a 1-point favorite at home. The line then moved to 3.5, but now public sentiment is down on the Giants!

This is one of the more notable line shifts heading into Week 1. The Vikings appear to be ready to go into New Jersey as the betting favorite at -1.5 after opening as an underdog.

Sam Darnold has been named the starter after the QB fight against rookie J.J. McCarthy ended abruptly, with the newcomer suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.

Regardless, there is still plenty of uncertainty with the Vikings’ offense. In a low-scoring, ugly slugfest, I’m backing the Giants to pull out the win by a field goal.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Raiders are back in California to open the regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers. It’s going to feel like a home game for the Raiders at SoFi Stadium.

I expect to see more of their fans in attendance. Does this mean you should include the Raiders in your 2024 NFL Week 1 predictions?

I don’t know if it will have a major impact, but the Chargers should have some growing pains early in the season. They have a completely new-look offense under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Bettors have faded the Chargers this week, as they’ve shifted from a 3.5-point favorite to 3 at Bovada.

Keenan Allen is out and Harbaugh wants to implement a more run-heavy system. I see it working, but not right away. At the very least, I don’t want to lay more than a field goal on the new-look Chargers!

It will eventually come around for Harbaugh; however, Maxx Crosby will likely be too much to handle. There will be a learning curve for the Chargers and Crosby is going to be there to snuff out the mistakes. In a low-scoring contest, consider betting on the Under and Raiders to cover a field goal!

Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Denver Broncos open the season on the road at Seattle. It will be without Wilson, as they’ve moved on from that failed experiment and handed rookie QB Bo Nix the keys.

Will Nix learn quickly in training camp and be ready to lead the Broncos into Seattle? I have my doubts. The Seahawks’ defense will likely be too tough in his NFL regular season debut.

Public bettors have backed the Seahawks over the summer. The line opened at -4.5, jumped up to -6, and settled in at -5.5 after the final preseason game. Now, as we head into game week, the Seahawks are back up to -6.

The Broncos might have the richest NFL owner, but I don’t see it helping them here!

Look for Geno Smith and the Seahawks to roll at home in this spot, so lay the -5.5 points on the favorite!

Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Dallas Cowboys will try again after more playoff failures in 2023. Can we trust the Cowboys on the road in a hostile environment in Week 1? The Week One NFL odds have flipped on the Cowboys since they opened, so not the best sign! This is even with CeeDee Lamb coming to terms with the organization on a new deal after holding out in the preseason.

The Cowboys were a 2-point favorite in June, and now they are on the other side as a 2.5-point underdog. I played the Browns back then at top value. However, there is still an argument to be made about laying the points on Cleveland.

Myles Garrett will be the difference in this one, while Deshaun Watson should hold up and be healthy for at least the season opener. For your opening week 2024 NFL predictions, I recommend including the Browns on your card.

Washington Commanders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The Washington Commanders open on the road against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad that wasn’t expected to amount to much last year. However, Baker Mayfield took over after Tom Brady’s retirement and led the Buccaneers to the playoffs.

I expect the Buccaneers to regress slightly from their 9-8 campaign. They may also look past electric rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. There is a new era in Washington, and the club should be in good hands with Daniels under center.

The point spread has continued to move in favor of the Commanders throughout the summer. After opening as a 4-point favorite, the line is down to only a field goal!

Look for a motivated Commanders squad to surprise onlookers with a strong showing in Week 1. Daniels’ dual-threat ability should give the Bucs’ defense some issues out of the gate. Take the points and consider backing them for one of your NFL survivor picks!

Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The NFL betting slate in Week 1 includes an epic Sunday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford made his first return to Ford Field in the playoffs and played well, but it wasn’t enough with a 24-23 loss in the Wild Card Round.

This year, Stafford comes back for the regular season opener in Detroit. The environment should be less hostile, but it is expected to be loud. Nevertheless, this should go down to the wire again, with the Lions escaping with a win!

Much of the roster that went to the NFC Championship is back for the Lions, including new contracts for Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jared Goff. They should pull it off, 30-27, but I don’t want to lay more than three points against a motivated Stafford.

New York Jets vs. San Francisco 49ers Odds, Prediction, Best Bets

The New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers square off in the first edition of Monday Night Football in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers is expected to make his much-anticipated return after tearing his Achilles on the first drive of the season in 2023.

Online bookies have been writing more Jets tickets than 49ers as of late. The 49ers are down to -3.5 after going into August as 5-point favorites.

One big reason is that left tackle Trent Williams is not expected to return to the team until his contract situation is resolved. That would be a big hole missing from the offensive line, directly having an impact on Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey’s results.

The Jets’ offensive line struggles were well-documented last season, and they’ll likely go through growing pains. That said, Williams’ absence on the 49ers’ line is too big of a concern to me.  Brandon Aiyuk will play after a long holdout with the 49ers, but Williams is still in limbo as the season opener approaches.
