ATP US Open 2024 Tennis Odds: Will Alcaraz or Nole Prevail?

21-year-old Alcaraz is the future and the present of men’s tennis. With Djokovic and Rafael Nadal nearing retirement, Alcaraz is set to be the focal point and face of the ATP Tour.

There has already been a shift in the landscape, but it will officially be complete once the older generation moves on. The question is who will be there to give Alcaraz a huge challenge?

Right now, Djokovic is the only consistent rival that makes Alcaraz sweat in the major events!

Sinner won the 2024 Australian Open and figures to be Alcaraz’s long-term rival. However, the Spaniard is currently in a league of his own against the other young players.

Alcaraz enters with a record of 33-6 on the ATP Tour in 2024. He’s won two of his last three tournaments — both Grand Slams at Wimbledon and the French Open. The Spaniard also has a Masters 1000 title from the Indian Wells back in March on a hard court.

He is capable of winning on any surface, including hard courts. Alcaraz owns a 13-2 record on them in 2024. Combined with a mark of 34-9 last year, Alcaraz is 47-11 through his previous 58 matches on hard courts.

The most accomplished player on the ATP Tour is none other than the unflappable Serbian. At 37 years old, Djokovic is showing no signs of retiring. That being said, he is still searching for his first ATP Tour win in 2024.

Djokovic has come up short in eight tournaments, including a semifinal loss to Sinner in the Australian Open and a straight-set defeat to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon finals. He was forced to withdraw from the French Open with a right knee injury.

Despite the letdowns for Djokovic this year, he appears to be in top form in the Olympics. He cruised into the quarterfinals following three wins in straight sets.

Additionally, the US Open has always been a signature tournament for Djokovic, too. He is only one win away from joining Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, and Jimmy Connors as the only men to win the US Open five times in their career.

Sinner’s biggest problem isn’t talent, but rather his ability to stay healthy. The latest injury concern for Sinner is tonsillitis, ultimately forcing him to miss the Olympics.

He is expected to be fine for the US Open and play at the National Bank Open in Montreal, but it’s just another example of Sinner struggling with ailments and how fragile he can be.

Sinner is ranked No. 1 on the ATP Tour with 9,570 points, but I don’t consider him a stronger player than Alcaraz and Djokovic right now. I need better betting value than +225 to pick Sinner to win US Open 2024!
