Forever Young enters as the odds-on favorite to win the 2025 Dubai World Cup at horse racing betting sites. At -175 odds, Forever Young has a 63.64% implied probability to win the event.

He’s the clear horse to beat at Meydan Racecourse in what you could say is a relatively weak field. Aside from Forever Young, there aren’t any true contenders. That being said, Imperial Emperor (+500) is the next likeliest winner with a 16.67% implied chance of winning.

Walk Of Stars (+750) has the third shortest Dubai World Cup odds after winning the 2025 Al Maktoum Challenge (Gr. 1) in January. He should be in the mix, so you can’t discount his chances on a clean run!

Dubai World Cup Key Info

The 2025 Dubai World Cup is scheduled for Saturday, April 5. Post time for the race is set for 12:50 p.m. ET. The race covers 1 ¼ miles on the dirt, with 3+ year olds eligible to participate.

As one of the richest horse races in the world, the event comes with a staggering US$12 million purse. The entire nine-race card comes equipped with $30.5 million in prize money.

There are 11 horses currently entered as probable to run, including four American runners: Hit Show, Mixto, Il Miracolo, and Katonah.

Dubai World Cup 2025 Betting Favorites

Three favorites stand above the rest of the field in the Dubai World Cup in 2025. Let’s break down each of these wonderful horses and their team before delving into our best Dubai World Cup picks:

Forever Young (-175)

Japan’s Forever Young is back and ready for another huge win on his resume. The Saudi Cup (Gr. 1) winner has been at the forefront of the biggest races in the world.

Earlier this year, Forever Young overtook Romantic Warrior in the stretch to win by a neck to win the richest horse race in the world. With a $20 million purse, 50% of the winnings went to Forever Young’s team and connections.

Owner Susumu Fujita has a special horse in Forever Young, and the winning form is unlikely to stop at Meydan Racecourse. In addition to the Saudi Cup win, Forever Young won the Tokyo Daishoten (Gr. 1) two races back in Japan.

Despite Forever Young’s failed bids in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, the colt placed 3rd against tough fields. He posted strong speed figures of 109 and 113, and looked good in competitive races.

Also, Forever Young has won everywhere else that he’s run in his career! His two losses have both come in the US, with a perfect mark in Japan and the Middle East.

Overall, Forever Young sports a win rate of 80% at 8/10. He is by far the most accomplished horse in the field and the rightful favorite to win the 2025 Dubai World Cup!

Jockey Ryusei Sakai and Forever Young make for a formidable duo and are the class of the stable at Meydan Racecourse this weekend.

Imperial Emperor (+500)

Five-year-old gelding Imperial Emperor will give it a go for the top prize at Meydan Racecourse. Imperial Emperor needs to be in top form, but he should be involved in the stretch run.

The Irish runner has been running from 2023 to 2025 and has some notable wins. That includes a victory on March 1 in the 2025 Al Maktoum Classic (Gr. 2) at Meydan Racecourse.

Meydan Racecourse is not a foreign track for Imperial Emperor. This has been his home track since January 2024. He’s won two races on this surface since then, with a victory in a 2024 Handicap event in November.

Following the 2024 Handicap victory, Imperial Emperor settled for 2nd place behind Walk Of Stars in the 2025 Al Maktoum Classic (Gr. 1).

A repeat performance won’t be enough to spoil Forever Young’s run, so top form is required to take the crown. He’s been inconsistent, finishing 1st, 2nd, 1st, 11th, 3rd, and 5th through the last five trips.

Imperial Emperor can win, but it may require a bit of help along the way and a favorable post position.

Walk Of Stars (+750)

Should Walk Of Stars be the second favorite to win on Saturday? According to the latest Dubai World Cup betting odds, the horse is behind Imperial Emperor to win.

That said, Walk Of Stars recently one-upped Imperial Emperor in the 2025 Al Maktoum Challenge (Gr. 1). He was in solid form in a stretch from March to January, with three 2nd-place finishes and two victories.

Bhupat Seemar’s horse must find similar form to get into the running for the 2025 Dubai World Cup. We didn’t see it in the Saudi Cup. The six-year-old British gelding faded to the back of the field and went across the wire in 12th place.

This is one of those horses that can get into contention depending on which horse shows up. He struggled early in his career, started heating up last spring, and now, after a 12th-place showing in the Saudi Cup, it’s tough to say.

I find that there is better value for your best Saudi World Cup bets on some of the longshots!

Top Sleepers for the Dubai World Cup 2025

It’s important to include a couple of dark horses on your card to win the Dubai World Cup! Let’s break down the top sleeper 2025 Dubai World Cup picks below:

  1. 1. Hit Show (+2800)

Hit Show’s +2800 odds to win the Dubai World Cup translate to just a 3.45% implied probability! However, the way I see it, Brad Cox’s Hit Show should be priced a little more favorably.

Cox wouldn’t be interested in flying the American-bred four-year-old with Flavien Prat if he didn’t think he had a shot. Hit Show ran in the Kentucky Derby two years ago and held up well for a 5th-place performance.

Since then, he’s entered 10 stakes races and had mixed results, but overall, is a solid runner. Hit Show has won four of his previous six attempts entering the Dubai World Cup. That includes a victory in the Louisiana Stakes (Gr. 3) on Jan. 18.

Most recently, Hit Show placed 3rd in the Santa Anita Handicap (Gr. 1) against a tough field. With a speed figure of 92, he’s capable of more than that race. Hit Show was clocked at 110, 108, and 106 in three of his previous five starts. That would put him close in the stretch!

In short, Hit Show has fantastic value for your Dubai World Cup betting picks at +2800 odds!

  2. 2. Mixto (+2800)

Mixto is another American runner being shipped to Dubai from overseas. Trained by Doug F. O’Neill, Mixto has entered some of the biggest assignments in the US.

Five of Mixto’s 17 events are Grade 1 races, including the Santa Anita Handicap, Pegasus World Cup, and Breeders’ Cup Classic. He struck in the Pacific Classic Stakes (Gr. 1) on August 31, 2024, at Del Mar, so Mixto already has a Grade 1 win in his portfolio.

He reached a speed figure of 113 in that race, which puts him in solid territory for this one. In fact, Mixto has posted a speed figure of 100+ in eight of his previous 11 events! He most recently finished 4th in the Pegasus World Cup (Gr. 1) on Jan. 25.

That was a tough run, but Mixto held up fairly well against a field that included White Abarrio. In other words, the horse is worth checking out at +2800!

Dubai World Cup 2025 Predictions and Betting Pick

The Dubai World Cup features one horse head and shoulders above the rest. If Forever Young is interested in running on Saturday, then the rest of the field is going to be fighting for the consolation prize.

Many horse racing fans were looking forward to a rematch between Forever Young and Romantic Warrior. However, Romantic Warrior won’t be running, so that leaves Forever Young almost alone in his own class.

Imperial Emperor and Walk Of Stars have shown they can run a strong race and compete with some of the best in the world. That being said, consistency is an issue, while Forever Young has never taken a race off. Trainer Yoshito Yahagi always has the horse in top form.

Along with the longshot Dubai World Cup 2025 picks mentioned above, consider riding with Forever Young to take the No. 1 position and grand prize! In short, I anticipate a one or two-length victory for Forever Young.
