Shohei Ohtani Odds – Prop Bets and Picks for This Season

You can find Shohei Ohtani odds for various historic achievements the star is pursuing this year. In his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ohtani is second in the majors with 44 homers, fifth with 99 RBIs, 14th with a .292 average, and tied for second with 46 stolen bases (as of September 4). How far can he go and are there potentially profitable Ohtani prop bets available online?

I have different Shohei Ohtani betting odds and props to analyze, as he is in reach of setting a massive milestone in Major League Baseball. I’ll examine all of the odds, and give you my picks at the end of each section.

Shohei Ohtani Odds to Record 50+ Home Runs and 50+ Steals

OPTIONODDS
Yes-200
No+150

Only six players ever have joined baseball’s 40/40 club, which is 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season:

  • Jose Canseco (1988)
  • Barry Bonds (1996)
  • Alex Rodriguez (1998)
  • Alfonso Soriano (2006)
  • Ronald Acuna Jr. (2023)
  • Shohei Ohtani (2024)

Ohtani is looking to start his own club, and become the first player to get 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. BetOnline has odds for whether the Dodgers’ superstar can reach that historic plateau.

Just 12 hours after those lines were released, it has shifted to Yes at -200, while No is +150.  As of September 4, ahead of the Dodgers’ meeting with Ohtani’s old team, the Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani had 44 home runs and 46 stolen bases. The Dodgers have 23 games remaining in the season, and Ohtani has missed just three games so far in 2024.

The Dodgers are also trying to hold off San Diego in the National League West. Ohtani has also hit 12 home runs in two of the last three months of the season, and had 27 stolen bases in July and August. He has three steals through the first three days of September. I’m betting on Ohtani to hit both marks and kick off the 50/50 club.

The Bet
YES

Ohtani Total Home Runs Betting Odds and Prediction

OPTIONODDS
Over 50.5-150
Under 50.5+110

At -150, Over 50.5 home runs is favored for Ohtani, who needs seven homers over the last 23 games to get to that benchmark. His worst month was July, when Ohtani hit six homers in 91 at-bats. He already has 12 at-bats in September with no homers, so Ohtani is off to a slow start.

However, the Dodgers have six games against Colorado, who have allowed the second-most homers in the majors. Miami and Cleveland are also around the bottom-third of the majors in homers allowed, and the Dodgers have six games against them. I’m quite confident Ohtani will go over 50.5 homers.

Shohei Ohtani Prop Bet: Total Steals

OPTIONODDS
Over 52.5 Steals-120
Under 52.5 Steals-120

The Shohei Ohtani odds for total steals are equal, both valued at -120. But the over is looking very good right now.

Ohtani needs seven steals to get to 53, and he stole three bases against Arizona on September 2. As was mentioned, Ohtani has been on fire on the base paths, stealing 27 bases in July and August. Over 52.5 steals seems like a lock to me, and I’m recommending a solid wager on this Shohei Ohtani betting market.

The Bet
OVER 52.5 STEALS

Where to Bet on Shohei Ohtani Odds?

In closing, here are my recommendations for these Shohei Ohtani prop bets:

  • Yes to Record 50+ Home Runs and 50+ Stolen Bases (-200)
  • Over 50.5 Home Runs (-150)
  • Over 52.5 Stolen Bases (-120)

It seems easy to go all chalk with Ohtani, but if you’ve seen him, you know he’s that good, and those odds are favored for a reason.
