Patrick Mahomes Over 33.5 Passing TDs (-125)
The Kansas City Chiefs can make history this season by becoming the first team to win three consecutive Vince Lombardi trophies. Before they can think about winning Super Bowl 59, though, Patrick Mahomes and company need to get through the regular season.
The QB and the offense had a down year last season, with the two-time MVP finishing with just 27 passing touchdowns and 4,183 yards.
It was Mahomes’ worst season since 2019 when he finished with 26 passing touchdowns and 4.031 passing yards. The superstar delivered at least 37 passing touchdowns and 4,740 yards every other season of his career as a starter.
Part of the reason for Mahomes’ having a down year was the lack of weapons. Star TE Travis Kelce looked every bit like a player in his mid-30s, and the team’s best wide receiver was rookie Rashee Rice. Kansas City added Hollywood Brown and drafted speedster Xavier Worthy, giving Mahomes two new, exciting weapons to work with.
All signs point toward a bounce back year from Mahomes. He may not be the best 2024-2025 MVP bet but should be able to rack up close to 35 passing TDs this season.
BetUS has Mahomes listed at over/under 33.5 passing TDs, with the over available at -125. Given his NFL history so far, I believe that barring injury, he is a lock to cover the over on this NFL player prop futures bet.
Josh Allen Over 3,750.5 Passing Yards (-115)
Another MVP candidate entering this season is Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Buffalo’s quarterback will be under the most pressure he has ever faced in his young career. The team lost multiple starters this offseason, including wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis.
Allen has passed for over 4,280 yards each of the last four years, a streak that coincides with Diggs joining the team. Continuing the streak in the post-Diggs era will be challenging, but Allen also has new wide receivers to work with. Buffalo drafted FSU wide receiver Keon Coleman and signed Curtis Samuel.
Last year’s first-round pick, TE Dalton Kincaid, should also be better this year, providing Allen with another great target. The QB needs to build chemistry with his new playmakers if the Bills want to compete for the AFC East title. If he does, Allen should be able to get close to 4,000 passing yards again and be in the MVP conversation at the end of the year.
Another factor to consider is that the Bills defense lost many of its starters from a year ago. If the defense takes a step back, then Allen and the offense will have no choice but to be more productive.
Bovada has Allen listed at over/under 3,750.5 passing yards in its NFL futures player props. The -115 odds for the over look very promising for a quarterback that should hit the 4,000 mark.
CeeDee Lamb Under 1,325.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
The Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb finally agreed on a contract extension for the former first-rounder. Lamb has been one of the most productive receivers since he entered the league.
According to Statmuse, Lamb, a 2020 first-round pick, has totaled the following stats in the last four years:
- 5,145 receiving yards (5th most)
- 395 receptions (5th most)
- 568 targets (5th most)
- 0 yards per game (8th most)
- 32 receiving TDs (8th most)
Last season was Lamb’s best year in the NFL, as he finished with a career-high 1,740 receiving yards and a league-leading 135 receptions. Repeating his success from last year will be easier said than done.
The Cowboys run game is poised to take a step back, allowing defenses to sell out against the pass. Lamb also missed all of training camp and the preseason due to his contract dispute.
The lack of proper preparation will almost certainly impact Lamb’s conditioning at the start of the season. It could also have a negative impact on his chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott. If his holdout results in a slow start, it will be challenging for Lamb to surpass 1,350 receiving yards for the third consecutive season.
BetOnline has Lamb listed at over/under 1,350.5 receiving yards this season. Both options are available at -115, and I would side with the under on this total yards prop bet.
Laiatu Latu Under 7.25 Sacks (-131)
You can also make NFL player prop futures on defensive players. For instance, Laiatu Latu is one of the leading contenders for the 2024-2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He was the first defensive player drafted in April, going to the Colts with the 15th overall pick.
Latu overcame a severe neck injury in college and could have a great career in the NFL if he stays healthy. However, he could struggle to see playing time on a talented Colts’ defense.
DEs Samson Ebukam and Kwity Paye led the team last year with 9.5 and 8,5 sacks, respectively. Ebukam is out for the year with a torn Achilles, but Latu still must compete with Dayo Odeyingbo and Tyquan Lewis for playing time.
With that in mind, I am leaning toward the under on 2024-2025 NFL futures player props for Latu. He did have 23.5 total sacks his last two seasons in college, but it will be a big step up in competition from the Pac-12 to the NFL.
MyBookie has Laiatu Latu listed at over/under 7.25 sacks for his rookie season. Latu has to compete with multiple talented edge rushers for snaps and racking up more than seven sacks as a rookie is a tall task. I would take the under on this total at -131 odds.
Caleb Williams Over 23.5 Passing TDs (-115)
The fifth and final spot on my list of the best 2024-2025 NFL player future props goes to the first overall pick, Caleb Williams. Chicago drafted Williams, who will have plenty of talent to work with in the Windy City.
Predictions for Williams’s first year range from him being a bust to the rookie leading the Bears to the Super Bowl. Regardless of the team’s final record, the Bears wide receiver room should allow Williams to put up plenty of touchdowns. Their roster includes D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze.
No quarterback has ever thrown for 30+ touchdowns in a single season in Chicago’s history. However, I believe Williams has a chance to end that streak in his first season. He could also become the first Chicago quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 passing yards in a single season.
Williams had 93 passing touchdowns in college, including 72 TDs in the two years he played at USC. On the other hand, only five quarterbacks have passed for 24 or more touchdowns as a rookie. Four of those five have happened since 2012, though, and the league is more pass-heavy than ever before.
