There are 14 teams that made the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs and 14 games left this NFL season. The postseason begins with the six Wild Card games on Super Wild Card weekend where six teams will win and advance on in the 2023 NFL Playoff bracket with six others.
The seven teams that made the Playoffs in the AFC are the AFC West champion Chiefs (#1 seed), the AFC East champion Bills (#2), the AFC North winning Bengals (#3 ), the AFC South champion Jaguars (#4), and the Wild Card Chargers (#5), Ravens (#6), and Dolphins (#7).
Kansas City earned a Bye with the best record in the AFC. Buffalo will host Miami, defending AFC champions Cincinnati will host Baltimore and Jacksonville will welcome the Chargers to the Sunshine State on Saturday night to see who survives.
The Chiefs will play the remaining Wild Card round weekend winner who is the lowest seed in the next round. If both the Bills and Bengals win, they would collide in the NFC Divisional Playoffs round on Saturday/Sunday, January 21-22.
The seven teams that made the Playoffs over in the NFC are the NFC East champion Eagles (#1 seed), the NFC West champion 49ers (#2), the NFC North winning Vikings (#3 ), the NFC South champion Buccaneers (#4), and the Wild Card Cowboys (#5), Giants (#6), and Seahawks (#7).
Philadelphia earned the Bye with the best record in the NFC. San Francisco will host Seattle, Minnesota will play host to the New York Giants and Tampa Bay will be welcoming the Cowboys to the Sunshine State on Monday night in a Tom Brady-Dak Prescott showdown.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will play the Wild Card round weekend winner with the lowest seed remaining in the Divisional round. If both the 49ers and Vikings are victorious in the NFL Playoff bracket, they would meet in the NFC Divisional Playoffs in Santa Clara.
Let’s take a look at the 14 teams in the NFL Playoff bracket 2023, handicap what they are all up against this upcoming Wild Card weekend, offer odds from NFL betting sites and make some 2023 NFL Playoff bracket predictions.

2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: The Bills earned the No. 2 seed with an emotional 35-23 win over the Patriots at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park in Week 18 to finish the NFL Regular Season with a 13-3 mark with Buffalo capturing its 7th straight win.
In the wake of the Damar Hamlin injury against the Bengals a week ago on Monday Night Football, the Bills started off on the right foot with Nyheim Hines returning the opening kickoff for a TD before he did it again in the 2nd Half, blowing the minds of the fans, announcers, and teammates.
QB Josh Allen and the Bills were workmanlike in the win, but establishing a running game against the Patriots was difficult so Devin Singletary, James Cook, and Allen will have to be more productive rushing the football against Miami (6-1 ATS L7 vs AFC East) on Sunday.
The Special Teams, Defense and WR Stefon Diggs (7 Receptions, 104 Receiving yards, TD) were all brilliant for Buffalo who will not only be inspired by what happened to their teammate Hamlin last week, but also by what happened to them collectively against the Chiefs in the 2021-22 Playoffs.
Miami limps into this Wild Card round with a 9-6 win over the Jets at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday but with the Winter weather and questions on if Tua Tagovailoa and/or Teddy Bridgewater will be ready and Skylar Thompson the only answer, Miami is in real trouble.
Talking heads will point to the fact that the Fish played the Bills (8-7-1 ATS) tough this season, but the reality is that that was then and this is now. Miami (9-8 ATS)—like fellow Florida NFL teams Jacksonville and Tampa Bay—is really lucky to be in the NFL Playoffs.
Buffalo should find a way to score four TDs and a couple of FGs to win here and make sure they get another home game at Highmark Stadium to play to go to the AFC Championship Game where they may meet the top-seeded Chiefs at a neutral Site after what we all witnessed last week.
The Bills are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games against Miami. The Over is a profitable 11-5 in the last 16 series meetings and 7-1 in the last eight meetings played in Orchard Park.

AFC No. 3 Seed Cincinnati Bengals vs. No. 6 Baltimore Ravens
- What: AFC Wild Card
- When: Sunday, January 15
- Time: 8:15 EST/7:15 CST/5:15 am PST
- TV: NBC, Peacock
- Site: Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
- Odds: Bengals -6½ (BetOnline)
- Total: 43½
- Money Line: Bills -290, Dolphins +245
2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: Cincinnati has been the one of the four hottest teams in the NFL in the 2nd Half—along with the Chiefs, Bills, and 49ers—and the Bengals have won 8 in a row heading into this AFC North rivalry Wild Card matchup against Baltimore.
This handicap is eerily similar to the Bills-Dolphins. Two teams from the same division meeting in the opening round of the Postseason with the Homefield Advantage greater than gold and the visiting and underdog teams having health and availability issues at the QB position.
Remember when we all couldn’t get Lysol?
For the Ravens, the talk is whether or not Lamar Jackson will be available, but I don’t think that really matters at this point. Cincinnati (12-3-1 ATS) is on a roll, winners of 8 straight games and the Bengals are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games played at Paycor Stadium in the Queen City.
Cincinnati (6-0 ATS L6 January) just beat this Ravens team, 27-16 in Week 18 and Joe Burrow and the Bengals have gone 10-1 since losing to Baltimore (1-7-1 ATS L9 vs AFC), The Bengals are also 8-3 ATS in the last 11 series meetings, so expecting a double-digit win and advancing makes sense.
If the higher seeds win in all of the AFC Wild Card games this coming weekend, then Cincinnati would travel to Buffalo next weekend in the NFL Divisional Playoffs round in what would be one of the biggest games of the season and a tough draw for both of these talented football teams.

2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: The Chargers were all the way up to 2½-point favorites for this AFC Wild Card game late Sunday night, but by Monday morning, the Point Spread had leveled out to a Pick ‘em situation due to heavy Sharp money on the Home team, the Jaguars.
Jacksonville has allowed just 25 points in its last three games, but the way this team slid into the Playoffs seems cheap, a little like the other two teams from the Sunshine State who will be playing this Super Wild Card weekend, the Dolphins (9-8) and the Buccaneers (8-9).
Combined, the three teams from Florida are just 26-25, but they are somehow hosting two Wild Card games. Things from Florida, including dangling chads, alligators in mini marts, and the shape of the state are always weird so if we see a Buccaneers-Jaguars Super Bowl, you were warned.
The Jaguars win on Saturday over the Titans put them in the Playoffs, while the Chargers knew they were in but were just waiting to see who they would be playing and where.
The Chargers are 9-4 vs. the Jaguars all-time-and Jacksonville beat them 38-10 earlier this season. Justin Herbert will want to establish a decent pass game, but against the speed of the Jaguars defense,it may be too hard to consistently hold on to possession of the football on Saturday.

2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: San Francisco has proven that it can win at Home or Away or with Trey Lance, Jimmy G or Brock Purdy. And against the NFC West, the Niners are an unblemished 6-0. Against Seattle, San Francisco is 2-0 ATS and held the Seahawks to just 10 ppg.
With RB Christian McCaffrey in the bay now and WR Deebo Samuel back and TE George Kittles doing his thing, this offense doesn’t need a star QB. It’s funny that the teams with Brady, Rodgers, Prescott, Murray, MVP candidate Hurts and Stafford were scared of the team with Brock Purdy.
San Francisco has the best defense in the NFL (277 PA), and the old adage is that defense wins championships. Geno Smith and the Seahawks were lucky to make the Wild Card round and San Francisco isn’t going to let Seattle rain on its parade or current momentum. This team is great.
Seattle is 15-7-1 ATS in the last 23 series meetings but those were quality Seahawks teams playing before the best Home crowd in the NFL and those days are long gone, with iconic QB Russell Wilson now aging with the Broncos. The Seahawks are really lucky to still be playing this season.
NFC No. 3 Seed Minnesota Vikings vs. No. 6 Seed New York Giants
- What: NFC Wild Card
- When: Sunday, January 15
- Time: 4:25 EST/3:25 CST/1:25 PST
- TV: FOX
- Site: US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Odds: Vikings -3 -113 (BetOnline)
- Total: 47½
- Money Line: Vikings -165, Giants +135
2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: The Giants have known that they qualified for the NFC Wild Card for a while, and Head Coach Brian Daboll has been using his personnel, like RB, with that in mind.
Both Minnesotal (424 PF-427 PA) and New York (365 PF-371 PA) head in with negative Point Differentials, so it’s easy to say that there are some bad teams in the 14 alive in the NFL Postseason with the Dolphins and Seahawks lucky to be here and TB finishing under .500.
QB Kirk Cousins, RB Dalvin Cook, and WR Justin Jefferson give Minnesota three dependable players on offense, but the NFC North was down this season with the cheeseheads showing signs of aging and da bears ending up with the worst record in the NFL (3-145 L10 consecutive games).
The NFL Wild Card odds see the Vikings as 3-point favorites and oddsmakers likely won’t want to move it off that key number and risk much exposure in this game.
Minnesota is the better team and will have the crucial crowd edge here and a bad call against the Commanders helped the Giants get to this point, so despite the wonderful start and positivity, this is a team living a charmed life. Whoever gets the winner of this game will be really fortunate.

- Odds: Cowboys -2½ -120 (BetOnline)

- Money Line: Cowboys -147, Buccaneers +127
2023 NFL Playoff Bracket Predictions: Because the Bucs won the NFC South, they get to host a Wild Card game while the Cowboys, Giants, Seahawks, and even the Lions had a better Regular Season record than Tampa Bay at 8-9.
But the Bucs (3-12-1 ATS) and Tom Brady don’t care. They are in the Playoffs.
This NFC showdown from the Sunshine State between Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys and the Buccaneers will be good football theater and a nice way to end the Super Wild Card weekend. You can’t beat NFL Playoffs football on a Monday night.
But these two teams were less than consistent this season with one having trouble scoring points and the other seemingly no problem, that is until they faced the mighty Washington Commanders and get shut down when they actually had a chance at the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
Let’s all take a moment to laugh at the Cowboys.
The survivor of this game might end up playing the NFC’s top seed in the bracket, the Eagles, at Lincoln Financial Field in the NFC Divisional round next weekend. Dallas (1-4 ATS on Grass) has much more trouble on Grass and will be coming off its worst performance of the season.
Anything can happen in this one, and the Homefield Advantage doesn’t seem as strong noise-wise here as it does surface-wise. This could devolve into a low-scoring slog where a crucial late TO or mistake sends someone packing.
The series trends show the Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in the last five series meetings but the Road team has gone a perfect 4-0 ATS and the underdog is 6-1 ATS over the last seven meetings, so something’s gotta give.
The Remaining 2022-23 NFL Playoff Schedule
The NFL Divisional Round will be held next weekend on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 with the final eight teams playing and then paring down to four. The AFC and NFC Championship games between these final four will be contested Sunday, January 29.
The 2022 NFL Pro Bowl will be held on Sunday, February 5 at Allegiant Stadium here in Las Vegas in the dead week between the two conference championship games and the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LVII will see the AFC and NFC champions collide at State Farm Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, February 12 (FOX).
