AEW World Championship Match – MJF vs. Bryan Danielson

WrestlerOdds
MJF (champion)-5000
Bryan Danielson+900

The AEW World Championship match is a 60-minute Iron Man match. Bryan Danielson enters as the challenger seeking a huge betting upset over MJF.

This isn’t Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 12, but this should be a fairly entertaining match. Can MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman) and Danielson hold the crowd’s attention for an hour, though?

Danielson is 41 years old and up against a 26-year-old MJF. Danielson always gives a full effort in anything he does inside the squared circle. However, he will have to dig deep in the final minutes against MJF, who will most likely use some underhanded tactic to win.

There’s absolutely no value in backing MJF to win at -5000. That being said, is there any chance that Khan wants to see MJF lose the strap at AEW Revolution?

AEW Prediction

The egotistical MJF won the AEW World Championship title in November at AEW Full Gear. He defeated Jon Moxley for his first run as the title holder in AEW1. The heel will take on Moxley’s stablemate, in the former WWE fan favorite who wrestled under the name of Daniel Bryan.

Danielson completed his rapid rise to prominence with a win at WrestleMania 30 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He had to get through Randy Orton, Batista, and Triple H to win the title in 20142. His popularity went through the roof, but injuries derailed his final years with the WWE.

Will Khan make Danielson the face of AEW with a title win at Revolution just like the WWE did at WM 30? Putting the strap on a 41-year-old Danielson rather than continuing to push MJF would make little sense.

MJF is not losing the belt in the foreseeable future. The top heel in AEW should win and move on to a fresh rivalry.

AEW World Trios Championship Match – The Elite vs. House of Black

Tag TeamOdds
The Elite (champions)-220
House of Black+155

It was recently announced that The Elite would be defending their World Trios Championship titles against House of Black3.

The match came to fruition after the House of Black surrounded the Young Bucks against Aussie Open on AEW Rampage. The lights went out in the arena, and the House of Black were nowhere to be found when they came back on.

The Elite stable, which is comprised of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, are favored to defend their titles. BetOnline has The Elite listed at -220 to win.

The three-member tag team titles have been in their possession since beating the Death Triangle in a best-of-seven bout on an episode of Dynamite in January4.

This is the second World Trios Championship reign for The Elite.

AEW Prediction

The House of Black consists of Brody King, Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart. Malakai is best known for his time in WWE as Aleister Black.

He was released from WWE in June 20215, and soon after picked up by AEW. WWE didn’t know how to get the most out of his character. The verdict is still out on AEW.

AEW likely doesn’t have intentions to make The Elite long-standing champions. They’ve already dropped the World Trios Championships once in the past due to the backstage fight with CM Punk last September.

After winning the belts back at L.A. Dynamite in January, their second stint as champs probably won’t last much longer. Dare we say the lights are about to go out on The Elite’s title reign at Revolution? The House of Black is worth a look at +155.

AEW Women’s Championship Match – Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho vs. Saraya

WrestlersOdds
Jamie Hayter (champion)-1250
Ruby Soho+400
Saraya+500

The AEW Women’s Championship match is one of the biggest bouts on the AEW Revolution card.

Jamie Hayter will defend her AEW Women’s Championship against Ruby Soho and Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE. The challengers are not expected to win on Sunday night.

The AEW World Championship was not the only strap to change hands at AEW Full Gear last year. Hayter also defeated Toni Storm to win the women’s title in November at the pay-per-view6.

AEW Prediction

Toni Storm and Saraya have formed an alliance in the AEW women’s division. Storm is not on the card for this match, but don’t be surprised if she gets involved.

Expect Storm to interfere during the match. If it doesn’t happen during the bout, Storm might be in the ring after the match finishes.

How do we see this one playing out? Look for Hayter to retain the title at AEW Revolution. The odds at -1250 don’t look too attractive, but Ruby Soho and Saraya do not need the belt right now.

Saraya will win the women’s title at some point. However, we do not anticipate it happening on Sunday night. Saraya needs to put in more work with AEW before going that high on the totem pole.

Hayter wins a close match, though she might be on the receiving end of a beatdown following the final bell. The best bet for the AEW Women’s Championship is on Hayter to retain the title.

JAMIE HAYTER

AEW TNT Championship Match – Wardlow vs. Samoa Joe

WrestlerOdds
Wardlow-1000
Samoa Joe (champion)+500

Samoa Joe will look to defend his TNT Championship title against Wardlow on Sunday night. Despite going into AEW Revolution as the champ, he is not favored to win.

In fact, the AEW Revolution betting odds have Wardlow as a healthy favorite at -1000. The 35-year-old former bodyguard of MJF is etching out a career of his own as a singles performer.

Wardlow had a tryout with NXT in 2018, but did not do enough to attract a contract7. Despite not having an opportunity to appear in the WWE promotion, Wardlow is making a mark in AEW.

Samoa Joe has won the TNT title twice since AEW Full Gear in November. He defeated Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs in a three-way match to become the new TNT champ8.

Samoa Joe recaptured the title after beating Darby Allin on AEW Dynamite a month ago9. However, the oddsmakers believe that the veteran will have a short title reign this time around.

AEW Prediction

Wardlow has come a long way as a wrestler and entertainer since WWE didn’t like what they saw during his NXT tryout.

He is one of the biggest babyfaces that AEW has at the moment. Wardlow grew into the role fairly organically after his run as MJF’s bodyguard.

Winning the AEW TNT Championship is another big step forward in his ascension of AEW. Hopefully, this second TNT title reign will be more productive for Wardlow than the first one. The big man is poised for a move up the proverbial ladder this year.

Expect the TNT Championship to be the only title switching waists in San Francisco.

Texas Death Match – “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley

WrestlersOdds
Adam Page-600
Jon Moxley+350

Adam Page and Jon Moxley are slated to have a violent Texas Death Match at AEW Revolution and there will be plenty of blood as Moxley has become synonymous with blading.

In this Texas Death Match, you can expect Moxley and Page to both be on the receiving end of some vicious physicality and brutal spots.

The two men have been feuding for the last few months with both of them sustaining real and scripted injuries during their ongoing storyline. Will AEW go that route again or will we finally get a conclusive finish to this feud?

AEW Prediction

After MJF is done feuding with Danielson, which should be any minute now, he will need a new target. The “Hangman” Adam Page has to be a strong candidate to contend for the AEW World Championship considering he was the champ last year before losing to CM Punk.

This is the third time that Page and Moxley have met in a match since October. Moxley beat Page in October, but he suffered a rare singles loss to Page earlier this year.

Page seeing a push going into AEW Double or Nothing appears likely. Moxley winning doesn’t do as much for these two men as a Page win does. There are a few different angles AEW can take following a Page win, but a feud with MJF seems like the best route.

In a must-watch match at Revolution, Page guts it out for a hard-hitting and physical win.

Singles Match – Ricky Starks vs. Chris Jericho

WrestlersOdds
Ricky Starks-300
Chris Jericho+200

The feud between Ricky Starks and Chris Jericho is expected to come to a thrilling conclusion at AEW Revolution.

Jericho recently noted that when the rivalry between Starks and Jericho began in December, it was designed to last until AEW Revolution10. This looks like the end before Starks likely moves on to a bigger challenge in AEW.

Starks is favored to win the match at -300. Considering the strong praise of Starks from Jericho recently, he might have given away too much.

The public will probably give Jericho some support in the betting markets. Even casual fans that do not follow AEW know who Jericho is. That said, Starks is still a fairly big favorite to win at -300.

AEW Prediction

Jericho is a prominent figure in AEW. His responsibilities in AEW include more than only being a wrestler.

When Jericho signed a five-year deal this past October, it was mentioned that his roles in the organization would increase. He is regarded as a producer and creative advisor while continuing his responsibility as a mentor to younger talent11.

Why is this important? Jericho recently noted that Starks should be involved in long-term storytelling.

Jericho showered Starks with compliments, including building him into a big star in AEW12. With this in mind, it would make more sense for Starks to beat Jericho at the end of the feud.

Jericho’s creative input is valued at AEW. If he sees a potential star, upper management is going to listen. Maybe it doesn’t work out, but Starks should bag a win over Jericho at AEW Revolution.
