Baltimore Ravens (+135)

    • AFC North Position in 2023-24: 1st (13-4)
    • Key Players In: Derrick Henry (RB)
    • Key Players Out: Jadaveon Clowney (DE), Patrick Queen (LB), Geno Stone (S), Odell Beckham Jr. (WR)
    • Head Coach: John Harbaugh

After a disappointing end to their season in the AFC Championship, the Baltimore Ravens are back with high expectations. They were the No. 1 seed in the AFC but couldn’t survive the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense in a 17-10 loss.

The Ravens bring back a highly talented squad that will be amongst the best in the league. League MVP Lamar Jackson only gets more help offensively this season. Running back Derrick Henry signed a two-year deal worth up to $20 million.

Henry is coming off a solid campaign in which he ran for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. Armed with a dual-threat quarterback, the QB option will be a load to handle for opposing defenses. The receiving core remains together for the Ravens, while Zay Flowers should continue to grow in his second year.

The defense lost Jadaveon Clowney, Geno Stone, and Patrick Queen in the offseason, but re-signed key players on the defensive side. Defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, linebacker Malik Harrison, and slot corner Arthur Maulet are back after re-signing with the Ravens in 2024.

With a top 10 defense and offense last season, the Ravens should be every bit as good in 2024. Another 13-win campaign is within reach!

Cincinnati Bengals (+165)

    • AFC North Position in 2023-24: 4th (9-8)
    • Key Players In: Sheldon Rankins (DT), Geno Stone (S), Zack Moss (RB), Trent Brown (OT)
    • Key Players Out:J. Reader (DT), Tyler Boyd (WR)
    • Head Coach: Zac Taylor

The Cincinnati Bengals look to move on from a frustrated 2023-24 season with a healthy Joe Burrow at the controls. The 27-year-old played in only ten games before suffering a serious hand injury in a 34-20 loss to the Ravens.

The Bengals were 5-4 before Burrow exited against Baltimore on Thursday Night Football in November. After having surgery to repair ligament in his wrist, Burrow returns to the field healthy and ready to contribute.

The passing-game shouldn’t be a concern. Burrow will have Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, but Tyler Boyd has played his last down with the Bengals. Charlies Jones was drafted in mind to replace Boyd as the No. 3 option in the slot. Andrei Iosivas and Trenton Irvin will also factor into the offense.

More importantly, dynamic running back Joe Mixon is not back in Cincinnati. As well as being a solid runner, Mixon was helpful out of the backfield as a pass-catcher. Zack Moss is an adequate replacement, but Mixon will be missed.

D.J. Reader’s departure has to be filled in the middle. The veteran’s run stopping ability as a space eater will be felt on his new team in Detroit but hurts the Bengals’ defense. This is on a Cincinnati squad that already struggled against the run last year.

With the Bengals’ +165 odds to win the AFC North, they are expected to be competitive against the Ravens. It will be close, but the Ravens are still the team to beat!

Cleveland Browns (+500)

    • AFC North Position in 2023-24: 2nd (11-6)
    • Key Players In: Jameis Winston (QB), Jordan Hicks (LB), D’Onta Foreman (RB), Jerry Jeudy (WR)
    • Key Players Out: Joe Flacco (QB), Anthony Walker Jr. (LB), Sione Takitaki (LB)
    • Head Coach: Kevin Stefanski

The Cleveland Browns have spent a lot of money trying to turn this team into a title contender. Currently, though, the Browns’ 2024-25 AFC North champion odds suggest that they aren’t up to that standard.

Deshaun Watson, Myles Garrett, and Denzel Ward are all on huge contracts. The Browns know that now is the time to go all-in, so they worked out a deal to send a fifth-round and sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Watson is on a horrendous deal for the Browns. The guy’s barely provided value for the franchise after so many injuries. He has passed for 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in two years with the Browns.

Aside from Jeudy, the Browns didn’t do anything to improve from last season. Jameis Winston provides more stability behind Watson as a backup, but this team should be similar. In 2023-24, the Browns finished with the best defense in football, averaging 270.2 yards against per game.

They’ll be up there as one of the best defenses again this season led by Garrett, but an inconsistent offense will plague the Browns. Can Nick Chubb return to health after rehabbing a major knee injury? Will Watson hold up and be effective? There are too many questions in Cleveland.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+650)

    • AFC North Position in 2023-24: 3rd (10-7)
    • Key Players In: Russell Wilson (QB), Justin Fields (QB), Patrick Queen (LB), Donte Jackson (CB)
    • Key Players Out: Kenny Pickett (QB), Mason Rudolph (QB), Diontae Johnson (WR)
    • Head Coach: Mike Tomlin

The Steelers’ quarterback room will look much differently in 2024 than last year. Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph are both out, while Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are the new signal callers in Pittsburgh.

Wilson is currently listed atop the Steelers’ depth chart, but head coach Mike Tomlin could make a change. Whoever is under center will be disappointed to learn that receiver Diontae Johnson is in Carolina.

George Pickens has immense talent, but he has to mature and become more consistent. He disappears and mopes on the sideline too often. If he can turn into more of a team leader on the offense, the Steelers will benefit greatly.

The defense should be in dependable form behind T.J. Watt’s pass rush. New arrivals linebacker Patrick Queen and cornerback help bolster the defense. This unit will be fine, but the offense is too hard to gauge!

It all depends on whether Wilson or Fields can spark the offense. I am more convinced that Pickens will be on the sideline frustrated with their off-target throws than celebrating in the end zone.

AFC North 2025 Predictions and Best Bet

According to the latest odds to win the AFC North, it is expected to be a duel between the Ravens and Bengals! A healthy Burrow makes this an intriguing battle between these two divisional rivals.

However, I am more confident in backing the more well-rounded squad to win the AFC North. The Bengals were among the worst teams against the run last year.

The lack of defensive depth up front will contribute to the Bengals stumbling in the final month of the 2024-25 regular season.

For my NFL betting pick and predictions for AFC North, the Ravens are a sharp bet to win at plus odds!
