Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 Odds and Predictions – Who Wins This Massive Boxing Rematch?

The Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 odds for this gigantic boxing rematch suggest another close fight on Saturday, February 22 at “The Last Crescendo” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia! Artur Beterbiev edged out Dmitry Bivol in a controversial decision in October 2024. Can the challenger get his revenge in the rematch?

I’m going to dig into the Beterbiev vs. Bivol 2 odds for this undisputed light-heavyweight title fight, breaking down the tale of the tape and their recent form. At the end of this article, I’ll hand out my winner pick, as well as a prop pick for the length of the fight!

Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 Odds

FIGHTERODDS TO WINTOTAL #OF ROUNDS
ARTUR BETERBIEV-125OVER 10.5 (-275)
DMITRY BIVOL-105UNDER 10.5 (+220)

Artur Beterbiev enters this rematch as the favorite at -125 at boxing betting sites, giving him a 55.6% implied win chance for victory. But Dmitry Bivol isn’t far behind at -105, giving him an implied probability of 51.2% to win this rematch!

The bookies believe this one will be competitive, unlike the odds for Dubois vs. Parker, which suggest the heavyweight title will stay with the Brit.

The first fight between Beterbiev and Bivol in October was a terrific show of skill and heart from both men, and Beterbiev won a narrow majority decision to unify the light-heavyweight (178 pounds) belts.

If Bivol wins, Turki Alalshikh, who puts on the Riyadh Season fights in Saudi Arabia, has already said there will be a trilogy fight, so there is a lot at stake for both!

Tape of the Tape and Boxing Styles

First, I’ll look at the tale of the tape for these light heavyweights before getting into my Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 predictions and analysis.

Between the two fighters, there is just one loss in 45 combined professional fights, and that came the first time they fought in October 2024! As the previous fight showed, these are two very close fighters. Beterbiev has the edge in punching power, shown by his 20 knockouts, but Bivol neutralized that in the first fight with his movement.

Both are around the same height, and they’ll weigh in a maximum of 178 pounds for this light-heavyweight title clash. For the first fight, Beterbiev weighed in at 174.9 pounds, while Bivol came in at 174.1 pounds. Beterbiev also has a one-inch reach advantage over his rival.

The most significant difference between the two is age, as Beterbiev just turned 40 in January, while Bivol turned 34 in December. Despite that, Bivol has had 24 fights to 21 for Beterbiev. There is a reason these two are so close in the odds at online sportsbooks: they’re both excellent fighters.

Fighter Form

Next, I’ll take a look at the recent form of both fighters, who have both fought at least once a year since 2021.

Apr. 1, 2023vs. Joe Smith Jr.W (TKO)
Aug 20, 2022vs. Marcus BrowneW (KO)

The Russian-Canadian had been quite dominant until he ran into Bivol, as Beterbiev had won every professional fight he had by TKO or KO.

He retained the WBC and IBF light-heavyweight titles against Marcus Browne, and then picked up the WBO belt against Joe Smith Jr. Beterbiev held on to all three belts against Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith. He then took the WBA (Super), IBO, and the vacant The Ring titles in his fight with Bivol.

Beterbiev is now the undisputed champion of the world at 178 pounds, but he’ll want to finish Bivol after many, including ESPN, thought that Bivol won the fight. A decisive win for Beterbiev would do wonders for his legacy.

June 1, 2024vs. Malik ZinadW (TKO)
December 23, 2023vs. Lyndon ArthurW (Unanimous Decision)
November 5, 2022vs. Gilberto RamirezW (Unanimous Decision)
May 7, 2022vs. Canelo AlvarezW (Unanimous Decision)

Bivol stepped into the spotlight in May 2022, when he was a massive underdog at offshore sportsbooks against Canelo Álvarez, who was going for a title in his fifth weight class. But Bivol was the better man that night, throwing and landing more punches than the Mexican star en route to a unanimous decision.

The Russian retained his WBA light-heavyweight belt against Alvarez, and did the same against Gilberto Ramirez in December 2022.

Instead of rematching Canelo or fighting Beterbiev, Bivol then defeated Lyndon Arthur and took the IBO title from him December 2023.

He and Beterbiev were finally set to square off in June 2024, but Beterbiev needed surgery for a ruptured meniscus. To stay busy, Bivol knocked out Malik Zinad in October 2024. It was his first finish since March 2018.

Fighter Strengths/Weaknesses

Finally, I’ll analyze the strengths and weaknesses both fighters, although there isn’t much between the two.

Beterbiev Strengths:

  • Punching power
  • Experience

Beterbiev Weaknesses:

  • Defense
  • Starting to age

Bivol Strengths:

  • Technical ability
  • Great movement

Bivol Weaknesses:

  • Can be a little too conservative
  • Doesn’t have Beterbiev’s knockout power

Bivol used his jab and technique to win the first few rounds of the first fight, while Beterbiev came back with his aggressive style. It was when Bivol tried to fight fire with fire against Beterbiev that the latter got a foothold. Bivol was obviously wary of Beterbiev’s knockout power, while Beterbiev has proven in the past that he’ll take a punch to land one.

While Beterbiev is starting to age, he still showed that he had something left in the tank to come back and make the fight a true battle. I don’t think it will be different in the second fight.

Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 Prediction and Betting Pick

Between Bivol vs. Beterbiev 2 odds, and the Daniel Dubois-Joseph Parker odds for the co-main event, boxing bettors and fans alike are in for a fun time on Saturday! I’m banking on the second fight to be as good as the first, if not better. Both men made adjustments on the fly in the first fight, and they’ve had months to prepare for the rematch.

Beterbiev needs to get off to a better start, while Bivol has to avoid getting suckered into a punching battle with Beterbiev. In the end, I’m going with Bivol to pull out the victory this time in another close match, using his lateral movement and jab to stay out of Beterbiev’s reach.

While Bivol is priced at -105 to win, you can also bet on him to win by Decision at +150, and that’s what I’m recommending to get as much betting value as you can. I believe this fight will go the full 12 rounds again.

The Bet
BIVOL BY DECISION

Length of the Fight

As for the length of the fight, you can bet either over 10.5 rounds at -275, or you can bet on it to go the distance at -200. I’ll take that “go the distance” bet.

The Bet
YES TO GO THE DISTANCE
