Can The Philadelphia Eagles Go Undefeated in 2022-23 Regular Season?

Philadelphia Eagles Undefeated NFL

As we head into Week 7 of the 2022 NFL Regular Season, there’s only one unbeaten team left, the Eagles with a perfect 6-0 record. NFL sportsbook, BetUS, has a Philadelphia Eagles Prop bet asking whether or not the Eagles will finish the NFL Regular Season off at 17-0-0.

There have been 8 teams who have gone undefeated in NFL history, with five of those going on to win the NFL Championship and finish perfect. Only two of those teams have done it in the Super Bowl era, the famous Dolphins in 1972 and the Patriots in 2011. And just one went 17-0-0.

Undefeated Teams in NFL Regular Season History

  • 1920—Akron Pros 8-0-3 (Champion)
  • 1922—Canton Bulldogs 10-0-2 (Champion)
  • 1923—Canton Bulldogs 11-0-1 (Champion)
  • 1929—Green Bay Packers 12-0-1 (Champion)
  • 1934—Chicago Bears 13-0-0 (Lost Championship)
  • 1942—Chicago Bears 11-0-0 (Lost Championship)
  • 1972— Miami Dolphins 14-0-0 (Champion)
  • 2011—New England Patriots 16-0-0 (Lost Championship)

Miami Head Coach Don Shula led Miami to a perfect 14-0-0 mark in the 1972 NFL Regular Season. He then led the Dolphins to a memorable victory in Super Bowl VII, beating the NFC champion Washington (14-7).

Online sportsbooks posted a Special Props bet, Will Any NFL Team Go Undefeated? (17-0-0) before the season began and the “Yes” was priced +1400 with the “No” opening -3500. Also available was a Prop Will Any NFL Team Go 20-0-0 in the 2022-23 Season? (Yes 40/1). And we had another prop bet Which NFL Team Will Be the Last To Lose A Game in 2022-23?

At the time, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles odds were a robust 16/1. Anyone backing that Philadelphia Eagles Prop bet was already able to cash after the Dolphins lost to the Bengals in Week 4. Let’s take a closer look at Philly’s chances to go undefeated in the 2022-23 regular season.

Will the Eagles Finish the 2022-23 Regular Season Undefeated?

Yes:
+1100
No:
-3300

Betting action on this Philadelphia Eagles undefeated Prop for the Regular Season will be heavier on the “Yes” (11/1) than the “No” (-3300) for a couple of reasons.

Sentimentality (Eagles) and price fear for No backers ($330 would only win $10) and time (Regular Season ends January). The Philadelphia Eagles undefeated run will likely come to an end, especially with their NFC East counterparts, the Giants (5-1) and Cowboys (2-2) also playing well. But the Eagles already beat the Cowboys, holding Dallas off last Sunday in Philadelphia in Week 6 to stay unbeaten.

Let’s take a look at the Eagles Regular Season schedule and then analyze the remaining 11 games to try to determine which will be toughest spots for this team.

2022 Philadelphia Eagles Regular Season Schedule

  • Week 1—Eagles 38 Lions 35
  • Week 2—Eagles 24 Vikings 7
  • Week 3—Eagles 28 Commanders 7
  • Week 4—Eagles 29 Jaguars 21
  • Week 5—Eagles 20 Cardinals 17
  • Week 6—Eagles 26 Cowboys 17
  • Week 7—Bye Week
  • Week 8—Eagles vs. Steelers
  • Week 9—Eagles at Texans
  • Week 10—Eagles vs Commanders
  • Week 11—Eagles at Colts
  • Week 12—Eagles vs. Packers
  • Week 13—Eagles vs. Titans
  • Week 14—Eagles at Giants
  • Week 15—Eagles at Bears
  • Week 16—Eagles at Cowboys (Christmas Eve)
  • Week 17—Eagles vs. Saints
  • Week 18—Eagles vs. Giants

The next 11 games for the Eagles see the first four games looking like a chance for Philadelphia to have a 10-0 start after this Bye Week. They will face the Steelers, Texans, Commanders, and Colts. All these games will see the Eagles as the betting favorites. But Pittsburgh won’t be scared as they just beat the Buccaneers.

The schedule gets nasty though for Philadelphia in Weeks 12-18 with Aaron Rodgers at the Packers coming to Lincoln Financial Field in Week 12. This is followed by the Titans. Week 15 seems like a sure win against the Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, but the final three will really be a test.

If Hurts and the Eagles are 14-0 heading into Week 16 and Christmas Eve (December 24) at Jerryworld and Dallas, this will be one of the biggest games of the year.  If the Cowboys can hold serve and be 12-2 that meeting may have potential NFC East title implications.

In Week 17, Philadelphia faces the Saints at Home in the City of Brotherly Love, and this could be a tough game if the Saints are fighting for their NFL Playoffs lives. Should the Eagles be 16-0 heading into Week 18 with the Saquon Barkley and Giants coming to town,

Logic dictates Philadelphia will lose a game and we’ve shown how few teams have had an unbeaten Regular Seasons in the Super Bowl Era. Just two. And one of them went on to make history (Dolphins) while the other (Patriots) had Tom Brady at QB.

The Eagles have had two 3-point wins and were actually down to Detroit in Week 1 after the 1st Quarter (7-0). But Philadelphia rushed for 4 TDs and held off the Lions, 38-35 at Ford Field in Detroit. This Philadelphia Eagles Prop bet is entertaining and looking at the schedule, a 17-0-0 Regular Season is not out of the question. But is it realistic?

Can the Philadelphia Eagles Go Undefeated in 2022-23 Pick:
