Cooper Flagg odds are favoring that the freshman phenom will return to Duke for a sophomore season. The Blue Devils are favored to win the NCAA Tournament this season, but if they don’t, will Flagg head back to Durham, North Carolina? Or will the lure of NBA millions be too much to ignore?
I’ll sort through two Cooper Flagg props and give you my predictions for each on the Duke star’s future. I’ll summarize those betting picks at the end of this article!

But would Flagg actually stay at Duke? Some say he would miss out on $50 million in the NBA by staying in school. That’s why Charlotte (+550), Washington (+550), and Utah (+550) are next in the Cooper Flagg odds with a 15.4% implied win chance.
These three teams are the worst in the NBA, and could take the top three spots in the NBA Draft lottery. The worst three teams have a 14% chance of winning the #1 pick, while Team 4 has a 12.5% chance, and Team 5 has a 10.5% chance. However, Flagg is not falling to #2 or lower, so you’re about to see some supreme tanking done by the bottom teams.

New Orleans (+650) will be hoping for the same luck Atlanta had last year, when they got the #1 pick despite having just a 3% chance. Before that, teams with a 14% chance had won the last four lotteries. However, the absolute worst team in the league hasn’t won the lottery since Phoenix in 2018. So, there is a chance that the Pelicans, Brooklyn (+800), Philadelphia (+1000), Toronto (+1100), and Chicago (+1400) could overcome the NBA Draft odds!
Cooper Flagg Prediction and Betting Pick
However, I have a feeling that we’ll get back to the worst team winning the lottery. I don’t think Flagg will return to Duke, even if they don’t win the NCAA Tournament. Even with NIL money in college sports now, Flagg would be turning down millions of dollars, and also pushing back his NBA free agency.
If he enters the league next season, Flagg turns 19 in December. Assuming he does well, Flagg would be able to get a contract extension in his third season. That means he would be eligible for an even bigger extension when he’s in his prime, around 25 years old!
That’s why I think he’ll leave school for the NBA, and I believe he’ll end up in Utah!

But you just need to get into the top three to have a chance, and the Jazz and Wizards should be fine to get a 14% possibility to win the #1 pick. Charlotte (+500) is right there at 16-48, but New Orleans (+600) is 18-48 and are trying to get into the bottom four. Chicago (+600) is being overvalued here. The Bulls are 27-38 and in the 10th spot, which means a play-in game. They would have to be the 73-9 Golden State Warriors of tanking to even have a chance at the #1 spot!

But I’m going to put Utah again in my Cooper Flagg predictions! The Jazz have never had a #1 pick, not as the New Orleans Jazz from 1974-1979, or as the Utah Jazz from 1979 to the present. I don’t think there are any shenanigans going on behind the scenes, which some believe has happened before. I simply think they’re due. Furthermore, I’m taking the Utah Jazz to draft the Duke star at +400 in my Cooper Flagg predictions!
