Several heavy favorites are projected to win at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards. Most of the major awards appear to be wrapped up already, according to odds at the top online betting sites. Will things play out accordingly at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel?

John McCook (-500) is a heavy favorite to win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The Bold and the Beautiful star has a highly likely probability of 83.3% to win the award.
Co-star and defending winner Thorsten Kaye is the closest rival in the odds, but Eric Forrester, portrayed by McCook, has the inside edge to Best Actor honors. The 79-year-old soap opera legend has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance on The Bold and the Beautiful five times since 2001!
McCook broke through to win in 2022 and is expected to do the same this year. After taking the role for the inaugural season in 1987, the actor continues to perform at a high level and hasn’t indicated that he wants to retire anytime soon.
I don’t see much competition for McCook in this category. Kaye is unlikely to win back-to-back awards since this is very uncommon from the Daytime Emmys. Aside from McCook and Kaye, there isn’t another worthy winner, so by default, the family patriarch is the likely winner for Best Actor.

The current 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards betting odds indicate a close race for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. All five nominees have a solid chance of picking up the win.
Finola Hughes, the current favorite on most betting apps and sites, has an implied chance to win 33.3% at +200. Katherine Kelly Lang and Tamara Braun are the unlikeliest to win, but at +300, they are still in contention.
Per my Daytime Emmy 2024 predictions, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Annika Noelle should be the favorite to win.
This year, the 37-year-old Noelle received her first Best Actress nod. In 2020, Noelle was nominated for Best Supporting Actress but came up short.
In comparison, Hughes was first nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress way back in 1990! She has been nominated nine times, with one win in 1991.
If we’re basing the award on acting chops this year, and not longevity, Noelle has to be at the top. Backing her is the value bet for Best Actress, so consider picking The Bold and the Beautiful star.

The Young and the Restless appears to be in its own class for afternoon soap operas. Per the latest 2024 Daytime Emmys Awards odds, the show’s doing laps around the competition.
The ratings speak for themselves, as well. Since its debut in 1973, The Young and the Restless has been a fan favorite for soap opera fans. In 2023-24, the show throttled the competition in viewership.
With 3.2 million average viewers for the week, The Young and the Restless outperformed the second-most-watched soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, which netted an average of 2.737 million.
For the key 18-49 women demographic, The Young and the Restless scored a 0.32 as opposed to 0.28 for The Bold and the Beautiful. General Hospital, which has the second-shortest odds for this category, was third in viewership.
Regardless of ratings, General Hospital has fallen off over the last few years. It isn’t interesting or compelling any longer, so I don’t view it as a threat to win.
The Young and the Restless is still able to attract the attention of fans, so it should be the top pick for Best Daytime Drama.

Although -300 isn’t an ideal price, The Kelly Clarkson Show should probably be -500 like some of the other favorites. Nevertheless, the show has a healthy chance to win the Best Talk Series of 75%.
Clarkson and her team should have a healthy lead over the competition in this category for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series. The talk show took over The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s coveted spot in the afternoon and is drawing big ratings.
For the fifth season, The Kelly Clarkson Show recorded a new high with an average of 1.439 million daily viewers in the first week of December. The View is also a monster ratings juggernaut, but the show has fallen out of favor with The Kelly Clarkson Show at awards shows.
Since debuting in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has been nominated a staggering 40 times in multiple categories at the Daytime Emmy Awards. This year, The Kelly Clarkson Show has eight nominations!
