Marvel is banking on Deadpool and Wolverine to climb the charts quickly, and potentially post the largest first-weekend numbers of 2024. The current holder is Inside Out 2, Pixar’s animated film starring Amy Poehler. The production grossed just over $154 million from June 14-16, so the lines for Deadpool and Wolverine are relatively low.

The Deadpool and Wolverine betting odds suggest that the film will bring in over $139.5 million in its opening weekend.
In comparison, Deadpool 1 opened on Presidents’ Day weekend in the United States in 2016, and it grossed $132.4 million, up to $152.2 million if you add the extra day. The second film grossed $125.5 million in its first weekend in May 2018.
I’m betting on Deadpool 3 going over the $139.5 million mark, since inflation and Wolverine’s arrival should be enough to beat that line.
Reynolds and Jackman have been marketing this movie like mad, showing up everywhere from soccer games in Wrexham (the club Reynolds co-owns), to showing up in a spot for The Bachelorette. The two also have fantastic chemistry between them, as shown in various clips and trailers for the movie.
I’m going over $139.5 million, and not only that, I think Deadpool and Wolverine will take the crown for the biggest first-weekend numbers of 2024. That should be your first Deadpool 3 box office prediction on your bet slip.

Deadpool is known for “breaking the fourth wall” in the films. This means that the character refers directly to the audience by speaking to the camera. It’s usually sarcastic quips from Deadpool, or he’ll relay information that the audience might not know.
This video clip shows Deadpool breaking the fourth wall a staggering 31 times, and that’s just in the first movie! In fact, at #9 of this clip, you see Deadpool with a picture of Jackman pasted on his deformed face, alluding to a possible inclusion of Wolverine in the future.
In clip #7, Deadpool the character makes fun of Reynolds the actor, stating, “You think Ryan Reynolds got this far on his superior acting method?” when discussing looks. He’s not above making fun of himself, or his terrible film, Green Lantern, as you can see in the #3 clip.
6.5 is actually very low for this movie. Deadpool might get through 6.5 fourth-wall breaks by the time we get to the opening credits! Take the over all the way to the bank.

These might be the toughest Deadpool 3 odds to parse through. Wolverine has killed his share of bad guys over the course of his movies, as well as the X-Men films. He definitely knows how to handle himself in a fight.
However, it’s still a Deadpool movie and the titular character will likely have the most kills. This also might be a bet that is tough to grade. What happens if the two combine to kill a character, does each get one, a half-kill, or none? That is something to consider as you’re going through these Deadpool 3 odds.
Still, no matter how it is graded, I’m taking Deadpool to eke out Wolverine for the most kills. I think it’ll be a close race, but it would be a shock if the title character ended up with fewer kills.
