Will the word Batman be spoken in Joker: Folie à Deux? Or, perhaps a special cameo made by the Dark Night? There’s a chance, but it would have to be a strong premonition or dream from Arthur.
Keep in mind that Bruce Wayne is just a young boy — roughly 10 to 12 years old in the first film. On this timeline, he’s over a decade off from transforming into Batman. If it happens, I imagine it will be at the end of the film and some look into the future.
Joker: Folie à Deux is based on Arthur’s court case and his relationship with Harley Quinn. I don’t see any room for the word Batman being mentioned. At +250, there is only a 28.6% chance of this happening, per BetOnline.
Thomas was a central figure in Joker, but he was murdered by a rioter after Gotham fell into chaos. He can’t be in the new film. However, there could be a reference to him somewhere in Joker: Folie à Deux.
Bruce Wayne has the highest likelihood of being mentioned with -300 odds and a 75% implied probability. His name will be brought up, but a trip for Arthur to Wayne Manor with Thomas deceased is highly unlikely this time.
Additionally, there isn’t any betting value on backing Bruce at -300. I am wagering on a flashback, news report, or some reference to Thomas’ death in the riots, though. At plus money, Thomas is worth considering for this fun futures bet at BetOnline!

Joker earned $96 million on its opening weekend in 2019 in the United States. It was a smashing success that ultimately tipped over $1 billion at the box office. As the first R-rated Batman-themed film, Joker was deemed a major success for Warner Brothers.
However, can the movie franchise follow that up with even more success? It’s probably going to be difficult. I expect it to do extremely well, but $5 million more than the original film in the opening weekend is questionable!
If the reviews from critics are great, then it will come close to the $100 million mark. That said, expecting a musical to cash in over $100 million is a tough ask. Also, interest from casual fans from the Batman franchise will likely be lower this time around.
There was plenty of intrigue around Joker that captured a casual crowd to the movies. I’m not confident that a musical will attract that much fanfare, or at least $100 million worth of it on opening weekend. Lady Gaga, who is paying Harley Quinn, is a big name, but it takes more than well-known stars to attract an audience.
Joker: Folie à Deux has generated some Oscars buzz. Gaga has +650 odds to win for Best Actress, while the film has a +1200 price for Best Picture. These are long Academy Awards odds, but still worth mentioning as a potential nominee.
Nevertheless, this won’t translate to the public buying tickets in early October.
For these Joker: Folie à Deux betting odds, I much prefer the Under $100 million than risking my money on the over/under eclipsing $100 million!
