LoL MSI 2024 Betting Odds and Predictions

The Sports Geek brings you all the latest odds and 2024 LoL MSI predictions for the first League of Legends cross-regional event of the calendar year!

Last time, JD Gaming pulled away from Bilibili Gaming to capture the Mid-Season Invitational title as the +200 pre-tournament favorite. However, with JD Gaming failing to qualify in 2024, a new champion will be crowned in Chengdu, China.

With the LoL MSI 2024 coming in May, it’s a good time to prepare by checking out how the tournament works, the format, and the LoL MSI betting odds at the top eSports betting sites.

You will find all that below, as well as my predictions and best bets for the tournament, so keep reading!

2024 LoL MSI Betting Odds

The following LoL Mid-Season Invitational 2024 odds to win are courtesy of BetOnline:

TEAMODDS
Bilibili Gaming+200
Gen.G+250
T1+300
Top Esports+400
G2 ESports+1300
Team Liquid+2700
Fnatic+3000
FlyQuest+4000

Bilibili Gaming (+200) has the shortest 2024 LoL MSI odds to win! At +200, the talented Chinese team has an implied probability of 33.3% to go all the way in the marquee competition.

According to BetOnline, Korea’s Gen.G (+250) is not far behind Bilibili Gaming’s price. The team has an implied chance of 28.6% to notch the win for the LoL MSI title.

T1 (+300) and Top Esports (+400) round out the top four teams in Chengdu. If you don’t like the prices, we have a few other markets available at BetOnline, so let’s check them out.

LoL MSI Odds To Reach The Final

TEAMODDS
Bilibili Gaming-111
Gen.G+100
T1+110
Top Esports+200
G2 Esports+600

As expected, Bilibili Gaming has the best odds to reach the final of the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. BetOnline’s prices suggest an implied probability higher than 50% chance of reaching the championship match!

Meanwhile, Gen.G has a coin flip chance at 50% to reach the final match. T1 fans will be disappointed to learn that they have a 47.6% chance. This implies that T1 will just miss out on a finals appearance if the bookies got this one right!

LoL MSI Region Winner Odds

TEAMODDS
LPL-125
LCK-111
LEC+1100
LCS+2000
Any Other Region+5000

The League of Legends Pro League features top Lol MSI favorites such as Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports.

Understandably so, at -125, a team from LPL is, therefore, the betting favorite to win MSI. JD Gaming won for LPL last year, so we’ll see if it’s a repeat for the Chinese league in 2024.

Gen.G and T1 are representing League of Legends Champions Korea at LoL MSI 2024. LCK’s odds to win at -111 indicate that the tournament is a clear showdown between the two top Asian leagues.

LoL Mid-Season Invitational 2024 Format

LoL MSI 2024 is scheduled from May 1 to May 19, 2024, at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center.

Winners of each competitive region and runners-up from the major regions receive an invitation to play for the LoL MSI crown. The champion will receive an automatic berth into the 2024 Season World Championship later this year in Germany1, so there’s an extra incentive to win this one.

Stage 1:

  • Eight teams will be drawn into two double-elimination brackets.
  • The top two teams from each group will advance to the next stage.
  • Four teams earned automatic pre-qualification invitations to Stage 2.
  • All matches are best-of-five games.

Stage 2:

  • Four qualifiers from Stage 1 and the four pre-qualified teams will compete.
  • The match format for Stage 2 is a double-elimination bracket.
  • Stage 2 will consist of four rounds and the finals.
  • All matches are best-of-five games.

LoL MSI 2024 Top Favorites

Four teams have separated themselves from the rest of the field as the 2024 LoL Mid-Season Invitational betting favorites. I expect one of the winners to be one of them, with one specific squad proving the best betting value (but more on that later).

Let’s explore the top contenders one by one.

Bilibili Gaming (+200)

  • Region: League of Legends Pro League (China)
  • Global Ranking: 2nd (1,442 ELO Rating)
  • Key Player: Xun
  • 2024 Record: 18-1

Bilibili Gaming is looking to stay hot this year with a victory in the LoL MSI on home soil in China. As of April 22, this ultra-talented team has won 13 consecutive matches after they defeated Top Esports 3-1 on Saturday, April 20.

The win for Bilibili Gaming was their third in a row over Top Esports in 2024! They also scored a big victory over the 2023 LoL MSI winner JD Gaming on February 24. Bilibili Gaming did not finish 2023 in great form, however.

They lost two of their last five matches last year before catching fire in 2024. In addition to winning, they have dominated the LPL this season. Bilibili Gaming has won 10 of their previous 12 matches by two games.

Knight and LvMao joined Bilibili Gaming in December 2023, and they’ve made themselves feel right at home. The signings paid off immediately, bringing this team to another level and winning a spring title.

As the hottest team in the League of Legends Pro League, I agree with the bookies on Bilibili Gaming’s favorite status in LoL MSI 2024.

Gen.G (+250)

  • Region: League of Legends Korea
  • Global Ranking: 1st (1,551 ELO Rating)
  • Key Player: Canyon
  • 2024 Record: 20-1

Certain LoL pundits thought that this team could fail horrifically before the season. However, the flip side was a really high ceiling that would give T1 tough competition in Korea this year.

So far, in 2024, Gen.G is proving the doubters wrong after showing incredible chemistry together. The squad is on a 14-game winning stream, and most impressively, they’ve toyed with T1, their biggest competition in Korea this year.

Gen.G has won all three matches versus the No. 3 team globally. Most recently, they edged out T1 on April 14. In international competitions against Chinese opponents, we will discover what Gen.G is really about.

Have they reached their ceiling or is the best yet to come? Bilibili Gaming and Gen.G could be a collision course for a monster showdown and a repetition for the Worlds!

According to Gosu Gamers, Gen.G is the top-ranked LoL team in the world2. Currently, I would put Bilibili Gaming slightly ahead, but I definitely see where this ranking is coming from.

T1 (+300)

  • Region: League of Legends Korea
  • Global Ranking: 3rd (1,425 ELO Rating)
  • Key Player: Oner
  • 2024 Record: 17-5

Aside from tough losses to Gen.G, T1 has been in strong form this season. However, they might have to overcome the team that has swept them in Korea in 2024 at some point of the MSI.

T1 has had three chances to take Gen.G down and came up short in every opportunity. Two of the losses were competitive, so it isn’t as if Oner and company were way off the mark.

In addition to having issues with Gen.G, Hanwha Life has handed T1 two losses this year. In their latest attempt against the team, they were shut out in a 3-0 final score on April 4!

Despite the poor results against Gen.G, they should have a good feel for their rivals by now. In a potential rematch in the LoL Mid-Season Invitational, it would be a good time for T1 to snap the losing skid.

Top Esports (+400)

  • Region: League of Legends Pro League (China)
  • Global Ranking: 6th (1,252 ELO Rating)
  • Key Player: 369
  • 2024 Record: 15-5

After helping JD Gaming win the 2023 LoL MSI, 369 signed with Top Esports in December. He spent 2021 to 2023 with JD Gaming, but opted to change colors for the 2024 campaign.

In his first year with his new squad, 369 led Top Esports to an upset over JD Gaming to qualify for the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. That is one way to show your former employer how much you are worth!

However, Top Esports hasn’t been blemish-free this season. They’ve encountered issues against Bilibili Gaming, with two losses in two matches.

In January, Bilibili Gaming recorded a 2-1 win, and then a 3-1 victory in the Spring Finals over Top Esports this past weekend.

As impressive as 369 can be for Top Esports, he needs another teammate or two to have the tournament of their lives to upset Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming. Nevertheless, at +400, oddsmakers believe that Top Esports has a decent chance of raising the trophy.

2024 LoL MSI Predictions and Betting Pick

For my LoL Mid-Season Invitational predictions, I am leaning towards the hottest teams from China and Korea clashing for the titles. Ultimately, the home team should prevail over a competitive field in Chengdu.

The pressure will undoubtedly be on Bilibili Gaming to emerge victorious in China. However, they remained unfazed during the 2024 LPL Spring Playoffs and should manage to ride that momentum behind a raucous crowd.

Knight and LvMao have provided a boost to a team that needed an extra piece or two to reach their full potential. On a 13-match winning streak, which includes victories over the top teams in China, Bilibili Gaming is a step ahead of their rivals at LoL MSI.

Bilibili Gaming should carry their unwavering confidence into this tournament, so I recommend a play on the surging Chinese gamers hailing from LPL.
