There are some key betting trends to keep in mind before placing your best Monday Night Football bets! I’ve dug through several trends for this matchup and have isolated the best to consider for the Falcons vs. Eagles:

• The Atlanta Falcons are 2-13 outright in their previous 15 games on the road.
• The Atlanta Falcons are 1-6 against the spread (ATS) in their previous seven games versus opponents from the NFC.
• The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their previous five games versus the Atlanta Falcons.
• The Philadelphia Eagles are 9-1 outright in their previous ten games versus the Atlanta Falcons at home.
• The Philadelphia Eagles are 7-0 outright in their previous seven games in September.

MNF Football Prediction and Betting Pick: Falcons vs. Eagles

The Eagles edged away from the Packers to win and cover the point spread by a score of 34-29 in Week 1. Saquon Barkley’s debut with the Eagles was the talk of the game, as the former Giant was a versatile weapon.

Barkley ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 4.5 yards per carry. He also played a huge role in the passing game with a receiving score. With Jalen Hurts’ running ability, defenses have to gamble and take some chances.

If Falcons’ defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake puts extra emphasis on Barkley, Hurts will pull the ball in the read option. Needless to say, I am feeling good about Barkley’s leading rushing odds! Of course, the Eagles can tag the Falcons’ secondary, too. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith started fast with 119 and 84 receiving yards!

The Eagles had some defensive woes in Brazil, but I like them to show up with a stronger performance at home. Atlanta needs time to establish a rapport and chemistry with Kirk Cousins and his weapons. They were all out of sync, with Bijan Robinson the only threat in the running and passing game.

Drake London stretching the field didn’t happen while targeting Robinson out of the backfield was the Eagles’ most dangerous option. Cousins finished with an anemic 155 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions on 16/26 passing. I see the offense playing better, but not enough to keep up with Hurts and company.

The Eagles have dominated the Falcons in recent meetings, including a 9-1 record at home over their last ten games! They’ve gone 4-1 against the spread (ATS) through the previous five contests versus the Falcons. Look for the Falcons to be competitive early, before the Eagles power ahead for a comfortable win in the second half.

For my final Monday Night Football predictions against the spread, I am locking in the Eagles to cover -5.5 points!

Team to Score Longest Field Goal: Philadelphia Eagles (-130)

The longest MNF field goal prop bet is a wager worth considering in Week 2! The battle of the kickers appears lopsided in favor of the Eagles. Give me Jake Elliott over Younghoe Koo any day of the week.

In 2023-24, Koo went just 3/6 from 50+ yards. His season-long was 54 yards, which was also his longest field goal in the previous three years. Overall, Koo is 23/31 in his career from 50 yards or more.

Also, it’s worth noting that many of these field goals came in a dome in Atlanta. He won’t have the luxury of the indoors in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field. Elliott has the stronger leg, so I trust him much more from long-range.

Last season, Elliott had a booming leg with seven of eight conversions from 50+ yards! While the Falcons have concerns about Koo after 50 yards, head coach Nick Sirianni has no qualms about sending Elliott on the field.

Elliott’s longest field goal from 2023-24 was kicked from 61 yards at home! I have all the confidence in the kicker, so consider backing him for your best MNF prop bets.

Margin of Victory: Philadelphia Eagles by 7-12 Points

For this matchup, include the margin of victory prop for your NFL betting card. The Eagles are 6.5-point favorites to cover. According to The Sports Geek’s NFL AI picks and by my estimation, the Eagles will win and cover the spread.

However, how much will the Eagles win by in this Week 2 showdown on Monday Night Football? I don’t see the Eagles dismantling the Falcons right from the start. Look for the Falcons to be competitive. The offense should be in better shape in Cousins’ second performance with the team.

That said, there is still an adjustment period that will prevent the Falcons with Cousins. The Eagles will figure it out and keep their foot on the pedal in the 4th quarter. After establishing a lead, Barkley’s legs should carry the game and bleed the clock.

I anticipate a 10-point victory in favor of the Eagles, so winning by 7 to 12 points is a fantastic option at +350!

Rushing Yards Prop Bet: Jalen Hurts Over 33.5 Yards

Barkley was the focal point of the Eagles’ offense in Week 1. They worked around him to set up Brown and Smith downfield. He will play a vital role against the Falcons again, but I expect Hurts to get more involved as a runner.

After Barkley’s damage against the Packers, the read option should work even better in this matchup. It should free up more room for Hurts to keep the ball and find running lanes. Last year, Hurts finished with 605 yards rushing on 3.9 per carry.

The dual-threat QB should pick up the majority of this Monday Night Football player prop bet with one long run. Atlanta will look lost at times trying to stop Barkley and Hurts on the ground.

Receiving Yards Prop Bet: Bijan Robinson Over 27.5 Yards

Only in his second season, Robinson has established himself as one of the most well-rounded running backs in the NFL. He can run effectively, block, and is an excellent pass catcher out of the backfield.

The Falcons will use Robinson in multiple sets and formations to get the most out of the 22-year-old running back. The former Texas star hauled in 58 receptions for 487 yards and four touchdowns. Robinson’s role will only be elevated in his second year.

And, right away in Week 1, Cousins looked in Robinson’s direction. He was targeted five times with five receptions and 43 yards receiving. Robinson led the Falcons in receptions and second in yards.
