The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards betting odds are forecasting a successful night for Taylor Swift, arguably the biggest star in music right now. Can anyone stop the army of Swifties that will surely back her before the ceremony on September 11?
If you’re going to bet on the MTV VMAS odds, you should know the winners are voted by the fans. It largely comes down to a popularity contest in each category, making Swift a huge favorite for multiple awards.
I share my analysis for the MTV Video Music Awards in this article. Follow along as I predict who will take home one of the famous “moon man” statues that have been a part of the show as long as it has been around!

You can make cases for all of these artists. Sabrina Carpenter had a massive year with “Espresso”, which won for Favorite Viral Song at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards last month. Ariana Grande is a nine-time MTV Music Award winner, and “We Can’t Be Friends” was a hit. Eminem, SZA, and Bad Bunny are all wildly popular, and you could make an argument for all of them.
However, it’s still Taylor Swift’s world in 2024. Only Beyoncé (27) has more wins than Swift (23), and with 10 nominations on the night, Swift could have the overall lead by September 12. The MTV Video Music Awards betting odds would make it look like a runaway video for Benson Boone, whose “Beautiful Things” was a gigantic hit. He also got a bump from Swift, who had Boone open for her Eras Tour in London in June.
He’s going to be my pick for this award, although I think “Too Sweet” by Hozier is a better song. If we’re talking just in terms of videos, Hozier’s video is just recording and concert footage, which isn’t all that exciting.
Boone’s video for “Beautiful Things” is set in Utah on a mountaintop while he croons, which isn’t that much more exciting, but it gets the edge here at entertainment betting sites.

The Latin category is very intriguing, as Bad Bunny is a global superstar, along with Shakira and Cardi B. However, Brazilian singer Anitta has won this award the last two years running, beating out Bad Bunny twice (three times as he was nominated twice last year), and Shakira once. Anitta also has two entrants in this year’s category, and is incredibly popular in her own right.
Still, it’s time for a new winner. I’m going to split the difference and bet on Shakira and Cardi B to win for “Punteria”, which is from the former’s album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. This will be Shakira’s fifth nomination in this award, and I’m backing her to get her first win.

Here is where we should look for an upset. Everyone is chasing Swift’s collaboration with Post Malone, “Fortnight”, which will be tough to beat. Jack Harlow’s “Lovin’ on Me” was everywhere this year, as has Carpenter’s “Espresso” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control”. Beyoncé is always a threat, and her country-inspired “Texas Hold ‘Em” took the first quarter of this year by storm.
However, I’m taking Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” to be victorious, because it offers tremendous betting value. “Not Like Us” is the crown jewel in Lamar’s feud with Drake, who has not responded to some vicious accusations from the song.
This track was everywhere, and gained more steam during Lamar’s Los Angeles concert, where he played it six times and seemingly brought everyone from his Compton neighborhood on stage with him.
Lamar can win, and the odds of +600 don’t do him justice, making this one of the MTV VMAs best bets.

The project features cameos from Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, who co-starred in Dead Poets Society. Of course, Swift’s album is called Tortured Poets Department, which is very similar to the 1989 movie, starring the great Robin Williams.
She also won this award last year as a considerable favorite, and looks poised to do it again. All of these artists are massive in their own rights, but going up against Taylor and her army of Swifties is intimidating, so I’m sticking with the favorite here.
