Heading into the NFL Week 15 slate, it’s a three-man race in the 2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year odds! However, more coaches have shot up the odds board.
Through 14 weeks, the prices have shifted considerably, but we don’t expect this trend to continue at the top NFL bookies.
Let’s analyze the latest odds and share our updated 2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year predictions.
NFL Coach of the Year Odds for 2024–25
The following NFL Coach of the Year betting odds are courtesy of BetOnline, and you can find them by going to Sports > NFL > NFL Player Futures > Coach of the Year:
COACH | ODDS |
---|---|
Dan Campbell (Lions) | -160 |
Kevin OâConnell (Vikings) | +300 |
Mike Tomlin (Steelers) | +650 |
Dan Quinn (Commanders) | +1600 |
Sean Payton (Broncos) | +1800 |
Mike Macdonald (Seahawks | +2000 |
Andy Reid (Chiefs) | +2200 |
Jim Harbaugh (Chargers) | +2500 |
Detroit’s Dan Campbell (-160) remains at the top of the board at NFL betting sites, and the Lions’ head coach now has an implied probability of 61.5% to win the award! Campbell was +400 to win at the time of our last update a few weeks ago, but he has the Lions favored in the Super Bowl 59 odds. The Lions are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs with the best record in the league at 12-1.
Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell (+340) is next with a 25% implied chance of winning the NFL Coach of the Year award. O’Connell’s Vikings are trying to chase down the Lions in the NFC North, and at 11-2, they’re only one game behind! The Lions host the Vikings in Week 18, so both teams will be aiming to avoid slipping up, to set up a massive final-week showdown in Detroit.
Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin (+650) is the final candidate that online sportsbooks are giving a chance to win, and Tomlin has the Steelers atop AFC North at 10-3. The #1 seed in the AFC is still in play for the Steelers, thanks to a marvelous job by Tomlin and his staff. Tomlin has an implied probability of 13.3% to win the award, and somehow, it would only be his first win!
The 2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year odds then drop to +1800, where you’ll find Washington’s Dan Quinn, and Denver’s Sean Payton at +2000. Both have done fantastic jobs, but it probably won’t be enough to beat out the top three.
NFL Coach of the Year 2024–25 Main Favorites
Three men have a realistic chance to win the 2024–2025 Coach of the Year award. Campbell is at the top of the list, with O’Connell and Tomlin hot on his heels. With four weeks left in the regular season, there is still plenty of football to be played!
Here is a look at the top favorites to win the 2024–2025 Coach of the Year award:
Dan Campbell (-160)
The Lions have a huge game this week at home against Buffalo in NFL Week 15 action, but even a loss shouldn’t drop Campbell from his status as favorite in these NFL Coach of the Year odds. Detroit is winning blowout games, and they’re winning close games, so they’re comfortable however the game is being played.

Detroit has been the best team in the league all season, and by a decent margin, so it’s not surprising that Campbell is here. The Lions are solid on both sides of the ball, and even a spate of injuries to their defense hasn’t stopped them from winning. Much of that is down to Campbell and the mentality he has instilled in this team.
Kevin O’Connell (+300)
O’Connell was +650 at the time of the last update, but the Vikings are on a six-game winning streak now! They had close wins over Chicago (in overtime) and Arizona, but they doubled Atlanta 42-21 in Week 14, picking off former Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins twice.

The way O’Connell has handled Sam Darnold is nothing short of a miracle. Darnold has had a terrific season, and now it’s going to be tough for Minnesota to keep him because the quarterback will get a considerable pay raise after this season. But I’m also backing O’Connell to do the same with J.J. McCarthy, the rookie who has missed all season with a knee injury. O’Connell deserves a ton of credit this season at offshore sportsbooks.
Mike Tomlin (+650)
No one expected the Steelers to be where they are, except maybe Tomlin, who was the favorite at +300 at the time of the last NFL Coach of the Year odds update. But it has more to do with the Lions and Vikings, then it does with the Steelers, who have won four of their last five.
VIDEO: #Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke with Joey Porter Jr. about his holding penalties
Tomlin: “Sometimes I think you care more about that sh*t than I do”
Joey: “Just want to be great”
Tomlin: “You’ll be great, but you’re not gonna be great today”

Tomlin holds his players accountable, from talking to cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (whose father, Joey Sr., played for the Steelers, but just missed out on Tomlin’s tenure by a year) about holding penalties, to telling receiver George Pickens to “grow up” about his penalty issues. He’s the true leader of this team, and it is nothing short of remarkable what Tomlin has done with Pittsburgh.
Top NFL Coach of the Year Sleepers
Unlike most end-of-season awards, sleepers take home the Coach of the Year award at an alarming rate. That’s because it’s difficult to predict which coaches and teams will have to overcome adversity in the upcoming season.
Long shots for this award are often great value, considering there are only 32 coaches who can potentially win it. Here are some of my favorite COY value bets for the NFL after Week 11:
-
The Chiefs keep playing mediocre football, by their standards, and yet, here they are at 12-1 and sitting on the #1 seed in the AFC. Much of that has to do with Reid, who always stays even-keeled, and allows Steve Spagnuolo to run the defense how he wants.

— Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) December 9, 2024
The Chiefs have already clinched the AFC West, but they still need to win to clinch the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. But when it comes down to crunch time, Reid calls winning plays, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes executes them. He probably won’t win because the Chiefs haven’t looked great this season, but you can’t deny the record, and a lot of that is due to Reid.
2024–25 NFL Coach of the Year Prediction and Betting Pick
This could come down to Week 18, when Campbell’s Lions face O’Connell’s Vikings in a potential NFC North clincher. Tomlin does have a chance to leapfrog both, but he needs either team to slip up down the stretch.
Therefore, I’m sticking with Dan Campbell at -160 as my 2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year prediction. The other two offer more betting value, but I truly think Campbell is the best coach in the league this season, and he’ll be rewarded with the award at the end of the campaign!
