NFL Thanksgiving Games Odds and Betting Lines for Week 13
With three games on the Week 13 schedule for Thursday, The Sports Geek has betting picks for all the action in Detroit, Dallas, and Green Bay! Check out the latest NFL Thanksgiving odds for the main betting markets at NFL betting sites below:
Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions Betting Odds
The following NFL Thanksgiving odds are courtesy of Bovada:
TEAM SPREAD MONEYLINE TOTAL Chicago Bears +10.5 (-105) +410 Over 48.5 (-110) Detroit Lions -10.5 (-115) -585 Under 48.5 (-110)
The Detroit Lions are heavy favorites to beat the Chicago Bears in their annual Thanksgiving tradition at Ford Field. As -585 favorites on the moneyline, the Lions have an 85.4% implied probability of winning this matchup. They are also favored to beat the Bears by double digits on the point spread.
Detroit is 10-1 for the first time in franchise history since the 1934 NFL season! That was also the last year the Lions went on a nine-game winning streak, which coincided with the first Thanksgiving game ever in the league.
Will the Lions stay hot and cover the spread on sports betting sites?
New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Odds
The following NFL Thanksgiving odds are courtesy of BetOnline:
TEAM SPREAD MONEYLINE TOTAL NY Giants +4 (-107) +175 Over 37.5 (-110) Dallas Cowboys -4 (-113) -205 Under 37.5 (-110)
The Cowboys are -4.5 or 4-point favorites over the Giants, depending on offshore sportsbooks. Currently, BetOnline has the best line on the favorite at -4 (-113), which indicates the Cowboys are favored to win by more than a field goal.
At -205 on the moneyline, the Cowboys have a 67.2% implied chance to defeat the dysfunctional Giants. They’ve had a lot of success over their NFC East rival, but will it happen without QB Dak Prescott at the controls? That said, the Giants may have more questions to answer than the Cowboys.
Miami Dolphins vs. Green Bay Packers Betting Odds
The following NFL Thanksgiving odds are courtesy of Bovada:
TEAM SPREAD MONEYLINE TOTAL Miami Dolphins +3.5 (-120) +155 Over 47 (-105) Green Bay Packers -3.5 (+100) -180 Under 47 (-115)
In the evening matchup on a special edition of Thursday Night Football, the Miami Dolphins head to Lambeau Field for a meeting between two red-hot teams. According to the point spread, the Packers are favored to win the matchup by slightly more than a field goal.
As a -180 favorite, the Packers hold a 64.3% chance to win — the lowest probability of the NFL Thanksgiving betting odds. It should be an entertaining matchup in a game featuring two clubs reaching peak form in 2024.

NFL Thanksgiving Prediction and Betting Pick: Bears vs. Lions
In something that hasn’t been seen in nearly a century, the Lions are a 10-1 football team! Additionally, it’s the first time since 1934 that the franchise has recorded a nine-game win streak.
From calls from football fans to have the Lions removed from Thanksgiving, to 10-1 and a favorite to win a title, according to the latest Super Bowl odds. They are a well-balanced machine on both sides of the ball on offense and defense.
Led by QB Jared Goff, the Lions are second in the NFL in yards per game with 394.3. The Bears can’t compete with the Lions’ offense one-to-one with rookie QB Caleb Williams. However, Williams has been coming on as of late, with Thomas Brown calling the plays for the Bears.
This throw by Caleb Williams 🔥

He looks much more composed and comfortable over the last two weeks. Williams passed for 571 yards and two touchdowns in tight games against the Packers, 20-19, and Vikings, 30-27 OT. The Bears came up short in both instances, but they are showing much more fight as of late.
The Bears and Lions split in the season series last year. They came close in their last trip at Ford Field in a 31-26 loss, and then knocked off the Lions by 15 points this past December in Chicago. Note that the Bears are 4-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in their previous six games versus divisional opponents in the NFC North.
I expect the Lions to win, but that’s a lot of points to lay, so I recommend siding with the underdog for your NFL Thanksgiving best bets!
NFL Thanksgiving Prediction and Betting Pick: Giants vs. Cowboys
The Giants and Cowboys have a date in what is shaping up to be an ugly matchup at AT&T Stadium. This is a game between misfits in the NFC East, as both the Giants and Cowboys are going through awful seasons.
Who has had it worse this season? That honor belongs to the 2-9 Giants, who have lost six consecutive games entering this week. They haven’t won a game since a 29-20 final over the Seahawks on Oct. 6. A lot has changed in New York in nearly two months.
QB Daniel Jones was benched, demoted to third on the depth chart, and then released from the team. There are rumblings that head coach Brian Daboll is next on the chopping block. GM Joe Schoen may not be far behind if changes aren’t made in a hurry. It’s tough to have any confidence in this Giants’ team hemorrhaging points on both sides of the ball.
It really doesn’t matter who is at quarterback for the Giants. This is a bad team, regardless. QB Tommy DeVito doesn’t have the answers, nor does any other quarterback on this roster.
DeVito was dismantled by the Buccaneers in a 30-7 loss in his first start this season last week. With such a bad offensive line, it doesn’t matter who is taking snaps for the Giants. They are in a tough spot against Micah Parsons and a Cowboys’ pass rush that should get home.
Vita Vea demolishes John Michael Schmitz to sack Tommy DeVito.
Between the Giants OL being overmatched by the Tampa pass rush and DeVito holding the ball too long at times, this could be a long day for Tommy Cutlets.
DeVito has been sacked 3 times already. pic.twitter.com/6NmFcLpBGj
— Doug Rush (@TheDougRush) November 24, 2024
The Giants are winless in their last seven games against the Cowboys, having failed to win since 2021. QB Cooper Rush appeared on the injury report Monday, but head coach Mike McCarthy said he should be fine. If Rush can’t go, Trey Lance will get the start. I don’t think it matters which quarterback gets the nod, though.
Dallas will control the line of scrimmage on the ground to pull away for a win and cover at home! I like a touchdown win for the Cowboys over the Giants on Thanksgiving, so consider the Cowboys -4 for your best Thanksgiving bets.
NFL Thanksgiving Prediction and Betting Pick: Dolphins vs. Packers
The Dolphins and Packers both look to stay hot after convincing wins this past weekend. Miami has won three consecutive games since Tua Tagovailoa has returned to the starting lineup. He nearly led the Dolphins to a victory over the Bills, but came up just short in a 30-27 loss.

This is a different Dolphins’ squad than earlier in the season. They might be 5-6, but have completely turned their campaign around after a lackluster opening stretch. Look for the Dolphins to continue to play solid football, but will it be enough to defeat the Packers?
The Packers are coming off a big 38-10 win over the 49ers, but beating that team isn’t the same thing as a full-strength San Francisco squad. QB Brandon Allen started in place of the injured Brock Purdy, so it was a lay-up for the Packers.
Led by QB Jordan Love and a strong running game, the Packers are a solid football team in the hunt, with an 8-3 record and wins in five of their last six games. However, you would have lost money backing the Packers against the spread, as they have covered in just one of their previous six matchups.
The key to beating the Packers is slowing down Love. Green Bay has a terrific running game, but they rely on Love getting the ball downfield to open up the run. Miami’s secondary has been vastly underrated this season, as they are currently eighth with 197.5 yards conceded per game.
This one should go down to the wire, so I don’t see it being worthwhile to lay points. The best betting value is on the Dolphins plus the points for your NFL Thanksgiving picks!
Team Thanksgiving Prop Bets: Bears vs. Lions, Giants vs. Cowboys, Dolphins vs. Packers
Bovada has a variety of NFL Thanksgiving prop bets for all three matchups on Thursday. Let’s delve into my top team props:
Highest Scoring Half (CHI/DET): First (-143)
- First Half (-143)
- Second Half (+115)
- Both Halves Same (+1600)
The Detroit Lions have been quick starters this season. They aren’t hesitant about striking and taking chances early in ball games. Note that Detroit leads the NFL by a healthy margin with 18.7 points per first half.
This is contrasted with 13.5 points per second half this season. The Bears are scoring slightly more in the second, but I expect Williams to come firing out of the gate to try and catch the Lions napping.
Look for a high-scoring first half before the defenses settle in at Ford Field on Thursday afternoon. With that in mind, consider backing the first half being the highest scoring for your best NFL Thanksgiving prop bets!
Both Teams (NYG/DAL) to Score 16 Points or More? No (-165)
- No (-165)
- Yes (+125)
I don’t expect either offense to find a consistent rhythm in this contest. DeVito was under a ton of pressure against the Buccaneers, and it appears that he will see a similar situation against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
Dumping Jones and starting DeVito isn’t much of an improvement at all. The offense continuing to struggle will only show how the offensive issues go far beyond the starting quarterback.
Meanwhile, I’m not overly optimistic that Rush, or Lance, will get the Cowboys’ offense running up and down the field. I expect the Cowboys to employ a methodical attack on the ground with their running game to exploit a bad rush defense. The Giants are 30th in the NFL against the run, with more than 145 yards against per game.
There shouldn’t be many points, so no, both teams won’t score 16 or more points!
Largest Lead of the Game (MIA/GB): 14 Points and Under
This should be the most competitive and entertaining game on the Thanksgiving schedule! I donât suspect either the Dolphins or Packers are going to run away with this contest. We should see these offenses get into a bit of a duel and trade points at Lambeau Field. These teams are in similar form and I donât foresee a collapse or a blowing developing here. Consider playing the 14 points and under for the largest lead Thanksgiving football prop bet at Bovada! In addition to team props, consider adding a few Thanksgiving player prop bets to your card! There are bets from each matchup that have caught my attention, so letâs analyze these NFL Thanksgiving picks below: While it took Williams some time to get a grasp of the NFL game, he is off and running with the Bears now. As I noted, the switch to Brown calling plays has worked wonders for Williamsâ confidence and decision-making. Brown is playing to his strengths, instead of trying to get something that isnât there. He has been throwing the ball with a lot more confidence and decisiveness. Additionally, Williams hasnât made any mistakes recently, as he hasnât thrown an interception in six games since October 13! Caleb Williams is now the @ChicagoBears franchise leader for rookie passing yards! pic.twitter.com/qo03S9J7Iz — FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) November 24, 2024 A conservative approach is not going to work out well for the Bears, so Williams has to keep throwing. Starting Lionsâ cornerback Carlton Davis missed practice on Monday after exiting with an injury. That would be a key absence for the Lions, but Williams and the Bears benefit. Williams over 229.5 passing yards is one of the best Thanksgiving player props on the board today! DâAndre Swiftâs receiving prop is well worth a look against the Lions on Thanksgiving. I anticipate Williams to utilize the underneath pass against an aggressive Lionsâ defense in this one. That should afford Swift several opportunities to find room as a pass catcher off screens and short receptions. The former Lion should have an extra kick of motivation against his ex-employer, too. Swift has logged 278 yards on 31 receptions as a receiver this year. Swift over 13.5 receiving yards is a solid option to consider for your best Thanksgiving bets today! I donât expect the Cowboys to get too cute in this matchup. They will keep it simple and give what the defense is affording them. That likely means RB Rico Dowdle is going to receive a heavy workload on Thanksgiving. Dowdle enters this matchup with 488 yards rushing on 4.4 yards per carry. He is coming off one of his best performances of the season, rushing for 86 yards on 19 attempts. That is likely the formula that the Cowboys will utilize for their offensive game plan against the Giants. The Giantsâ defensive line has been getting pushed and manhandled this season. On both sides of the ball in the trenches, the Giants have been well out of form. Look for Dowdle to pick his way through a thin defense for 70 or 80 rushing yards, so this is a great play on the over 66.5! Another sharp running back receiving prop to consider for your 2024 Thanksgiving best bets is on DeâVon Achane. The star Dolphinsâ back has collected 49 receptions and 373 receiving yards in the passing game. Achane has another TD! ðº: #NEvsMIA on CBS/Paramount+ — NFL (@NFL) November 24, 2024 He also scored five times, including in the latest matchup against the Commanders. Achane has been red-hot in the passing game with 26 receptions over the last five weeks! The multi-talented running back is seeing more targets than most wide receivers on this team, so Achane at a short number to go over 29.5 is worth a look. He should finish with 38 receiving yards, making Achane a top Thanksgiving prop bet! To conclude your best NFL Thanksgivingbets this week, consider a parlay bet offering a big payout! From the available wagers at Bovada for the Thanksgiving slate, the prop bets are worth putting together on one ticket. My ticket includes Achane over 29.5 receiving yards, Williams over 229.5 passing yards, and Dowdle over 66.5 rushing yards. If these three bets hit, the wager pays out an impressive +541! Place a $100 wager to win $540.81 on this Thanksgiving parlay. The Sports Geek is excited to open the Week 13 card with our best Thanksgiving bets for all three matchups!
