Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers Odds and Best Bets

Thursday Night Football features one of the week’s best matchups, with the Denver Broncos (9-5) taking on the Chargers (8-6) in Los Angeles. Kansas City already won the AFC West, but Denver and LA are fighting for Wild Card spots. Bovada lists LA as the 3-point home favorite in the opening NFL football odds for Week 16.

The Broncos have been the hotter team lately, winning four straight games. LA has lost back-to-back games, but they beat the Broncos 23-16 in their first matchup this season. The Chargers defense is also coming off its worst game of the season, allowing Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers to score 40 points.

A road divisional game on a short week is challenging, but I think the Broncos are the way to go in this game. Rookie of the Year contender Bo Nix has improved significantly since his first matchup against LA and can lead Denver to the road win on Thursday.

Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs Odds and Best Bets

Week 16 features two Saturday matchups, including one between divisional champions. Houston and Kansas City have already won the AFC South and AFC West, respectively. The Chiefs are a 2-point home underdog in the latest Week 16 NFL odds.

The reigning champions have been road underdogs twice this season, against the 49ers and the Bills. The Chiefs have not been home underdogs since Week 6 of the 2022 season. KC is in this position because Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury could cause him to miss the contest.

Houston has done little to inspire confidence this season and is only in the playoffs because it plays in the worst division in the NFL. The Chiefs’ defense and running back Isiah Pacheco, who recently returned from a broken leg, can lead KC to the upset win this week.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds and Best Bets

The second game of Saturday’s doubleheader also features two playoff teams. Pittsburgh (10-4) takes on Baltimore (9-5) for first place in the AFC North. Online sportsbooks have the Ravens as 6.5-point home favorites in the latest NFL lines for Week 16.

Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled without wide receiver George Pickens, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. The Steelers’ defense could also be without its best player after T.J. Watt sprained his ankle in the team’s loss to Philadelphia.

Baltimore, on the other hand, had a bye in Week 14 and dominated the Giants 35-14 last week. Lamar Jackson has struggled against Pittsburgh in his career, but that should change this week. The Ravens can win this matchup against a depleted Steelers team by double digits.

New York Giants vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds and Best Bets

Speaking of the Giants, the G-Men must hit the road this week to take on the Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons are 10-point home favorites in the current NFL spreads for Week 16. Atlanta beat Las Vegas 15-9 on Monday Night Football in Week 15, their first win since Week 9.

New York has been terrible this season, and the Giants have been worse since cutting Daniel Jones. The Giants mustered just 236 yards of total offense last week with Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle under center. However, Atlanta’s offense has also had its fair share of struggles lately.

A 10-point spread is usually reserved for great teams, and the Falcons are far from that. Atlanta should win this game to stay alive in the NFC South title hunt, but New York will cover the 10-point spread.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers Odds and Best Bets

Arizona’s 30-17 win over the Patriots kept the Cardinal’s slim playoff hopes alive. They face another easy matchup this week against the Panthers (3-11) in Carolina. The Panthers are getting four points in the updated NFL Week 16 lines.

The Panthers have been competitive at times this season, but they have struggled to get over the hump and win games. Arizona has everything to play for, as another loss could eliminate them from the highly competitive NFC playoff race.

Kyler Murray and company should win this game on the road to improve to 8-7. However, they have been held to 22 points or fewer in three of their last four games. Carolina can cover the 4-point spread at home this week against the Cardinals.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears Odds and Best Bets

Detroit racked up 521 yards of total offense and 42 points against Buffalo, but the Bills still came out of the game with the win. The loss ended the Lions’ 11-game win streak and jeopardized their chances of securing the NFC’s number-one seed. On the bright side, Detroit faces Chicago this week, the worst team in an otherwise highly competitive NFC North.

The Detroit Lions had the team to win it all. With David Montgomery, Carlton Davis, Khalil Dorsey and Alex McNeill injured this week and 21 guys on IR, the Lions are absolutely falling apart. Detroit fans finally got the dominant team they deserve and injuries are derailing them.

The Lions are laying 6.5 points on the road in Chicag in the current NFL Week 16 projections. Chicago has lost eight straight games and averaged just 15 points PPG over its last three contests.

Injuries have ravaged Detroit’s defense, and now their offense has also been hit with the injury bug. Running back David Montgomery tore his MCL and is out for the season. The Lions still have plenty of firepower on offense, though, and should cover the spread on the road in Chicago.

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds and Best Bets

Jonathan Taylor’s unforced fumble at the goal line was the turning point in the Colts’ 31-13 loss to Denver. Indianapolis was outscored 24-0 from that point forward, and the Colts were virtually eliminated from playoff contention. They need to win out to have any chance of making the postseason this year.

Indianapolis could not have asked for a better opponent with their season on the line. The Colts are 4.5-point home favorites in the NFL Week 16 spreads for this week’s game against the Titans. Tennessee (3-11) could be due for a quarterback change, but even that may not be enough to push them past the Colts.

Indy won their first matchup with Tennessee this season, beating the Titans 20-17 on the road. This is a divisional game, so the score will likely be close. However, I think the Colts will beat the Titans this Sunday to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Jets Odds and Best Bets

The Rams 12-6  win over the 49ers gave Los Angeles a half-game lead in the NFC West with three games left to play. LA must keep winning to lock up its first divisional title since 2021. The Rams are 3.5-point favorites in the current NFL betting lines for Week 16.

Covering their spread on the road will be easier said than done for the Rams. LA faces the Jets in New York this week. The Jets beat the Jaguars (3-11) last week, picking up their fourth win of the season thanks to a vintage Davante Adams performance in the second half.

Adams’ big second half was necessary after the Jets’ defense allowed Mac Jones to rack up 294 yards and two passing touchdowns. New York’s defense faces a much more formidable test this week against LA’s typically high-flying offense. LA should move the ball at will against the Jets, securing their ninth win and covering the spread.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Odds and Best Bets

Philadelphia (12-2) is a half-game behind the Lions (12-2) for the top seed in the NFC. The Eagles could take another step toward the number one seed and win the NFC East this week with a win over the Commanders. Philly is a 3-point road favorite in Bovada’s NFL Week 16 betting odds.

The Eagles are flying high after their 27-13 win over the Steelers last week. Philadelphia has won a franchise record 10 straight games, including a 26-14 victory over Washington in Week 11. Washington has won back-to-back games but needed a failed two-point conversion to beat the Saints in Week 15.

Divisional matchups can be tricky to predict, but the Eagles are clearly the better team. Philadelphia should win and cover the field goals spread on the road this weekend.

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals Odds and Best Bets

Another thrilling divisional matchup this weekend is the battle of Ohio between the Browns and the Bengals. Cincinnati is 6-8, but the Bengals are still holding onto their thin playoff hopes. Joe Burrow must sweep the Browns for the first time in his career for Cincinnati to remain in postseason contention.

Bovada lists the Bengals as 7-point home favorites for their second matchup against the Browns this season. Cleveland struggled last week in their 21-7 loss to the Chiefs, but they face a much easier matchup against Cincinnati’s below-average defense.

Jameis Winston provided a much-needed spark for the Browns, but it was short-lived. His interception problem may have cost Winston his starting job. The QB could lead the Browns to a win if he’s at his best, but if he is out, then Cincinnati should win and cover the spread.

Even if Winston is one the filed, it’s still hard to go against the favorite here in the moneyline.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds and Best Bets

Seattle’s Week 15 loss to Green Bay cost them the NFC West division lead. The Seahawks face another tough test at home this week against the Vikings (12-2). Minnesota has won seven consecutive games and is in play for the number-one seed in the NFC this season.

The Seahawks’ offense struggled without running back Kenneth Walker last week, earning just 208 total yards. Their defense, on the other hand, struggled to stop the Packers, allowing Green Bay to jump out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Minnesota is a 3-point favorite in the current NFL lines for Week 16, 2024. The Vikings have been rolling lately and should continue their success against the Seahawks this week. Minnesota can definitely win and cover the spread on Sunday in Seattle.

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills Odds and Best Bets

The Bills’ 48-42 win over the Lions made Buffalo the Super Bowl 59 favorite and locked up the MVP for Josh Allen. Buffalo (11-3) still has an outside shot at the number one seed, too, but they need help to catch the Chiefs (13-1). All the Bills can do is focus on their remaining schedule, starting with their game against the Patriots (3-11) this week.

Buffalo is laying 14 points in their first divisional matchup against New England this season. The Patriots have lost five of their last six games, and first-year head coach Jared Mayo could be on the hot seat.

Allen and the Bills will win this game, but covering 14 points is challenging in the NFL. Buffalo will know how realistic their chances of getting the top seed will be as KC plays on Saturday. If the Chiefs win, it could be better for the Bills to turn their focus to the postseason, taking their foot off the pedal and allowing the Patriots to cover the spread.

Las Vegas has lost 10 straight games and has not scored 20 or more points since Week 9. No one should ever feel confident betting on Mac Jones, but the Jaguars should have the edge in what will likely be the least-watched game of the week.

The Raiders could win if quarterback Aidan O’Connell can play, but his status is uncertain. If I had to bet right now, I would say Jacksonville wins on the road in Vegas, and given the size of the spread, they should cover as well.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Miami Dolphins Odds and Best Bets

Two of the best offensive-minded head coaches square off this week as Miami hosts San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers are 1.5-point road underdogs against Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins.

Miami’s heartbreaking loss to Houston last week all but eliminated them from the playoffs, but San Francisco is riddled with injuries. Both teams are unlikely to make the playoffs, but they have not officially been eliminated.

Miami is the healthier team, but they have struggled against good teams under McDaniel. San Fran is the underdog, but Shanahan and company have had extra time to prepare after their TNF loss to LA in Week 15. The 49ers are the better bet to win this weekend.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds and Best Bets

The NFC South-leading Buccaneers are 4-point favorites against the Cowboys this weekend for their Sunday Night Football matchup. Dallas is 3-1 in Cooper Rush’s last four starts and won big in Carolina last week. However, the Cowboys have also won just one game at home this season.

Tampa has won four straight games, scoring at least 26 points in every game during that stretch. Baker Mayfield has played at a high level recently, throwing for at least 288 yards in three of his last four starts. The Bucs’ running game has also come alive, and the team has had at least 152 rushing yards in each of its last four games.

Dallas’s defense has improved since Micah Parson returned to the lineup, but the team is still limited. Tampa Bay should win this game and cover the 4-point spread in Dallas this week.

New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers Odds and Best Bets

The Packers host the Saints on Monday Night Football this week in the final game of Week 16. Green Bay is laying 13.5 points, making Jordan Love and company the second-biggest favorite of the week.

New Orleans nearly pulled off the comeback win last week against Washington but failed on their game-winning two-point conversion attempt. The Saints’ close loss was especially costly as star running back Alvin Kamara left the game with a groin injury.

Green Bay is competing for playoff positioning in the NFC, and the Saints have nothing left to play for. The Packers should dominate this game at home, but 13.5 points will be too much for Green Bay to cover.
