After a Week 1 that saw Philadelphia and Green Bay open the season in Brazil on a Friday night, it’s back to business as usual for the NFL for Week 2. There is the Thursday night game to kick off the week, then 14 games on Sunday, and the Monday night game to finish the week.

Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

Bovada’s 2024 NFL Week 2 betting odds open with an exciting AFC East matchup between Buffalo and Miami. The Bills are 2.0-point underdogs on the road in this TNF showdown. Miami are -130 favorites to win outright, and the over/under is listed at 48.5 points.

Both teams overcame significant deficits at home in their season openers. Buffalo needed Josh Allen to perform like the MVP contender he is to beat Arizona. Repeating that performance will be easier said than done against Miami.

The Bills lost significant talent on both sides of the ball in the offseason, and I think it will cost them this week. Tyreek Hill and Miami’s other offensive stars already appear in mid-season form. Miami should win and cover in a high-scoring game.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The Raiders and the Ravens both lost in their season openers, but one of them can improve to .500 on the season this weekend. Baltimore is the 9.5-point favorite at home this week in the 2024 NFL Week 2 odds at Bovada. The Ravens are -480 on the moneyline, and the total points are projected at over/under 41.5.

Baltimore could have beaten the Chiefs if Isaiah Likely had kept his foot in bounds. Las Vegas, on the other hand, struggled to move the ball consistently against the Chargers. Baltimore is a lock to win this game, but it is difficult to imagine they cover a 9.5-point spread.

Despite their struggles on offense, Las Vegas has a good defensive line, and Baltimore’s offensive line is average at best. I think the Ravens win, but the Raiders cover, and these teams combine for over 41.5 points.

LA Chargers vs. Carolina Panthers Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The Chargers kicked off the Jim Harbaugh Era with a win against the Raiders, and they are 6.5-point favorites on the road this weekend against the Panthers. LA is the biggest road favorite of the weekend at -290 in the current NFL odds for Week 2.

Carolina is coming off a blowout loss to New Orleans, where the Panthers were outmatched on both sides of the ball. Despite the cross-country flight, the Chargers will similarly be able to overwhelm Carolina this weekend. If the Panthers’ defense plays the same as it did in the opener, the Chargers could cover the 39 points themselves.

The Chargers should win this game, but betting on a touchdown favorite is a tough ask. I think LA will win, but Carolina should cover to avoid back-to-back blowout losses to start the season.

New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

Next in the NFL football odds for Week 2 is the game between New Orleans and Dallas. Both teams secured lopsided wins in their openers, and the Cowboys are 6.5-point favorites at home. The Saints are +235 moneyline underdogs, and the over/under is 45.5 points.

Dallas has been sensational at home recently, going 16-1 in the regular season the last two years and averaging over 300 PPG, while holding opponents to under 20 PPG. The Saints looked great in Week 1, but that was against the lowly Panthers. I think New Orleans is in for a rude awakening this weekend at AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys should win this game easily and, if they score their normal 30+ points at home, cover a significant portion of the total themselves. I suggest taking the Cowboys to win and cover and betting on the over in this NFC matchup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The Buccaneers and the Lions had one of the most exciting playoff games last year, with Detroit coming out on top 31-23. Tampa Bay can avenge their postseason loss this week in Detroit. The Lions are favored by 7.0 points and listed at -320 on the moneyline in the current NFL lines for Week 2.

Both teams are riding high after winning their openers, but I think the Lions could slip up this week. Detroit dropped its Week 2 game last year against the Seahawks after beating the Chiefs on the road. Tampa Bay is a feisty team, and they are one of my favorite NFL spreads for Week 2.

The Buccaneers are healthier than the Rams, too, so the Lions will not benefit from playing a depleted offense. I like Tampa Bay to win outright in a high-scoring game.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Green Bay Packers Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

This Colts-Packers matchup was supposed to feature two of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL. Unfortunately, with Jordan Love injured in the opener, Green Bay will start Malik Willis. The quarterback change has caused the Packers to slip to 3.5-point underdogs at home in the updated 2024 NFL Week 2 lines.

Anthony Richardson and the Colts should win this game, but Lambeau Field is a tough place to play. The Colts also struggled to stop Joe Mixon in the opener, so Josh Jacobs could have a field day in the Packers’ home opener.

I think Indianapolis will win this game, but the Packers should cover the 3.5-point spread. Neither team has an outstanding defense, and if the Packers have any life on offense, then these teams should cover the over on 40.5 points.

Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

Jacksonville is a 3.5-point favorite for their home opener against the Browns in Bovada’s NFL Week 2 2024 odds. The Jaguars had a two-score lead over the Dolphins at halftime in Week 1, but lost 20-17 after their offense stalled out in the second half. Cleveland was blown out by Dallas in its home opener last week and could be looking to work out some frustration against Jacksonville.

The biggest question for this game is which Browns’ offense will show up. Deshaun Watson and company struggled in the opener, but the Jaguars’ defense should be easier to move the ball against than the Cowboys.

I think the Browns will win this game, especially if it rains in Jacksonville this weekend. Trevor Lawrence is notorious for playing poorly in the rain, and Cleveland has an excellent defense that can force turnovers.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

San Francisco dominated the season’s first Monday Night Football game, beating the Jets 32-19. The 49ers moved the ball up and down the field against a top-rated defense, and they did it without Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco is a 5.5-point road favorite against Minnesota in Bovada’s 2024 Week 2 NFL odds.

The Vikings dominated the Giants in Week 1, but New York could be the worst team in the NFL this season. Minnesota will be lucky to keep the game within a touchdown this week.

I believe the 49ers will win this matchup easily, even on a short week. San Francisco should win and cover the 5.5-point spread. Assuming the right 49ers’ team shows up, the total points for this game should also go over 45.

Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

New England upset Cincinnati last week, and they can pull off another upset this weekend. Bovada lists the Patriots as 3.5-point underdogs in its NFL Week 2 lines. The visiting Seahawks are listed at -180.

Seattle defeated Denver last weekend, but the Broncos were starting rookie quarterback Bo Nix. Traveling across the country and playing a stout Patriots’ defense should be more challenging.

I believe New England can win outright, and should at least cover the spread. The pressure will be on the Patriots’ defense to keep them in this game and keep it a low-scoring affair.

New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The Jets struggled in their season opener against a tough 49ers’ team on the road. New York has a chance to put that loss behind them with a much easier matchup this week. Aaron Rodgers and company will hit the road again this week, traveling to Tennessee.

New York is a 3.5-point road favorite in this matchup. The Titans’ defense looked outstanding in Week 1 against rookie Caleb Williams. However, Tennessee’s offense and special teams let a double-digit lead slip away with turnovers and big returns.

I think the Jets will win this game and get back to .500 on the season. However, the Titans have the talent to make this a dogfight, and they should cover the spread in their home opener.

New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The other New York team, the Giants, also lost in Week 1. Daniel Jones and the Giants’ offense looked terrible, and many pundits are suggesting Jones should be benched. They are 2.5-point underdogs in the current NFL Week 2 projections.

New York faces a divisional opponent this week in the Washington Commanders. This could be rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ best chance to have an early-season breakout game.

At the very least, the Commanders should win and cover the spread at home. New York has a good defensive line, but Jones and the offense will likely put the team in tough spots with turnovers throughout the game.

LA Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The Rams and Cardinals both lost in Week 1, and need a win this week to stay in the hunt for the division title. Despite LA already being ravished by the injury bug, Arizona is only a 1.5-point favorite at home. The Rams are listed at +105 to win the game outright.

Arizona put a scare in Buffalo early, but they could not hold on to their double-digit lead. Matthew Stafford and a depleted Rams’ offense should be easy to contain.

If the Cardinals can play a complete game, they should win at home this weekend. LA struggled to contain the run late in their loss to the Lions, so Kyler Murray and company should be able to control the clock and secure their first win of the year. 

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

Next is an AFC matchup between the Steelers (-150) and the Broncos in Denver. Despite a brewing quarterback controversy, Pittsburgh is a 3.0-point road favorite in Bovada’s 2024 NFL football odds for Week 2.

Pittsburgh’s defense will be the reason they win or lose this game. If T.J. Watt can wreak havoc again this week, rookie quarterback Bo Nix will be in for a long day at the office.

I think the Steelers will win, but not cover, in a low-scoring game. The biggest question is whether Pittsburgh’s kicking game can overcome the loss of P Cameron Johnston. Johnston, who was also the holder on field goals,  suffered a season-ending leg injury.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The marquee matchup of the late mid-afternoon games is the Bengals vs. Chiefs (-270). Kansas City is a 6.0-point favorite at home against a Cincinnati team that lost to New England last week.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs could solidify their standing as the favorite, according to Super Bowl 59 odds, with a dominant win. On the other hand, Joe Burrow is 3-1 against Patrick Mahomes in their careers.

If the Bengals are healthy, they should at least cover their 2024 NFL spread for Week 2. Cincinnati may cover the spread, but Kansas City will win this game and improve to 2-0 at home and on the season.

Chicago Bears vs. Houston Texans Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

First overall pick and ROTY front-runner Caleb Williams will make his prime-time debut this week on Sunday Night Football when the Bears take on the Texans. Williams struggled in his NFL debut last week, but Chicago overcame his lackluster performance to get the win over Tennessee. Houston is a 6.5-point favorite at home in the 2024 NFL Week 2 projections.

Houston’s offense played relatively well in Week 1, compared to other teams across the league. The Bears have a good defense, but they could be outmatched this weekend against the Texans.

C.J. Stroud had the ninth-most passing yards on opening weekend, and he should have another top-10 performance on SNF. Stroud and the Texans win, but the Bears cover the 6.5-point spread.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds, Lines, and Best Bets

The finale of Week 2 is a Monday Night Football showdown between the Falcons and the Eagles (-280) in Philadelphia. Atlanta struggled in its opener, losing to Pittsburgh 18-10 at home. Philly is a 6.5-point favorite in the current NFL week 2 spreads.

Saquon Barkley’s three total touchdowns powered the Eagles to a 34-29 win in Brazil last week. However, expecting a repeat performance from Barkley this week is unreasonable.

On the bright side for Eagles’ fans, I think the team’s other stars will play better this week. Philly should win this game and cover the touchdown spread, especially if Kirk Cousins and the Falcons’ offense look as bad as they did last week.
