New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Odds and Best Bets

Thursday Night Football will feature an AFC East matchup for the second straight week. The Patriots (+230) will travel to East Rutherford to take on the Jets (-280). Bovada has New York listed as a 6.5-point favorite in their home opener.

New England surpassed expectations this season by being competitive in its first two games. Both teams are 1-1, and this should be a close divisional matchup.

Aaron Rodgers and the Jets should win this game. Expecting the Patriots to secure two road upsets in the first three games is a tough sell. I believe the Patriots’ defense will travel, though, allowing them to cover the spread.

New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns Odds and Best Bets

Sunday’s Week 3 games start with an exciting slate of 1:00 p.m. EDT games, including a matchup between the Giants (+225) and the Browns (-275). Cleveland is a 6.0-point favorite at home, and the over/under is set at 38.5 total points in the latest NFL Week 3 odds.

New York is 0-2, but they looked better in their Week 2 loss to Washington than in the season opener. Likewise, the Browns were better last week, beating the Jaguars in Jacksonville to improve to 1-1.

Cleveland should win this game based on its defense alone. I expect Daniel Jones and company to struggle again this week against a tough defense on the road. The Browns will win and should cover in a relatively low-scoring affair.

Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds and Best Bets

The Bears and Colts both lost in Week 2, but they have a chance to get their seasons back on track this week. Indianapolis is a 2.0-point favorite at home in the latest NFL odds for Week 3. Chicago is available at +115 on the moneyline to secure the upset in Indy this weekend.

Indianapolis is a surprising 0-2 to start the year and needs this win to keep its playoff hopes alive. They are also at home and have a good enough defense to keep the Bears’ offense in check. Indy is weak against the run, but the Bears have a bad offensive line and a worse running game.

The bigger question is whether Anthony Richardson can effectively operate the Colts’ offense against a tough Chicago defense. A desperate Indy team will be more likely to make mistakes, leading to a Bears’ upset in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Texans vs. Vikings NFL Week 3 Best Bets

Two undefeated teams will square off in Minnesota this week when the Texans face the Vikings. Despite securing an upset of the 49ers last week, the Vikings are 2.5-point home underdogs in Bovada’s NFL odds for Week 3 2024.

The Texans’ defense harassed Caleb Williams all game last week, and they will try to do the same to Sam Darnold. Houston’s offense played as well as expected against a stout Bears’ defense, so they should be ready for another challenging game this week.

This is one of the toughest NFL betting lines in Week 3 to pick. Ultimately, I believe the Texans will win, but I recommend hedging your bet by taking the Vikings to cover.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints Odds and Best Bets

The Eagles lost a heartbreaker on Monday this week to the Falcons. RB Saquon Barkley dropped a pass that would have sealed the game, allowing the Falcons to drive for the game-winning touchdown. Philly is a 2.5-point underdog on the road in New Orleans this week, according to Bovada’s 2024 NFL Week 3 projections.

By contrast, New Orleans has dominated both opponents so far this season, winning by a combined score of 91-29. The Saints are at home, and they will be a tough early-season test for the Eagles’ defense.

New Orleans’ scoring has to come down eventually, but I think the Saints are in a great position for another big win this week. The Saints win and cover the 2.5-point spread in New Orleans.

LA Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Odds and Best Bets

Next on my list of NFL Week 3 best bets is a battle of undefeated teams in Pittsburgh. The Steelers (-125) are slight favorites in their home opener against the Chargers (+105). Pittsburgh is available at -1.5 (-110), and the over/under is listed at over/under 35.5 total points.

The Steelers offense has struggled to find the end zone this year, but its special teams and defense have led them to a 2-0 start. LA, on the other hand, has leaned on its rushing attack to start the Jim Harbaugh Era.

It will be strength-on-strength this week, and I think the Chargers will be the team to move to 3-0 this week. Pittsburgh’s run defense has lagged behind its pass defense for years. LA will be able to expose that this weekend, assuming rookie tackle Joe Alt can neutralize DPOY candidate T.J. Watt.

Denver Broncos vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds and Best Bets

The Broncos will be playing in their third time zone in as many weeks as their tough opening schedule continues as they travel to Tampa Bay this weekend. Tampa Bay is a touchdown favorite in the 2024 Week 3 NFL odds.

Denver’s’ offense has struggled so far this season, but that is to be expected when starting a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix. The Buccaneers’ defense feasted against a rookie QB (Washington’s Jayden Daniels) in Week 1, and they should have another outstanding performance this weekend.

I expect the Buccaneers to win this game easily and improve to 3-0 to start the season. However, if they are riding too high after their win in Detroit, the Bucs could let the Broncos hand around and cover the spread.

Green Bay Packers vs. Tennessee Titans Odds and Best Bets

Malik Willis and the Packers upset the Colts last week, and they will have another shot at upsetting a team this week. Green Bay is a 3.0-point underdog in the current Week 3 NFL odds for Willis’ return to Tennessee. The Titans drafted Willis in 2022, but traded him to Green Bay earlier this year.

Tennessee is 0-2, but its defense has kept the Titans in both games so far this year. If they can contain the Packers’ running game, then Tennessee should be able to secure its first win of the season.

Green Bay’s defense will have plenty of opportunities to make plays of its own against a Will Levis-led Tennessee offense. Ultimately, I think the Titans pull out the win and cover the field-goal spread at home.

Carolina Panthers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Odds and Best Bets

The Panthers made the surprising decision to bench Bryce Young two weeks into the season. Putting Andy Dalton into the lineup moved Carolina from 7-point underdogs to 5.5-point underdogs this weekend in Las Vegas. The Raiders lost in Week 1, but earned their first win with an upset victory over the Ravens.

Dalton should make the Panthers more competitive; however, talent deficiencies across the roster will still make it challenging for Carolina to win. Las Vegas has a good defensive line that will be on the attack throughout the game.

The Raiders should win at home, improving to 2-1 to start the decision. Covering a 5.5-point spread will be challenging, though, especially with Dalton now starting for the Panthers. Las Vegas wins, but the Panthers cover their spread as road underdogs.

Miami Dolphins vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds and Best Bets

Miami lost at home on Thursday Night Football, but dropping another game to the Bills is only the start of the Dolphins’ worries. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion, and his career could be in jeopardy.

Tagovailoa is almost certainly out for this week, and the Dolphins have to travel across the country to play the Seahawks in Seattle. The Seahawks are 2-0, and their defense will do its best to make life terrible for Skylar Thompson this weekend.

Seattle is my 2024 NFL Week 3 best bet for this week. They will win, but Mike McDaniel has a week to prepare Thompson to play, so the Dolphins should cover.

Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds and Best Bets

The Lions and Cardinals are both 1-1, but they got there in radically different ways. Detroit won a close game over the Rams at home to start the year, but lost a tough game to the Buccaneers in Week 2. Arizona nearly upset the Bills in Week 1, and then dominated the Rams last week.

Despite their stellar performance last week, the Cardinals are 2.5-point underdogs at home in Bovada’s NFL football odds for Week 3. Detroit has struggled out of the gate this year, and Arizona has started hot in both games.

The Lions have also been inefficient in the red zone this year. If that continues this week, they could easily lose to an upstart Cardinals team on the road. I think Arizona will surprise people again this week with another win at home.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds and Best Bets

Baltimore and Dallas are two teams that were on the wrong side of shocking upsets in Week 2. The Ravens were double-digit favorites against the Raiders and lost. Likewise, Dallas was a touchdown-favorite against New Orleans, but lost 44-19 to the Saints.

These teams are desperate for a win, and the Ravens (0-2) are 1-point road favorites in the last NFL spread for Week 3. Dallas was dominant at home the previous two regular seasons, but their two recent appearances have been blowout losses.

Lamar Jackson is also 20-3 against NFC teams in his career. Despite that, I think the Cowboys will find a way to win this game and improve to 2-1.

San Francisco 49ers vs. LA Rams Odds and Best Bets

Speaking of teams coming off a blowout loss, the Rams are 7.0-point underdogs at home against the 49ers. Both teams lost last week, but LA’s 41-10 loss was especially costly. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp was injured and will join Puka Nacua on the bench this week.

The 49ers have won nine of their last 11 matchups against the Rams, dominating this NFC West rivalry. The injury bug has hit LA hard this year, and their playoff dreams are already in jeopardy.

San Francisco has its own frustrations to work through, and LA is the perfect punching bag. I believe the 49ers will win and cover their NFL Week 3 lines.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds and Best Bets

Sunday Night ends with an exciting cross-conference matchup between the Chiefs and Falcons. Atlanta is a 2.5-point home underdog in the NFL Lines for Week 3, 2024. Kansas City is 2-0, but they easily could have lost both of their first two games of the season.

Likewise, the Falcons would have been 0-2 if Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley had not dropped the game-winning pass. But he did drop it, and the Falcons have momentum heading into this matchup.

The Chiefs have a habit of dropping “easy” games early in the year, and I think the Falcons will pull off the upset this weekend. Furthermore, I believe this will be a low-scoring game and recommend the under on the NFL Week 3, 2024 total spread for this SNF matchup.  

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Buffalo Bills Odds and Best Bets

The Jaguars have been one of the Bills’ biggest hurdles recently. However, this season’s matchup should be different, as it is in Buffalo as part of a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Jacksonville is also 0-2, having lost to the Dolphins and Browns to start the season.

Buffalo, by comparison, looked much better against a Dolphins team that the Jaguars struggled with. The Bills are a 5.5-point favorite at home in Bovada’s NFL Week 3 2024 lines. 

Josh Allen and company ran all over the Dolphins, but the Jaguars have a more formidable run defense. The Bills will win this game, but I think a Jaguars team desperate to avoid a 0-3 start will keep this game close enough to cover +5.5.

Washington Commanders vs. Cincinnati Bengals Odds and Best Bets

The second game in MNF’s doubleheader this week will see the Commanders (+290) take on the Bengals (-380) in Cincinnati. Bovada has the Bengals as an 7.5-point favorite in its NFL Week 3 projections.

Washington beat the Giants to improve to 1-1, and the Bengals are 0-2 after two tough losses to start their season. The Bengals will be the more desperate team, and they are playing at home in prime time. Joe Burrow and Cincinnati’s offense should be better this week, and I expect them to win against the Commanders.

However, it is challenging to cover more than touchdown spread in the NFL. Cincinnati will win, but I believe Washington will cover its +7.5 NFL Week 3 spread.
