Houston Texans vs. New York Jets Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Houston Texans+2 (-110)+110Over 42 (-110)
New York Jets-2 (-110)-130Under 42 (-110)

Houston takes on New York in this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup. The Jets have lost five straight games, but they are 2-point favorites at home this week against the Texans (6-2). New York is desperate for a win, and Houston will be without its two best wide receivers.

Stefon Diggs tore his ACL and will join Nico Collins on the IR list. The Texans can still win this game despite missing Collins and Diggs. Tank Dell will have to shoulder the responsibility of being the WR1, but Houston’s rushing attack will be the key to their victory this week.

The Jets’ defense only allows 4.2 yards per carry, but they have allowed over 1,000 yards on the ground this year. They have also given up 10 rushing touchdowns in eight games. Joe Mixon has carried the Texans’ offense to wins already this season and he can do it again this week.

Texans vs. Jets NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Houston Texans +2 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Houston Texans (+110)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 42 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Dallas Cowboys+2.5 (+100)+125Over 52 (-105)
Atlanta Falcons-2.5 (-120)-145Under 52 (-115)

Atlanta is another home favorite in the Week 9 NFL odds at Bovada. The Falcons (5-3) are favored by 2.5 points against the visiting Cowboys (3-4). Dallas was undefeated on the road this season before losing to San Francisco last Sunday.

I think the Cowboys are in for another tough road loss this week. Dallas has allowed 4.8 YPC to opposing teams this season, tied for the sixth-most in the league this season. The Cowboys have also allowed 12 rushing touchdowns, second only to the Panthers (14) this season.

Atlanta has a great rushing attack with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. The Falcons’ passing attack is not too shabby either, and Kirk Cousins has the third-most passing yards (2,106) this season. Atlanta should win this game and cover the 2.5-point spread.

Cowboys vs. Falcons NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Atlanta Falcons -2.5 (-120)
  • Moneyline Bet: Atlanta Falcons (-145)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 52 (-115)

Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Denver Broncos+10 (-115)+335Over 44.5 (-115)
Baltimore Ravens-10 (-105)-450Under 44.5 (-105)

Two AFC playoff contenders face off this week when the Broncos (5-3) take on the Ravens (5-3) in Baltimore. The Ravens are 10-point favorites in the early NFL football odds for Week 9. Baltimore has been a double-digit favorite twice this season, against the Raiders and the Browns, and they lost both of those games outright.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens cannot afford another loss this week if they want to stay in the AFC North championship race. The offense will need to find a way to move the ball against a Broncos defense that has allowed the third-fewest yards per game (282.6) this season.

Bo Nix, a sleeper contender for Rookie of the Year, could also cause plenty of problems for the Ravens’ defense. Baltimore has allowed 291.4 pass yards per game, the most in the NFL. The Broncos should cover the 10-point spread, but I expect Baltimore to come out on top this week.

Broncos vs. Ravens NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Denver Broncos +10 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Baltimore Ravens (-450)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 44.5 (-115)

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Miami Dolphins+6.5 (-110)+225Over 49 (-105)
Buffalo Bills-6.5 (-110)-275Under 49 (-115)

Buffalo can effectively lock up the AFC East crown this weekend with a win over Miami. The Bills are favored by 6.5 points on Sunday against the Dolphins in Bovada’s latest NFL lines for Week 9.

Tua Tagovailoa returned to the lineup last week but could not lift the Dolphins to a home win over the Cardinals. Tagovailoa also struggled mightily when he faced the Bills in Week 2. Tua left that game in the third quarter with a concussion that caused him to miss Miami’s next four games.

Buffalo, on the other hand, has rolled over its last two opponents, beating the Titans and Seahawks by a combined score of 65-20. Josh Allen and company should continue their impressive play this week and secure the season sweep of Miami on Sunday.

Dolphins vs. Bills NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Buffalo Bills -6.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Buffalo Bills (-275)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 49 (-115)

New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
New Orleans Saints-7 (-110)-310Over 44 (-110)
Carolina Panthers+7 (-110)+255Under 44 (-110)

There is also an NFC South matchup this week, with the Panthers hosting the Saints on Sunday. New Orleans beat the Panthers 47-10 in the season opener this year. The Saints are 7-point road favorites in the early NFL spreads for Week 9.

New Orleans has lost six in a row after starting the season with two blowout wins. The good news for the Saints is that starting quarterback Derek Carr is expected to return this week. Carolina’s quarterback situation is up in the air, but it likely does not matter who is under center for the Panthers this week.

The Panthers are the perfect opponent for a Saints team that is desperate for a win. With Carr back in the lineup, I think the Saints will roll to a big win on Sunday and cover the 7-point spread.

Saints vs. Panthers NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: New Orleans Saints -7 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: New Orleans (-310)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 44 (-110)

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Cincinnati Bengals Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Las Vegas Raiders+7.5 (-115)+285Over 45.5 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals-7.5 (-105)-370Under 45.5 (-110)

Next on my list of NFL Week 9 best bets is the AFC matchup between the Raiders (2-6) and the Bengals (3-5). Both teams lost at home last weekend, and the Bengals are a 7.5-point favorite at home on Sunday. They need a win this week to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Las Vegas’s offense has been challenging to watch this season, averaging just 288.1 YPG, fifth-fewest, and 18 PPG, seventh-fewest. The Raiders should have an easier time moving the ball against Cincinnati, though, which has allowed 358.6 YPG this season, the ninth-most in the NFL.

Cincinnati has a clear talent advantage at quarterback and wide receiver in this matchup. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase should carry the Bengals to a home win this weekend. However, I do not trust Cincinnati’s defense to cover the 7.5-point spread.

Raiders vs. Bengals NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Las Vegas Raiders +7.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Cincinnati Bengals (-370)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 45.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Los Angeles Chargers-2 (-105)-130Over 41.5 (-110)
Cleveland Browns+2 (-115)+110Under 41.5 (-110)

Speaking of AFC West vs. AFC North matchups, the Chargers take on the Browns in Cleveland. Los Angeles beat the Saints last week to improve to 4-3, and Cleveland upset Baltimore for its second win of the season. The Chargers are 2-point road favorites in Bovada’s NFL Week 9 lines.

Both teams want to rely on their respective run games, so this should be a relatively quick game. The Browns looked markedly better with Jameis Winston at quarterback, but teams have struggled to score on the Chargers’ defense. Los Angeles only allows 13 PPG, the fewest in the NFL, and Cleveland’s offense has averaged just 17.3 PPG this year.

LA has also had its fair share of struggles on offense, averaging just 18.9 PPG this year. This game should be a low-scoring affair. That favors the Browns’ chances of covering the spread and gives them a great chance of winning this game outright.

Chargers vs. Browns NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Cleveland Browns +2 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Cleveland Browns (-110)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 41.5 (-110)

Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Washington Commanders-3.5 (-105)-180Over 43.5 (-105)
New York Giants+3.5 (-115)+155Under 43.5 (-115)

The Commanders need a win this week to stay in first place in the NFC East. They face the Giants (2-6), who are coming off a loss to the Steelers on Monday Night Football. The Commanders are 3.5-point road favorites in this matchup.

Washington could not score a touchdown in their first matchup against New York. The Commanders won 21-18 thanks to a 7-7 day from kicker Austin Seibert. Washington’s offense has improved significantly since then, and I think they will easily win this game.

The Giants are desperate but are also significantly handicapped with Daniel Jones as their quarterback. Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. was also injured in the team’s MNF loss to Pittsburgh. New York simply does not have the firepower to keep pace with Washington in this NFC East matchup.

Commanders vs. Giants NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Washington Commanders -3.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Washington Commanders (-180)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 43.5 (-105)

New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
New England Patriots+3 (+100)+145Over 38.5 (-110)
Tennessee Titans-3 (-120)-170Under 38.5 (-110)

The Patriots upset the Jets in Week 8, essentially ending New York’s season before Halloween. New England has another chance for an upset this week. Bovada has the Patriots listed as 3-point road underdogs against the Titans in its NFL Week 9 projections.

New England (2-6) and Tennessee (1-6) have been two of the worst teams in the league this season. Both teams are bad, but I think the Patriots are the better squad if Drake Maye can play. The Titans lost to the Lions 52-14 last week, and the Lions did not score in the fourth quarter.

Maye exited New England’s win last week with a concussion. If he can clear protocol for this week’s game, the Patriots should easily beat the Titans. With Maye’s availability in question, I suggest hedging by taking New England to cover but Tennessee to win at home this week.

Patriots vs. Titans NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: New England Patriots +3 (+100)
  • Moneyline Bet: Tennessee Titans (-170)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 38.5 (-110)

Chicago Bears vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Chicago Bears+1 (-115)-105Over 44 (-110)
Arizona Cardinals-1 (-105)-115Under 44 (-110)

Chicago lost last week to Washington on a game-winning Hail Mary. The Bears will have to put the shocking loss behind them as they are on the road again this week against the Cardinals. Arizona is a 1-point favorite at home in the early NFL Week 9 spreads.

The Cardinals upset the Dolphins last week, winning back-to-back games with Kyler Murray at quarterback for the first time since the middle of the 2021 season. I picked Arizona to secure the upset last week, but I do not think they will win a third straight game this week.

Chicago’s defense has allowed only 17 PPG this year, the fourth-fewest in the NFL. Arizona, by contrast, has allowed 25.6 PPG and the Cardinals have allowed 376.5 YPG. The spread for this game is only one point, so the best value is to wager on the Bears to win outright.

Bears vs. Cardinals NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Chicago Bears +1 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Chicago Bears (-105)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 44 (-110)

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Jacksonville Jaguars+7.5 (-115)+280Over 45.5 (-115)
Philadelphia Eagles-7.5 (-105)-360Under 45.5 (-105)

Jacksonville (2-6) has been one of the most disappointing teams this season, and coach Doug Pederson could be fired before the season ends. The Jaguars are 7.5-point underdogs on the road in the latest NFL betting lines for Week 9. Pederson won Super Bowl 52 as the coach of the Eagles, and this will be his second game against this former team.

Philadelphia has won three straight games, including a dominant 37-17 win in Cincinnati last week. Jacksonville’s pass defense allows 8.1 yards per attempt, tied for second-most in the league. Considering that, I expect a big game from Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and the rest of Philly’s offense.

Philadelphia’s passing attack will need to succeed on Sunday. Jacksonville allows just 4.2 yards per carry, tied for the sixth-fewest in the league. I trust Hurts and company to get the job done, and the Eagles will cover the spread at home this week.

Jaguars vs. Eagles NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Philadelphia Eagles -7.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Philadelphia Eagles (-360)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 45.5 (-115)

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Detroit Lions-3.5 (+100)-180Over 47.5 (-110)
Green Bay Packers+3.5 (-120)+155Under 47.5 (-110)

The top two teams in the NFC North division face off this week as the Packers (6-2) welcome the Lions (6-1) to Green Bay. Despite being the home team, the Packers are 3.5-point underdogs in the NFL odds for Week 9, 2024.

Detroit has scored 42+ points in three of its last four games, and the Lions have won five straight games. Green Bay, on the other hand, could be without its starting quarterback, Jordan Love, who is dealing with a groin strain.

Even with Love in the lineup, this will be a tough matchup for the Packers. Love has struggled lately, and the Lions’ defense has played lights out, even without Aidan Hutchinson. I think the Lions will win this game, but divisional blowouts are uncommon, and Green Bay will cover the spread on Sunday.

Lions vs. Packers NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Green Bay +3.5 (-120)
  • Moneyline Bet: Detroit Lions (-180)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 47.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Los Angeles Rams-1.5 (-110)-120Over 48.5 (-110)
Seattle Seahawks+1.5 (-110)+100Under 48.5 (-110)

Another divisional game on this week’s schedule is the NFC West showdown between the Rams and the Seahawks. Three of the four teams in the division are 4-4, and LA is the odd man out at 3-4. A win over Seattle would put the Rams in striking distance for the divisional crown.

Top offshore betting sites have the Rams as 1.5-point favorites in their NFL lines for Week 9, 2024. Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua returned for the Rams last week, and their offense moved the ball at will against Minnesota. Kupp and Nacua should be healthier this week, which is bad news for Seattle.

The Seahawks have been one of the least consistent teams in the league, making them a risky bet even at home. LA is the safer pick to cover and, given how small the spread is, I think the Rams will cover.

Rams vs. Seahawks NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Los Angeles Rams -1.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Los Angeles Rams (-120)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 48.5 (-110)

Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Indianapolis Colts+5.5 (-110)+205Over 46.5 (-105)
Minnesota Vikings-5.5 (-110)-245Under 46.5 (-115)

Minnesota was 5-0 and the top team in the NFC North. Back-to-back losses have knocked the Vikings down to third in the division, putting Minnesota in danger of missing the playoffs. They must put its struggles behind them with the Colts coming to town on Sunday Night Football.

The Colts are 6-point underdogs on the road in Bovada’s NFL spreads for Week 9, 2024. Indianapolis had just 303 total yards in its 23-20 loss to the Texans last week. Indianapolis also announced it will bench Anthony Richardson, and Joe Flacco will start instead.

Minnesota’s defense has been one of the best units in the league, but they will be tested at home this week. Indy averages 128 rushing yards per game, while the Vikings allow just 83.9 yards on the ground. Ultimately, I think the Vikings will win this game, but I expect the Colts to cover the 6-point spread.

Colts vs. Vikings NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Indianapolis Colts +5.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Minnesota Vikings (-245)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 46.5 (-105)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Odds and Best Bets

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Tampa Bay Buccaneers+8.5 (-110)+310Over 45 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs-8.5 (-110)-415Under 45 (-110)

This week’s schedule concludes with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Buccaneers and the Chiefs. Kansas City is the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL this season. The Chiefs are favored by 8.5 points at home in the latest NFL spreads for Week 9, 2024.

Tampa Bay fought admirably without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin last week. However, despite Baker Mayfield’s best efforts, the Buccaneers lost 31-26 to the Falcons. Tampa Bay should lose a third straight game this week against the Chiefs.

Kansas City’s defense will smother the Bucs’ offense in this MNF matchup. Tampa Bay’s defense has also struggled this season, so even an underperforming Chiefs’ offense should be able to score at will. Kansas City wins and covers the 8.5-point spread this week.

Buccaneers vs. Chiefs NFL Week 9 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Kansas City Chiefs -8.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-415)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 45 (-110)
