NHL Trade Deadline 2025 Key Info

The NHL Trade Deadline is set for Friday, March 7. Trades must be forwarded to the league office by 3:00 p.m. ET. If the league isn’t informed of the trade by then, it will be disregarded and not processed. Representatives from both teams are required to complete a phone call. Before deals are finalized, the NHL’s Central Registry in Montreal must verify the details and rubber stamp the trade. The Central Registry is primarily responsible for reviewing the paperwork and ensuring salary caps are corroborated.

Brad Marchand NHL Trade Deadline Odds and Pick

TEAMODDS
Boston Bruins-500
Edmonton Oilers+650
LA Kings+700
Vegas Golden Knights+700
New Jersey Devils+950
Tampa Bay Lightning+950
The Boston Bruins are not expected to trade him at the deadline. Marchand has been adamant about wanting to remain with the Bruins — a place he’s called home since 2009. The odds overwhelmingly favor Marchand staying at -500, or an 83.3% chance. The 36-year-old Halifax, NS, native has been with the Bruins for all 16 years of his NHL career. Marchand claims he is already playing for a contender, so being moved to another destination isn’t necessary to compete for the Stanley Cup. He has been a fixture of the Bruins organization, and helped lead the team to a Cup in 2011. It’s highly unlikely that the front office will go against his wishes. Moreover, Marchand is currently dealing with an upper-body injury. It isn’t serious, and Marchand is officially listed as week-to-week. However, it’s enough to make potential suitors pause on working out a deal for Marchand. If him asking the front office to stay put isn’t enough, then the injury will keep teams away. Although there’s little value at -500 odds, Marchand isn’t going anywhere, so consider including him in a parlay at NHL betting sites!

Brandon Tanev NHL Trade Deadline Odds and Pick

TEAMODDS
Seattle Kraken+115
Ottawa Senators+300
Toronto Maple Leafs+400
Vegas Golden Knights+400
Columbus Blue Jackets+950
Washington Capitals+950
New York Rangers+950
According to the latest 2025 NHL Trade Deadline odds, Brandon Tanev isn’t expected to be moved by Friday. However, the updated price doesn’t evoke the most confidence in him staying with the Seattle Kraken. At +115, Tanev has a 46.5% implied probability of being dealt prior to the deadline. I believe there is a good chance of the 33-year-old Toronto native being traded. The Kraken are 26-32-4 and well out of the playoff picture. Acquiring assets for Tanev from a contender appears like the proper route to take. He would like to play for a team with a chance to win the Stanley Cup, which leads me to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Golden Knights.Although Maple Leafs’ GM Brad Treliving will likely inquire about Tanev with the Kraken, this has a Golden Knights deal all over it.  He’s an interesting character who would instantly fit in Las Vegas. Tanev is one of the most realistic options for Vegas at the deadline, and a player who would provide solid depth at left wing. The 2023 NHL champs lead the Pacific Division at 36-18-6 and are confident that they’re in for another deep playoff run. Tanev would be a solid addition to a Knights squad wishing to put the finishing touches on an already well-built roster. In short, Tanev to the Golden Knights is a fantastic option at +400 odds!

Brock Boeser NHL Trade Deadline Odds and Pick

Vancouver Canucks-190
Minnesota Wild+250
Florida Panthers+400
LA Kings+500
Utah Hockey Club+950
If the Vancouver Canucks aren’t confident in signing Brock Boeser to an extension, now would be the best time to send him elsewhere. If they don’t trade Boeser, there is a good chance he walks for nothing in the offseason. Nevertheless, the Canucks are favored to retain Boeser and not trade him. At -190 odds, Boeser has a 65.5% implied probability of remaining with the Canucks after the deadline. With a record of 27-22-11, the Canucks are in the midst of a playoff battle. That said, realistically, the Canucks aren’t a true contender for the Stanley Cup. In any event, I don’t expect the Canucks to find a deal that they’ll fall in love with, so are likely to keep Boeser and hope for the best for the playoffs.Boeser is in a slump recently, and the Canucks are probably going to be disappointed with their offers. The Minnesota Wild will have a chance to ink Boeser without giving up assets in the offseason anyway. In other words, Boeser is unlikely to go anywhere yet. For your NHL Trade Deadline 2025 prop bets, consider Boeser to stay in Vancouver!

Mikko Rantanen NHL Trade Deadline Odds and Pick

TEAMODDS
Carolina Hurricanes-300
Toronto Maple Leafs+250
Vancouver Canucks+600
Vegas Golden Knights+1000
Chicago Blackhawks+1000
Dallas Stars+1100
Could Mikko Rantanen be on the move again? After the Colorado Avalanche traded Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 24, there are rumors that he is being shopped. The Hurricanes are a 36-22-4 team and very much in the mix for the Stanley Cup. They sent Martin Necas to Colorado as part of the deal, so it would seem a bit outlandish for the Hurricanes to say goodbye to Rantanen already, right?Well, Rantanen has not been a good fit for the Hurricanes. It’s abundantly clear that he benefited greatly from playing with Nathan MacKinnon. He was never thrilled with the trade to begin with, as well. Rantanen appeared to feel blindsided by the news and wished to remain in Denver. So, what we have is a player who isn’t particularly happy, and chemistry hasn’t developed with Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho! There is speculation that the Hurricanes may cut their losses and trade Rantanen less than two months after acquiring him. His contract expires at the end of this season, but I expect the Hurricanes to hold onto him and give him more time to gel on the top line. Playing with team chemistry again could do the Hurricanes more bad than good. I don’t believe they’re ready to admit their mistake, but more importantly, the front office may not be thrilled with their return on a trade. I’m not a huge fan of laying -300 odds, though Rantanen most likely stays!
