Serbia (+175) is a slight favorite to win the men’s Olympic 3×3 gold medal. The Serbs have a 36.4% implied chance to capture gold in Paris. This doesn’t afford them much of an advantage over the Americans, though.

Currently, the USA (+200) has an implied chance to win gold of 33.3%! This means there is less than a 3% difference between Serbia and the USA’s 3×3 men’s Olympic basketball odds.

The hometown team from France (+450) has a reasonable chance to win gold. As the squad with the third-best price, France has an 18.2% implied probability in the men’s 3×3 Olympic tournament.

Favorites for Paris 2024 Men’s 3×3 Basketball

Serbia and USA are expected to be the final two teams standing. Additionally, France could make some noise on the home court. Let’s see what the favorites have to offer.

Serbia (+175)

For roughly a decade, the Serbia men’s national 3×3 squad has been a powerhouse on the major tournament circuit. Backed by plenty of support in the country, 3×3 basketball is a well-respected sport that has produced stars in the NBA and the 3-on-3 game.

Serbia is bringing a standout squad with them to Paris 2024. Team Serbia recently announced that Dejan Majstorovic, Marko Brankovic, Mihailo Vasic, and Strahinja Stojacic are teaming up for another run at a major title.

This is the same Serbian squad that has won the previous two 3×3 basketball World Cup championships in 2022 and 2023. Serbia fell short at Tokyo 2020 with a bronze medal, but Stojacic is on this roster.

That’s the No. 1 rated player in 3×3 basketball. Additionally, Stojacic won the MVP award for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2023. He can take this tournament over on his own accord!

The USA will be a tough opponent, but Serbia is the clear team to beat in 3×3 basketball at Paris 2024!

USA (+200)

American basketball fans will be familiar with one of the stars of the 3×3 basketball squad. Former BYU Cougars star Jimmer Fredette transitioned from an NBA career to 3×3 basketball.

The 35-year-old native of Glens Falls, New York, most recently played with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA in 2018-19. After failing to catch on afterward, Fredette focused on a 3×3 basketball career. As a mid-range and three-point shooter, his game is perfect for the 3×3 game.

Team USA did not send a 3×3 basketball team to Tokyo 2020, so this will be Fredette and his teammates’ first trip to the Olympic Games. The American squad also features Dylan Travis, Canyon Barry, and Kareem Maddox.

In 2022, the foursome won the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup in their first tournament together. However, they were unable to upset Serbia at the 2023 World Cup.

The Serbs recovered from a 19-15 deficit for a 21-19 victory in Vienna. Currently, the US squad ranks No. 2 in the 3×3 basketball rankings behind Serbia.

France (+450)

The French 3×3 national team is a step behind Serbia and USA, but they are the most likely squad to pull off an upset, according to sports betting sites. France compiled an experienced team, with three players returning who were part of the Olympic Qualification roster.

Franck Seguela, Timothee Vergiat, and Jules Rambaut are back for France after ousting Mongolia to capture a spot in Paris. Lucas Dussoulier, who was on the 2023 Europe Cup roster, will join the impressive trio in the search for a gold medal.

France finished fourth in that Europe Cup. It is an improvement from their eighth-place finish in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup, but they’d like to see stronger results. Although France’s squad won gold at the 2022 Mediterranean Games, they didn’t have to play Serbia and the USA.

Despite playing on home soil, France will need to catch breaks along the way to win the gold medal. Regarding pure talent, Serbia and the Americans are well ahead of France. Nevertheless, hometown support from the French crowd could push them further than expected!

Top Men’s 3×3 Basketball Sleepers for Paris 2024

Let’s continue our 2024 Olympic 3×3 basketball predictions with an analysis of the top sleepers at Bovada. Per the latest odds, two nations are worth considering backing for the upset! Check out my top dark horse Olympic 3×3 basketball picks:

  1. The Netherlands isn’t a stranger to 3×3 basketball. They won a silver medal at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in 2017 and 2018. Additionally, the Dutch side made an appearance at Tokyo 2020, with a respectable fifth-place finish.

At 2022 Graz in the European Championship, the Netherlands had a strong showing to win the bronze medal. It was their second medal at the Euros since 2016. Led by 36-year-old Worthy de Jong, the Netherlands should be much improved from those teams.

De Jong was a force in the Olympics Qualifying Tournament in Japan. He was the leading scorer in the event with 42 points! De Jong and his teammates have played together over the last two years, so there should be chemistry. At +800, the Netherlands’ Paris 2024 3×3 men’s basketball odds are worth considering!

  2. Lithuania will make its first appearance in 3×3 basketball at Paris 2024. They are coming off an impressive showing at the Hungary Qualifying Tournament to dispatch to earn a berth to Paris.

For an experienced side featuring four players who have played in big events in the past, this stage shouldn’t be too large for them. In the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, Lithuania exceeded expectations to go 6-1 and finish with the silver medal in their possession!

If they can find some of that same magic, Lithuania is going to play a massive factor at Paris 2024. The nation isn’t expected to win many Olympic medals, but they could capture a surprise title in 3×3 men’s basketball.

Olympic 3×3 Basketball Men’s Prediction and Betting Pick

The tournament will most likely come down to Serbia and the USA, so focus your 2024 Olympic 3×3 men’s basketball predictions on these two squads. Of course, one of the sleeper teams could surprise, but the main contenders would have to be well off their top form.

With this in mind, Serbia is the right choice as the betting favorite to win gold. If you remove Stojacic from the equation, the USA and Serbia are relatively evenly matched squads. However, the 3×3 superstar is healthy and in his best form entering Paris 2024.

The 31-year-old Novi Sad native will be the difference in the men’s 3×3 tournament. Back the No. 1 player and No. 1 team in the world to strike gold! They should be +115 to +105 favorite, so there is top betting value on the Serbs at +175.
