World No. 1 Judd Trump (+350) is favored to win the 2025 Snooker World Championship. After winning the UK Championship earlier this season, Trump can add his sixth Triple Crown trophy to his mantle with a win at the Crucible.

Currently, at +350, Trump holds a 22.2% implied probability to win the title this year at snooker betting sites. Snooker Hall of Famer Ronnie O’Sullivan (+500) follows with the second-best odds and a 16.7% implied chance of winning his 24th Triple Crown title!

Kyren Wilson (+650) rounds out the top 3 favorites, with a 13.3% implied probability of winning the World Snooker Championship. Wilson already has one Triple Crown title this year — can he add another?

World Snooker Championship 2025 Betting Favorites

Three players have established themselves as the favorites to win this year. Before delving into my World Snooker Championship picks, let’s analyze these favorites:

Judd Trump (+350)

Unsurprisingly, Trump has the leading odds for the World Snooker Championship 2025. He is currently ranked at the top of the world rankings, but is there any value on Trump at +350 odds?

Trump has reached the finals of three World Snooker Championships in his career. He finished as the runner-up in 2011 and 2022 but captured the 2019 title over O’Sullivan.

The 2024-25 season has been strong for Trump. The 35-year-old native of Bristol is the 2024 UK Championship winner and triumphed at the 2024 Shanghai Masters. He also became the record-holder for most prize money won in a single season!

Nevertheless, Trump has been held out of the winner’s circle since capturing the UK Championship on Dec. 1. In search of back-to-back Triple Crowns, Trump came up short in the 2025 Masters in the semifinals versus Kyren Wilson. Additionally, the same opponent edged out Trump in the 2025 Players Championship for the title in March.

In his latest tournament, Trump was in disappointing form and fell in the 2025 Tour Championship to Barry Hawkins in the quarterfinals. He has the obvious talent to win, but his consistency has been questionable this season.

Ronnie O’Sullivan (+500)

“The Rocket” is the largest question mark heading into the World Snooker Championship. The seven-time world champion hasn’t been in his best form this season and recently wasn’t feeling his best.

O’Sullivan was battling an illness at the Masters in January and was seen coughing during a match. This was three months after O’Sullivan pulled out of the Northern Ireland Open due to undisclosed medical reasons.

Health concerns are well-documented throughout O’Sullivan’s career, including his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction and bouts of depression. There is no evidence that the 49-year-old is suffering from any personal demons currently, though he is still undecided about playing at the Crucible.

If you forget about the potential health issues and just look at his form, O’Sullivan isn’t worth a bet at +500 odds! Following a wildly successful 2023-24 campaign, which included four tournament wins, including the UK Championship and Masters, O’Sullivan hasn’t had a tournament title in 2024-25.

O’Sullivan’s World Snooker Championship odds to win are the second shortest simply because of his status as one of the best snooker players of all time. However, there is no value on a player who isn’t mentally or physically prepared at the moment.

Kyren Wilson (+650)

It’s been a year to remember for the Englishman from Kettering! It was roughly a year ago that Wilson captured the World Snooker Championship title at the Crucible Theatre. That was the only win in 2023-24, but Wilson saved the best for last!

Since then, Wilson has won four tournaments this season. That includes a big score at the 2025 Tour Championship over Trump. The 33-year-old is a winner in four of his previous five matches, with a nosebleed the only thing slowing him down as of late.

Wilson’s match versus Ding Junhui was paused twice due to the bleeding nose. There were concerns that he had a more serious ailment, but he has since reported that he’s fine and his poor form was due to exhaustion. Wilson’s 10-5 loss was uncharacteristic for him, though I believe the nose-bleed distraction impacted it significantly.

Look for Wilson to respond positively to the mishap in the quarterfinals of the Tour Championship and put himself back in a position to win the world title. With O’Sullivan in questionable shape right now, Wilson should have the second-best odds to win the World Snooker Championship!

Best World Snooker Championship 2025 Sleepers

The door is wide open for any of the world’s best snooker players to win the Snooker World Championship in 2025! With this in mind, consider betting on a couple of longshots for your World Snooker Championship 2025 betting picks:

  1. 1. John Higgins (+1600)

Given John Higgins’ recent form, it’s hard not to look at him to win the World Snooker Championship at +1600. Higgins is on the heels of a huge win in the Tour Championship over Mark Selby!

The 49-year-old Scottish vet ranks third on the all-time list of tournament titles with 33. He may have played his very best snooker recently, which included victories over Selby and Barry Hawkins.

Higgins has won four World Championship crowns, with his most recent title in 2011. He went to the quarterfinals and semifinals in three straight years heading into this year’s tournament. In top form and confident right now, Higgins is worth a small play at +1600.

  2. 2. Ding Junhui (+2200)

Three-time UK Championships winner Ding Junhui heads into the World Snooker Championship aiming for his 16th major World Snooker Tour title. Ding might need a couple of the top favorites to crash hard, but he might be the first one there to pick up the pieces if it happens.

Despite getting blasted in a 10-2 loss to Selby in the 2025 Tour Championship semifinal, Ding has some notable wins on his resume as of late. The quarterfinal win over Wilson stands out, as does a blowout over Mark Williams in a 10-3 victory.

Although the odds are stacked against Ding, he can surprise if things go his way. In other words, the veteran offers some value for your World Snooker Championship picks at +2220!

World Snooker Championship 2025 Predictions and Betting Pick

The Crucible should feature an incredibly competitive high-stakes tournament in 2025! I also believe we’re getting fantastic value on one player in particular. While Trump has the shortest odds, he isn’t on my radar for top World Snooker Championship pick.

Instead, the defending champion at +650 is the best bet on the board! Along with Trump not being a great wager at +350, O’Sullivan’s status is up in the air, and he isn’t playing his best snooker anyway. That leaves a massive opportunity for Wilson to defend his title and win another World Snooker Championship in 2025!

Consider backing Wilson to win it all at these fantastic odds for your 2025 World Snooker Championship prediction!
