The latest Survivor Season 48 odds reveal a huge shake-up in the betting markets! Following Episode 5 of Survivor 48, Kyle Fraser (+180) has skyrocketed to the top of the board at BetOnline.
As of March 27, Kyle moved from +1400 to +180 odds to win Survivor! That’s a meteoric rise from a 6.7% to 35.7% implied probability of winning this season. Kyle has gone from nearly getting voted off, with only a hidden immunity idol to save him, to the most likely winner at +180.
Meanwhile, Joe Hunter (+500), the favorite since Episode 2, has fallen from +220 to +500. Joe’s implied chance of winning has regressed from 31.3% to 16.7% in just one week! Shauhin Davari (+350) slipped to +350 from +250 from last week to today. In short, Shauhin’s odds to win Survivor dipped from 28.6% to 22.2%.

Survivor 48 Predictions and Betting Pick After Episode 5
We had an unpredictable and emotional ride this past week on Survivor 48! In the immunity challenge, the Vula Tribe cruised to a relatively easy victory on the beach. Led by Joe and Kyle, there wasn’t much of a threat from Lagi and Civa in the game.
However, Lagi and Civa had to battle to the end in a topsy-turvy table competition. For the final stage of the competition, castaways were tasked with balancing a ball down the table into a hole. Eva Erickson was the final player required to complete the task for the Lagi Tribe.
Eva tried several times, but failed multiple times to finish the job. Finally, Eva got the ball home, and Civa couldn’t complete the comeback. As she explained to Joe earlier this season, she is diagnosed with autism and can go through episodes in stressful situations.
This was one of those moments. Host Jeff Probst allowed Eva’s former tribemate to help console her after the end of the game. There are two ways to read this situation. First, huge points for Joe being a considerate person to be there for a friend.
Second, however, the entire island now knows that Joe and Eva had a secret alliance. They were likely planning on keeping it a secret for the merger, but that strategy is gone now. The “California Girls” alliance between Joe, Thomas, and Shauhin died last week when Thomas was voted out.
So, suddenly, Joe, who was on top of the world in Fiji, is exposed slightly. Nevertheless, the way I see it, Joe’s compassion for Eva is the biggest takeaway from everything. He’s a guy you want to root for, and despite his Survivor winner odds falling, I’m still on board with him at +500.
Although his alliance with Eva isn’t a secret anymore, he scored big points as a good person in the eyes of his competitors. This could very well pay off when it comes to winning the game in the future at tribal council.
For my preseason Survivor 48 pick, I backed Joe at +1000. I’ll continue riding with him to win Survivor following the fifth week of season 48.
Survivor 48 Tribes and Contestants
Survivor 48 consists of the Civa, Lagi, and Vula Tribe. Now, let’s learn more about the three tribes and castaways on each side.
But, first, when does Survivor start? On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Survivor 48 debuts at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
Lagi Tribe
Lagi features a few contenders that could win the game in Fiji. According to the latest 2025 Survivor betting odds at BetUS, Star Toomey, Thomas Krottinger, and Hunter should be in the mix.
Lagi Tribe Members:
- Bianca Roses, 33, strategic PR consultant (Arlington, VA)
- Eva Erickson, 24, engineering grad student (Providence, RI)
- Joe Hunter, 45, fire captain (Sacramento, CA)
- Shauhin Davari, 38, debate professor (Costa Mesa, CA)
- Star Toomey, 28, sales (Augusta, GA)
- Thomas Krottinger, 34, music producer (Los Angeles, CA)
Civa Tribe
Guerra is on Civa, so they have the pre-game betting favorite to win Survivor 48! Whether this results in winning the game remains to be seen, but Guerra should be a weapon for the Civa Tribe. Kimma Karthigesu is also worth watching out for this season.
Civa Tribe Members:
- Charity Nelms, 34, flight attendant (St. Petersburg, FL)
- Chrissy Sarnowsky, 55, firefighter (Chicago, IL)
- David Kinne, 39, stunt artist (Buena Park, CA)
- Kamilla Karthigesu, 31, discord engineer (San Francisco, CA)
- Kyle Fraser, 31, attorney (Brooklyn, NY)
- Mitch Guerra, 34, teacher (Waco, TX)
Vula Tribe
Berger is expected to be the powerhouse of the Vula Tribe. With the second-shortest odds to win Survivor 48, the betting markets are expecting positives from her. Additionally, Saiounia Hughley, Kevin Leung, and Mary Zheng are among the favorites, so this should be a formidable tribe.
Vula Tribe Members:
- Cedrek McFadden, 45, surgeon (Greenville, SC)
- Justin Pioppi, 29, restaurant manager (Winthrop, MA)
- Kevin Leung, 34, finance manager (Livermore, CA)
- Mary Zheng, 31, substance abuse counselor (Philadelphia, PA)
- Saiounia Hughley, 30, marketing specialist (Simi Valley, CA)
- Stephanie Berger, 38, tech product specialist (Brooklyn, NY)
