There are a total of 29 categories at The Game Awards, but many are too difficult for entertainment betting sites to release odds on this year.

That being said, some of these bets at BetUS have a plethora of solid value to digest. Below, I highlight my top The Game Award 2024 predictions and four picks with the best prices on the board.

You can bet on the Game Awards odds at BetUS by navigating to Sportsbook > Entertainment > Awards Futures > The Game Awards.

Game of the Year Prediction: Astro Bot (+200)

GAMEODDS
Black Myth: Wukong-300
Astro Bot+200
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth+500
Balatoro+500
Eden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree+800

Black Myth: Wukong is heavily favored to win the 2024 Game Awards honors for Game of the Year. As a -300 favorite, Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong has a 75% implied probability of winning Game of the Year. However, I don’t see any betting value in this selection.

Per Metacritic, Black Myth: Wukong has a Metascore of 81, which equates to being generally favorable. That is a fine rating, but it’s incredibly low for a Game of the Year candidate. Despite being favored, it has the lowest score of all time for a nominee.

The best bet here is on Team Asobi’s Astro Bot. The addictive, fun platform game has made waves as a surprise contender this year. There haven’t been many captivating platform video games released over the last two decades.

LittleBigPlanet comes to mind, but that was released in 2008. This PlayStation exclusive deserves similar treatment, and public reception has been overwhelmingly positive. Astro Bot owns a 94 critically acclaimed Metascore on Metacritic.

Will The Game Awards voters follow suit to give Astro Bot a win? It’s hard to ignore this value bet at +200, so consider Astro Bot for your 2024 Game of the Year predictions!

Mobile Game of the Year Prediction: Balatro (-165)

GAMEODDS
Balatro-165
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket+250
Wuthering Waves+400
Zenless Zone Zero+450
AFK Journey+450

Balatro is nominated for Game of the Year and Mobile Game of the Year in 2024. Currently, Balatro has a 62.3% implied chance of winning Mobile Game of the Year. The odds are stacked against Balatro for Game of the Year, but I think this is a generous price at -165.

The unique card game is the perfect option for a mobile platform. It’s one of my favorite games to pick up and play out of my pocket. The solitaire and poker-based gameplay is highly addictive for beginners and experts alike.

While it’s simple to get involved right away, mastering Balatro takes some expertise. Others agree that Balatro is a hard game to put down.

The action is fast and furious, and most of all, addictive. Developer LocalThunk has a major winner on their hands with Balatro, which is getting Game of the Year hype.

I don’t anticipate Balatro winning Game of the Year, but it should make a strong push for Mobile Game of the Year honors. Balatro should be closer to a -275 favorite, so I like the odds here at -165!

Sim/Strategy Game of the Year: Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (+250)

GAMEODDS
Age of Mythology: Retold-110
Frostpunk 2+200
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess+250
Unicorn Overlord+350
Manor Lords+400

The Strategy Game of the Year category should be one of the most competitive at The Game Awards this year. Age of Mythology, which has been a long-standing strategy series since 2002, returns with another Game Awards contender in 2024.

However, the best play for the price has to be on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. While the gameplay is a unique take that differs widely from Age of Mythology: Retold, this engaging Capcom single-player strategy game is a must-try for video game enthusiasts.

Regardless if you are the biggest strategy fan or not, the design and storyline of the game are captivating. The color and vibrancy of this title draw people in, but the uniqueness of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess keeps players around for the long haul.

Age of Mythology: Retold is a quality game, but the franchise is living on its name. For a polished, unique, and well-reviewed game, the Game Awards judges have to give this Capcom gem serious consideration.

At +250, The Game Awards odds look right on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess for your best bets!

Esports Team of the Year: T1 (-300)

TEAMODDS
T1 – League of Legends-300
Team Liquid – Dota 2+300
Gen.G – League of Legends+400
Bilibili Gaming – League of Legends+400
Navi – Counter Strike+550

After back-to-back League of Legends World Championships, South Korea’s T1 is the clear favorite to win Esports of the Team at the 2024 awards show! T1 recently defeated Bilibili Gaming in a thrilling 3-2 final at the O2 Arena in London.

The League of Legends team has officially cemented themselves as a dynasty in Esports gaming. With record five world titles in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2023, and 2024, T1 has everything well-sorted out. Despite failing to conquer MSI this year, they have two championships to their name.

Zeus, Keria, Oner, Faker, and Gumayusi should be the team to beat for Esports Team of the Year. As long as politics don’t get in the way of the voting process, the Korean side should bring home the award without much resistance.

I don’t want to call it recency bias because T1 has been great for so long, but the recent World Championship will be fresh in the minds of judges. Furthermore, T1 didn’t enter the Worlds as a favorite, which makes the title even more special.

While -300 odds don’t hold the best value on the board, I see them as a -500 to -600 favorite, so there is a window here to back T1!
