Three Sleeper NFL Teams That Could Win Super Bowl 57

NFL Superbowl Sleepers

The playoffs in the NFL are quickly approaching with six games on Wild Card Weekend. It is time to start thinking about who is going to win Super Bowl 57 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Are there any Super Bowl sleeper teams that are worth betting on this year?

We are looking at Super Bowl sleeper teams that provide the best value picks for the championship game in the NFL. This is for NFL bettors that are not interested in betting on the favorites. The sleepers offer bigger and better payouts for winning the Super Bowl.

There is not much value left in betting on the Super Bowl favorites now. However, there could be some diamonds in the rough that most bettors are ignoring. This is why we call them Super Bowl sleeper teams.

TheSportsGeek is examining three sleeper teams to win the Super Bowl in 2023. These are for sports bettors that are not interested in taking the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs. If you already have bet a favorite to win the Super Bowl, there are no issues with adding a long shot to win Super Bowl 57, too.

The Chiefs are the favorites to win Super Bowl 57. They are currently +325 to win the Super Bowl in Arizona. According to the Super Bowl 57 odds, the Bills are the next likeliest winner at +400. The Eagles round out the top-3 Super Bowl favorites at +550.

Are the Eagles not getting enough respect? That is not what we are trying to answer today, but that is a good team that might be worth considering at +550. That said, the Eagles can’t be considered with the Super Bowl sleeper teams after a 14-3 season.

We are going for much bigger odds than +550. If any of these three teams make it far enough, there should be a good opportunity to hedge and lock in a profit if you wish to do so. Head below for our best Super Bowl sleeper teams for Super Bowl 57.

Sleeper Teams To Win The Super Bowl

The Eagles are the latest sleeper team to win the Super Bowl. They were underdogs in every game during their Super Bowl LII run in the 2018 playoffs. The Patriots, Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Rams have won the Super Bowl since the Eagles. Those were not exactly sleeper Super Bowl wins.

Are there any Super Bowl sleeper teams that you like? Let’s see if you agree with any of our long shots to win Super Bowl 57.

Los Angeles Chargers (+2500)

The Chargers have one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in their corner. Justin Herbert was unable to surpass 5,000 yards like last season — or throw for more than 30 touchdowns for the third straight season — but he and Keenan Allen can take a game over.

In two games against the Chiefs, Herbert stepped up with a total of 614 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He had three 3-touchdown games this season. While his numbers are down from last season, Herbert can get hot in a hurry.

The Chargers finished third in the league with a total of 269.6 passing yards per game. Overall, they are ninth with 359.3 yards accumulated in the regular season. Like the Buccaneers, the Chargers have suffered from a lack of a run game.

Having a capable quarterback and defense are the most important elements of having success in the playoffs. The Chargers are going to come across quarterbacks in the playoffs, beginning with Trevor Lawrence, but have a good secondary to counter with.

This unit was seventh in the regular season with 200.4 passing yards allowed per game. In their previous four meaningful games, the Chargers allowed an impressive average of 11 points against. The 31-28 loss to the Broncos in the season finale had no impact on the playoffs.

The Chargers were a mediocre 10-7 in the regular season, but could have easily been 11-6 if their trip to Denver was significant. Consider a Super Bowl sleeper pick on the Chargers at +2500 to win on February 12.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2800)

Tom Brady on a Super Bowl sleeper list? That is not something you see every year. This is a rare season where Brady is considered a long shot in the playoffs.

In his first season in Tampa, Brady won the Super Bowl two years ago. He had something to prove and fulfilled his goals. There is absolutely nothing left for Brady to prove in his career — but in a playoff where the Buccaneers are not getting respect — are they still dangerous?

After an 8-9 campaign, there is a clear reason why the Buccaneers are +2800 to win Super Bowl 57. They were unable to play consistent football from week to week. However, every team in the NFL starts at 0-0 going into Wild Card Weekend.

Brady passed for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions on 66.8% completions. Despite a season where the offense looked out of sync at times, Brady still had a decent regular season statistically. He needed a running game to help him out.

The Buccaneers are second in the NFL in passing yards per game. The eyeball test suggested otherwise, but they had 269.8 passing yards per game. It was a lack of a running game that prevented the offense from taking off to the next level.

Defense matters in the playoffs. The Buccaneers held up pretty well on defense. They were a top-10 defense in the regular season, with 324.3 yards allowed per game.

The secondary is a strength for the Buccaneers going into Wild Card Weekend. With 203.6 passing yards allowed per game, this is a top-10 secondary that Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have to play on the road.

Because the Buccaneers won the NFC South, they are hosting the Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium in the Wild Card. That certainly helps. If the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys, +2800 will be long gone off the board.

This may not be the best team that Brady has been on. However, betting on him and the Buccaneers to get hot in January at +2800 is good value. The talent is there for the Buccaneers; they just have to put it all together now.

New York Giants (+6500)

The New York Giants are one of the biggest underdogs to win the Super Bowl in 2023. They won as a long shot in 2018 over the New England Patriots as 12.5-point underdogs, 17-14. The David Tyree catch will be remembered for years to come.

Eli Manning is no longer with the Giants, but Daniel Jones is looking at the same sort of criticism before he won the Super Bowl. There were talks in New York that Manning was never going to be good enough to lead the Giants to a championship.

Two Super Bowls later and Manning will always be remembered for his time in New York. Jones is reportedly nearing a contract extension with the Giants, so he will probably have chances to match Manning.

Is it going to happen this season? The Giants are one of the biggest long shots to win the Super Bowl. They are a Super Bowl sleeper team that is well-rounded, and arguably the best running back in the playoffs.

Saquon Barkley is ready to run in the playoffs after gaining 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns on 4.4 yards per carry. He has carried the ball 44 times with more than 5 yards per carry in his last three outings.

The Giants have a capable enough secondary to bother quarterbacks. They’ve allowed 214 yards through the air per game. In a Christmas Eve rematch against the Vikings, the Giants should be prepared to turn a 27-24 loss into a win on Wild Card Weekend.

Make it past the Vikings in a winnable game on the road, and the Giants are going to have a lot of confidence going forward. The Giants have to be considered as a sleeper team at +6500 to win the Super Bowl.
