What Are Weird Super Bowl Bets?

The Super Bowl is quite possibly the one time of the year where there are more prop bets than any other event that you can bet on. In fact, Super Bowl prop bets are more popular than the traditional wagers.

At The Sports Geek, we’ve divided Super Bowl prop bets into the following categories:

  • Traditional Prop Bets: These Super Bowl prop bets are based on in-game occurrences and events for Players, Teams and the Game overall.
  • Cross Sport Prop Bets: cross sport Super Bowl prop bets are based on occurrences that take place during the Super Bowl and another sport or event. For example, a player like Travis Kelce scoring a touchdown in the big game and Victor Wembanyama scoring over 20 points in his NBA game.
  • Weird Prop Bets: Weird and funny Super Bowl prop bets fall outside the lines of Traditional and Cross Sports props. These prop bets include many different weird topics like people running out on the field during the game and the Drake Curse.

Super Bowl 58 Official Viewership

VIEWERSHIPODDS
Over 116.5 Million Viewers-120
Under 116.5 Million Viewers-120

The current Super Bowl viewership record was set only last year in 2023. The matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles saw 114.21 million viewers tune in to watch the “Kelce Bowl”.

In the first-ever brother vs. brother Super Bowl, the NFL and advertisers did well in the Chiefs’ 38-35 win. After three of the previous Super Bowls didn’t reach 100.0 on the Neilson rating, the Chiefs and Eagles smashed through that mark for a new record.

The Chiefs and Eagles both have rabid fan bases, so that undoubtedly had an impact. The same can be said for the 49ers and Chiefs. However, the NFL has a not-so-secret weapon that should catapult Super Bowl 58 ratings into the stratosphere.

The Taylor Swift effect will be favorable for the NFL. As Swifties continue to fall in love with Kelce and the Chiefs, the league will undoubtedly reap the benefits at Super Bowl 58. According to Fortune, female viewership is up nine percent in the NFL this season. Additionally, the Chiefs have improved their brand value by $331.5 million.

Also, the postseason matchup versus the Buffalo Bills broke an NFL Divisional Round record, with more than 50 million viewers1. Expect the Super Bowl to break new records, too. We foresee the Super Bowl 58 Neilson viewership rating hitting roughly 117.5.

How Many Times Will Taylor Swift Be Shown?

TIMES SWIFT SHOWNODDS
Over 4.5-175
Under 4.5+135

While Swift is driving NFL viewership records, she isn’t too keen on the cameras watching her every move during games. During a promo for the Grammy Awards, it sure looked like Swift said, “Go away, please” when the cameras were on her2.

Regardless of what she said, it was clear Swift wasn’t amused with CBS focusing on her again. Will the CBS producers listen this time? If Swift makes it in time to Super Bowl 58 after her Eras Tour concert in Tokyo, you can bet that she is going to see plenty of airtime.

CBS knows very well that there are fans of Swift watching the game just to see her. However, five or more times of Swift on TV? The rules for this weird Super Bowl bet stipulate that it only counts from kickoff to the end of the game.

Only appearances by Swift during gameplay will count towards the bet. Pre-game and post-game festivities do not count. We are expecting Kelce to have a big game, according to our best Super Bowl 58 prop bets. That said, five spots during the game seem inflated.

Two times in the first half and two times in the second half is what we are anticipating. At +135, the Under 4.5 is certainly worth a look for one of the most popular crazy Super Bowl prop bets.

The Bet
Swift Shown Under 4.5

How Many Times Will Roger Goodell Be Shown?

TIMES GOODELL SHOWNODDS
Over 1.5-160
Under 1.5+120

This is a weird Super Bowl prop bet that we’ve auto-bet over the last few years. The bet continues to offer generous odds on the Under 1.5, at +120 odds.

Is there any reason to show Goodell more than once? What purpose does it serve for the broadcast? The cameras typically get one shot of Goodell for the broadcast.

After acknowledging Goodell’s presence once, they seem to be done with giving the commissioner of the NFL any more attention.

With only so much time available during a Super Bowl broadcast, showing Goodell isn’t the best use of the cameras. Consider hitting the Under 1.5, with great odds available as a plus money wager at the best football betting sites.

The Bet
Goodell Shown Under 1.5 Times

Will An Unauthorized Person Enter The Field of Play?

Unauthorized Person Enters Field of PlayODDS
No-500
Yes+300

This is essentially known as the Super Bowl “streaker” prop bet. If a person from the stands runs onto the field without permission, then that constitutes an unauthorized person entering the field of play.

Typically, this is done out of a protest, advertising, or an inebriated individual who sees a moment to get five minutes of fame. The Super Bowl is in Sin City, after all, so there might be some temptation to run onto the field.

In 2021, Yuri Andrade took the plunge and ran onto the field in Tampa Bay at Super Bowl LV. Wearing a bright suit women’s swimsuit and shorts, Andrade ran across the field to advertise his friend’s pornography website3.

If it’s going to happen again, it will probably be in Las Vegas, Nevada.

First TV Advertisement – BMW vs. Coors Light

COMMERCIALODDS
Coors Light-130
BMW-110

The beer Super Bowl commercials tend to be displayed later in games during more prominent time slots. While they aren’t as entertaining as they were years ago, many of the beer giants spend good money on advertising during the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, car manufacturers are being more cautious with how they spend money in 2024. Therefore, all four major American vehicle companies are bypassing running a Super Bowl ad for the first time in 23 years4.

However, the Euro and Asian brands appear to be prepared to air a Super Bowl commercial. For BMW, we have a gut feeling that it’s going to be a first-quarter commercial. Let’s ride with BMW airing their commercial before Coors Light on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Bet
BMW Commercial Before Coors Light

First TV Advertisement – Booking.com vs. Hellman’s

COMMERCIALODDS
Booking.com-120
Hellman’s-120

Booking.com vs. Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise is a crazy Super Bowl prop bet showdown for the ages. Do you prefer a vacation or cats? We will say that Hellman’s certainly knows their target audience.

In a year when Swifties, who we assume are predominantly fans of cats, will fall in love with the “Mayo Cat” commercial. While we haven’t seen a sneak peek of the Booking.com commercial, the company is fairly predictable.

The Super Bowl is all about getting the most attention and talked about the most the next day. So, perhaps Booking.com will surprise us with a change of pace. Regardless, we are predicting Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise to have the last say over Booking.com.

The Bet
Booking.com Commercial Before Hellman’s

First TV Advertisement – Drumstick vs. Uber Eats

COMMERCIALODDS
Drumstick+100
Uber Eats-140

In the next Super Bowl 58 commercial prop bet at Bovada, we have a matchup between Drumstick vs. Uber Eats. An Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial isn’t surprising to see on the schedule, but Drumstick was an unlikely contender for crazy Super Bowl bets.

Nevertheless, Uber Eats being an early commercial makes plenty of sense. The company wants its potential customers to see their advertisements early on in the Super Bowl.

No one is going to order Super Bowl food in the fourth quarter. Most people are done with ordering food by halftime. From this angle, it appears like Uber Eats before Drumstick is one of the best funny Super Bowl prop bets as far as commercials are concerned.

The Bet
Uber Eats Commercial Before Drumstick

Super Bowl Post-Game Prop Bets

Following the final whistle of Super Bowl 58, the gambling isn’t done yet. Bovada has released a bunch of funny Super Bowl prop bets for the post-game scene at Allegiant Stadium:

What Liquid Will Be Poured On The Winning Coach of Super Bowl 58?

GATORADE COLORODDS
Purple+185
Red+260
Blue+400
Lime/Green/Yellow+420
Orange+550
Clear/Water+900
None of the Above+2000

A year after purple won as a +1000 underdog, after the Chiefs’ win in Super Bowl 57, purple is not the favorite. Since 2003, it was only the second time that grape was the flavor of choice for the Super Bowl winner.

If you like the Chiefs to win Super Bowl 58, then it has to be purple, right? Not so fast. In 2020, the Chiefs poured orange Gatorade over head coach Andy Reid.

Orange isn’t seeing much respect from oddsmakers at Bovada. Currently, orange is +550 to be the drink of choice for the Super Bowl 58 winner.

That said, orange has had some success over the last 13 years. Since then, the Gatorade color poured over the winning head coach has been orange five times.

For this weird Super Bowl prop bet, it’s all about getting the best value. In our opinion, orange has strong value at +550 odds.

Who Will The Super Bowl MVP Mention First In His Speech?

MVP THANK FIRSTODDS
Teammates-145
God or Jesus+135
City+1000
Family or Family Members+1400
Coach+1800
None+1800
Owner+3500

With QBs Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy the most likely Super Bowl 58 MVPs, we can focus on these two players. And, when it comes to Mahomes and Purdy, they’re likely going to thank their teammates before anything else.

Purdy, who gets a big assist from a talented offensive core, better thank the likes of Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel during his MVP speech. We are confident that he will if he grabs the MVP honors for Super Bowl 58.

There are unselfish players on both teams who are most likely to turn to their teammates before anyone else.

The Bet
MVP Thanks Teammates First

Will Any Player Propose To His Girlfriend On The Field After The Game?

PROPOSE TO GIRLFRIENDODDS
No-290
Yes+210

Players proposing to their girlfriends on the field isn’t unprecedented. It was only two years ago that Los Angeles Rams’ safety Taylor Rapp proposed to his girlfriend after winning Super Bowl 56.

There are 53 players on each active roster. That gives us 106 players, some of whom are married or single. However, there is likely a decent enough chunk of players that have long-term girlfriends.

There are at least enough to consider wagering on this prop bet. It’s the biggest moment of their football career and also presents an opportunity for a marriage proposal.

At -290 odds, there is little to no value on the “No” option at Bovada. Instead, consider betting on there being a marriage proposal at Super Bowl 58.

Even if it’s just a small wager, it’s a fun Super Bowl prop bet to have on your card.

The Bet
Player Will Propose On Field After Game

Miscellaneous Weird Super Bowl Prop Bets

Lastly, we have a few weird Super Bowl bets that don’t necessarily fit into a category. The following funny Super Bowl prop bets can be found at Bovada:

Drake Super Bowl Curse – What Team Apparel Will Drake Be Wearing On Super Bowl Sunday?

TEAMODDS
Kansas City Chiefs-170
San Francisco 49ers+130

No offense to Drake, but he is what we could call somewhat of a bandwagon fan. He likes to support the “in” team and whatever is trending at the moment. Currently, Mahomes, Kelce, and Swift are all trending for Super Bowl 58.

Would Drake take Brock Purdy over Mahomes? It doesn’t seem like the most logical answer. Drake will side with Mahomes and Swift, as he looks to please the millions of Swifties from around the world on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Bet
Drake Wears Chiefs Apparel

What Will Happen To The Price of Bitcoin (BTC) During Super Bowl 58?

BTC PRICEODDS
Price Goes Up-125
Price Goes Down-105

Will the price of Bitcoin go up or down from kickoff to the end of the game at Super Bowl 58? Currently, with a price of around $43,000, Bitcoin is doing quite well. In the previous six months, the price has risen by approximately 47 percent.

However, in such a limiting time frame, is it worth laying -125 odds on the price to go up? The Super Bowl typically lasts around 3-4 hours. So, the way we see it, this is a 50/50 bet, with neither side having an advantage.

Over the last month, the price of Bitcoin has risen steadily by around 3 percent. Again, however, in a 3-to-4-hour span, it could go anywhere. With that in mind, the price of Bitcoin going down is worth considering at -105 odds.

The Bet
BTC Price Goes Down During Super Bowl 58

Who Will Be Shown First During “America The Beautiful”?

SHOWN FIRSTODDS
Travis Kelce-250
Christian McCaffrey+185

Post Malone has been confirmed to be the singer for “America The Beautiful”, which takes place moments before “The Star-Spangled Banner”. Malone may not be Swift, but we can still cash in during the signing of “America The Beautiful”, and maybe even on her boyfriend.

Kelce being shown before McCaffrey appears like a likely proposition. McCaffrey is a star, but we are not sure that he will be shown by the TV cameras during “America The Beautiful”. He’s one of many terrific players on the 49ers.

Look for CBS to quickly show Kelce on the sidelines during “America The Beautiful”, and cash your bet before Reba even belts out the first note of the national anthem.

The Bet
Kelce Shown First

Will Any Player Record An Octopus?

OCTOPUSODDS
No-1000
Yes+550

Will any player record an octopus in Super Bowl 58? While it might sound like a wild prop bet, an octopus bet is really quite simple: if a player scores a touchdown and then scores a two-point conversion, they’ve recorded an octopus.

The Super Bowl 58 odds are against an octopus happening. However, at -1000 odds, you will have to lay $1000 to win $100 at Bovada. The bet comes with a 90.0 percent implied probability of winning. It’s likely, but is it worth taking such poor odds?

In our opinion, the “Yes” is worth looking at in Las Vegas. There are go-to targets on both sides of the ball. If, for instance, Travis Kelce scores a touchdown, there is a high probability that he will be the primary target on a two-point attempt.

The same can be said for Chiefs’ running back Isiah Pacheco. He has been terrific within five yards and has a knack for finding the end zone. It’s within the realm of possibility that the Chiefs call his number again for an octopus following a touchdown.

For the 49ers, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel are all effective around the goal line. They could have a chance at the Super Bowl octopus. Again, the odds suggest it won’t happen, but at +550, it’s worth a small bet as part of your Super Bowl 58 betting card.

The Bet

Scorigami: Game To End With a Unique Scoreline In NFL History?

SCORIGAMIODDS
Yes+2200
NoN/A

A Scorigami happens when an unprecedented final score occurs in the NFL. If the score has never happened in a game before, then it is considered a Scorigami.

There were nine Scorigami scores in the 2023-24 NFL season. The Baltimore Ravens’ 56-19 win over the Miami Dolphins on New Year’s Eve is the most recent Scorigami.

In the Super Bowl, there have been three documented Scorigami’s in NFL history. The most recent was in 2014 at Super Bowl XLVIII, with the Seattle Seahawks’ 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos.

With the Super Bowl 58 Scorigami odds suggesting a 4.3 percent chance, it’s unlikely that we’ll see one in Las Vegas. Having said that, Scorigami odds of +2200 are worth a sprinkle at BetUS.

The Bet
Yes
+2200
