Women’s March Madness 2025 Sweet 16 Best Bets
North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Duke Blue Devils: North Carolina +6 (-115)
Duke-Carolina usually gets a lot of attention on the men’s side, but it’s definitely a rivalry in the ACC on the women’s side! The two split a pair of meetings during the regular season, with the Tar Heels winning 53-46 in overtime at home on January 9. The Blue Devils returned the favor with a 68-53 victory at home on February 27.

The third-seeded Tar Heels took out Oregon State 70-49 in their opener, and then dropped West Virginia 58-47 in the second round. #2 Duke routed Lehigh 86-25 to avoid a famous men’s upset from 2012, and then held off Oregon for a 59-53 win. Both teams are winning with their defense, and that was the key for both teams in their regular-season wins.
There isn’t much between these bitter rivals, and I think the 6-point line is too high. It’s going to be an ugly game, and I can see this game coming right down to the wire. The Blue Devils might even pull out the win. But I think North Carolina keeps it within six points, which is good enough for a Sweet 16 cover at college basketball betting sites!
Ole Miss Rebels vs. UCLA Bruins: UCLA -8.5 (-110)
The top overall seeded Bruins are favored by 8.5 points over the #5 Rebels, who won 83-65 over Ball State in the first round, and 69-63 over Baylor in the second round. Meanwhile, UCLA handled Southern 84-46, followed by an 84-67 win over Richmond.
Lauren Betts has been named one of four finalists for the @NaismithTrophy 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣’𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 🤩

The Rebels are solid enough, but I don’t think they have enough on either side of the floor. Ole Miss has five players that average at least 9.2 points. UCLA has three, but Lauren Betts or Kiki Rice would lead Ole Miss in scoring. Furthermore, I just don’t think the Rebels have anyone that can contain Betts, a finalist for the Naismith Trophy for the Player of the Year. Betts had a monster game against Richmond with 30 points (on 14-of-17 shooting) and 14 rebounds. She was also the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and averaged 2.9 blocks this season.
The Bruins also shot 40.7% from three against Richmond, and 45% against Southern. If UCLA has Betts, and can shoot like this from the outside, I don’t think Ole Miss has much of a chance. So I’m taking UCLA to cover their women’s Sweet 16 odds of 8.5 points here, and I think this should be a relatively easy win for the Bruins. This should be a nice addition to your March Madness parlay bets.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. TCU Horned Frogs: TCU +185
This game has the chance to be the best of the Sweet 16 round! The #2 Horned Frogs thumped Fairleigh Dickinson 73-51 to kick off the NCAA Tournament, then dropped Louisville 85-70. The #3 Fighting Irish routed Stephen F. Austin 106-54 in the opening round, and handled Michigan 76-55 in the second round.

Despite being seeded higher, the Horned Frogs are the underdogs here at +185, with Notre Dame coming back at -225, which, I think, is way too short. Head coach Mark Campbell turned around a program that was 1-17 in the Big 12 before he got there. Hailey Van Lith has been terrific since transferring from LSU after spending her first three years at Louisville. These two have changed the mentality of the programs, and center Sedona Prince forms a great 1-2 punch with Van Lith. Both have had double-doubles so far in the NCAA Tournament.
The Fighting Irish are no slouches, and Hannah Hidalgo is one of the best players in the country. She had 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists against Stephen F. Austin, and 21 points against Michigan. But I’m worried about Olivia Miles, who was Notre Dame’s second-leading scorer this season. She was 0-for-6 for two points and left the first game with a leg injury. She returned for the Michigan game, but took just four shots and had eight points.
I just trust TCU’s defense more, and I think they’ll feel slighted by being the underdogs (players do know the odds, regardless of what they say). The Horned Frogs have already beaten Notre Dame this season, downing the Fighting Irish 76-68 in the Cayman Islands on November 29. I’m taking the “upset” and going with TCU at +185 for the value in my women’s Sweet 16 picks!
