2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Group Odds and Predictions

Fifa 2023 Odds

As is the case with the FIFA Men’s World Cup, the Women’s World Cup only takes place once every four years. It is a rare opportunity to watch and bet on the best in women’s international soccer.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will begin on Thursday, July 20, with co-host country New Zealand taking on Norway in a Group A showdown. The month-long tournament will conclude

with the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, August 20.

There are several different ways to bet on the 2023 Women’s World Cup. From prop betting, live betting, group betting, outright winner wagering, and more, Women’s World Cup betting sites will have you covered extensively throughout July and August.

Currently, the USA is favored to win the Women’s World Cup at +250 odds. To do that, the American women will have to win their Group first. That’s where we will begin our World Cup betting journey as we examine the latest World Cup Group odds from the best soccer betting sites.

Women’s World Cup Group A Odds

TEAMODDS
Norway-325
New Zealand+500
Switzerland+500
Philippines+12500

The Norwegians are bringing a lot of confidence with them to Oceania. In 2021 and 2022, the Norway women’s team dominated the World Cup qualifiers.

From September 16, 2021, to September 22, 2022, Norway did not lose any of their ten qualifying matches. They had a draw against Poland, but otherwise won their remaining matches to easily qualify for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Last September, Norway finished atop Group F with 28 points. The Norwegian women concluded the qualifying stage with an impressive record of 9-1-01. It was not a difficult journey for Norway to the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

And, they are not in the toughest Group, either. If New Zealand wasn’t one of the host countries, Norway would likely be a -500 favorite to finish atop Group A. The public is giving New Zealand some respect for playing on their home turf.

However, Ada Hegerberg is unlikely to allow New Zealand to gain the upper hand in Group A. The talented 29-year-old striker should propel Norway to a relatively easy win.

Women’s World Cup Group B Odds

TEAMODDS
Australia-200
Canada+200
Nigeria+1500
Republican of Ireland+2000

We see Group B being competitive between Australia and Canada. You can throw Nigeria and Ireland out, as they stand no chance in this Group. Unfortunately, they did not catch any breaks receiving this draw.

Canada returns to the big stage at the World Cup after winning the Gold Medal at Tokyo 2020. It was an instant classic, as the Canadians edged out the Swedes in penalty kicks to claim their first Olympic gold2.

This was only two years ago after the Olympic Games were pushed back because of the Covid-19 pandemic. While the core of the Canadian team is getting older, there is a plethora of experience on this side.

40-year-old Christine Sinclair is one of the most established leaders taking to the pitch at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. This is likely her final World Cup and we are sure she isn’t going down quietly.

In September 2022, Canada knocked off Australia in an international friendly in Brisbane, 2-1. Adriana Leon was in top form with both goals for Canada. It was the second straight win for Team Canada following a 1-0 win over the Matildas3.

Australia and Canada will both advance after finishing No. 1 and No. 2 in Group B. In which order though? At +200 odds, the Canadians have to be the best bet to finish atop Group B. They’re also one of our top sleepers to win the World Cup.

Women’s World Cup Group C Odds

TEAMODDS
Spain-700
Japan+400
Zambia+5000
Costa Rica+10000

There are some countries that lucked out with their draws. Team Spain is a squad that should have a cakewalk through Group C.

They are by far the most powerful and talented team. There is a small chance that Spain takes their opponents lightly early on in the Women’s World Cup.

If this happens, there might be a small opening for Japan. However, they will find it difficult to finish with more points than Spain in group play.

Nevertheless, Japan will advance after finishing second behind Spain. Zambia and Costa Rica pose no threat to Spain and Japan.

In the qualifying stage, Spain finished with a perfect record of 8-0-0 and 24 points. They had a whopping goal differential of +544. Expect Spain to finish No. 1 and Japan No. 2.

Women’s World Cup Group D Odds

TEAMODDS
England-4000
Denmark+1000
China+4000
Haiti+8000

England is a massive favorite to finish with the most points in Group D. The Lionesses are a staggering -4000 favorite to beat Denmark, China, and Haiti.

Denmark is not a bad team, either. It’s just that England is too good for the rest of Group D. England was a perfect 10-0-0 with 30 points in World Cup qualification matches.

In the qualifying stage, England separated themselves from the rest of the pack with an incredible +80 goal differential5. In a Group with Austria, it wasn’t the easiest schedule for England as well.

That said, Denmark held their own in qualification. They didn’t lose a match for a perfect mark of 8-0-0. England ranks fourth in the world, while Denmark is 13th, according to FIFA Rankings6.

England should clear Group D. However, laying -4000 odds is too high given Denmark’s puncher’s chance.

The Lionesses will win this group, but they should probably be a -1500 favorite and not at -4000. With this in mind, Denmark is worth a flier at +1000 odds due to the solid betting value we’re getting.

Women’s World Cup Group E Odds

TEAMODDS
USA-400
Netherlands+250
Portugal+6000
Vietnam+20000

Team USA has the best odds to win the 2023 Women’s World Cup at +250. In Group E with the Netherlands, Portugal, and Vietnam, the American ladies will be advancing.

Forget about Portugal and Vietnam. They will show no resistance to the USA and Netherlands. Thanks for coming out Portugal and Vietnam, but you are going home soon.

At Tokyo 2020, the Americans had a disappointing showing. They lost to the Canadians in the semifinals and had to settle for a Bronze Medal. Much more was expected out of Megan Rapinoe and company.

This will be the last World Cup for Rapinoe, as she recently announced her retirement following the 2023 Women’s World Cup7. Similar to Canada’s Sinclair, Rapinoe is one of the most experienced players in the tournament and she has the best leadership qualities in the World Cup this year.

Other Team USA mainstays are getting older, too. Alex Morgan isn’t getting any younger, but this core still has one more big showing in them before the landscape of USA women’s soccer looks much different. Both Morgan and Sophia Smith are favorites to win the prestigious Golden Boot award.

We expect the USA to cruise past their rivals in Group E. They should have this under wraps over the Netherlands.

Women’s World Cup Group F Odds

TEAMODDS
France-200
Brazil+140
Jamaica+5000
Panama+20000

Circle your calendars for July 29. France and Brazil will meet with what is likely the top spot in Group F on the line. In any event, neither squad is going home early.

Jamaica and Panama will have quick stays, with France and Brazil advancing to the next stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. France and Brazil will meet for the third time since 2020 at Suncorp Stadium in Australia.

France defeated Brazil in both meetings, but they were tightly contested matchups. On March 7, 2020, the defense locked the Brazilians down for a 1-0 victory. Last February, France netted two goals for a 2-1 victory in 2022.

It was complete domination for France through the qualifying matches. They sported a perfect record of 10-0-0 and were always in complete control. That being said, Brazil has shown improvement since losing to France in 2022.

The Brazilian women are coming off an appearance in the first-ever Women’s Finalissima against England at Wembley Stadium. Despite losing to England, it was a close match that had to be decided in penalties8.

Brazil is a live underdog to win Group F in Marta’s final World Cup9. This should be closer than the Women’s World Cup Group odds suggest at online sports betting sites.

After nearly knocking off one of the best women’s teams in the world, expect Brazil to give France a fight.

Women’s World Cup Group G Odds

TEAMODDS
Sweden-650
Italy+500
Argentina+1500
South Africa+8000

Sweden and Italy are likely on their way to the next stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. However, Argentina can’t be discarded in group play completely.

Italy had success in qualifying to finish atop Group G. The women’s program has taken considerable steps forward over the last four years.

They did not draw the toughest Group, but the Italians will have a tough match against Sweden. Sweden claimed the Silver Medal at Tokyo 2020 following a thrilling penalty-kick duel in a loss versus Canada10.

Italy stormed through qualifying with just one loss and nine wins. The defense was in incredible form, as the Italian women conceded just two goals in ten matches. The offense scored 40 goals to beat Sweden’s 32 goals in the qualification stage11.

Sweden is the likely winner of Group G, but oddsmakers are not giving Italy enough respect. On February 23, 2022, these two squads went toe-to-toe, with Sweden winning 6-5 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in the Algarve Cup Final12.

At +500 odds, Italy has to be worth a look to win Group G.

Women’s World Cup Group H Odds

TEAMODDS
Germany-4000
Colombia+1400
Republic of Korea+1800
Morocco+15000

In the most lopsided Women’s World Cup Group in 2023, Germany draws Colombia, the Republic of Korea, and Morocco.

Colombia might make things interesting for a few minutes. However, Germany failing to finish atop the standings would likely be one of the biggest surprises of group play.

The Germans are ranked fifth in the world as opposed to 28th for Colombia13. Germany should have the easiest time through the first stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

It would be an incredibly disappointing result if Germany doesn’t bulldoze over the competition. Team Germany will run into issues against superior opponents after group play is completed. Germany is expected to come back strong following a stunner in a prep match against Zambia recently.

For Group H, Germany is not expected to experience any resistance. Germany’s odds to win Group H are lopsided to the point of providing no value. Nevertheless, there isn’t another logical option here.
