On the other side, the Marlins’ pitcher comes in with a more favorable ERA at 3.583 and an impressive strikeouts-per-game average hovering around 7.7. This suggests he’s adept at missing bats, which can stifle offensive momentum—a vital aspect when facing a lineup like Atlanta’s that may struggle given their current batting stats: only averaging about 1.5 runs per game and carrying a meager .133 batting average so far this season.

Looking deeper into the Braves’ hitting numbers paints a somewhat concerning picture. An on-base percentage (OBP) just shy of 44% is decent but coupled with such low run production highlights inefficiencies in converting opportunities into actual runs scored. A good coach always emphasizes making adjustments at the plate; if they don’t find ways to drive runners home or create productive outs against Meyer tonight, they’ll likely find themselves on the losing end.

Conversely, Miami has been performing well offensively—averaging four runs per game with an OBP exceeding 67%. Their ability to put together quality at-bats will play an integral role here as they face off against Schwellenbach’s relatively inexperienced pitching style.
